明清之际入华传教士与中国印刷业

明清之际入华天主教传教士向欧洲介绍了中国的印刷术,认为中国的雕版印刷不逊于欧洲的活字印刷。传教士曾引进过拉丁文铅活字印刷和铜雕版印刷,但对中国印刷业没有产生实质性影响。他们利用中国现有的印刷网络出版教会书籍,在这一过程中劝化了一些工匠信教,为教会出书提供了方便。

The Missionaries Entering China between the Period of the Ming and Qing Dynasties and Chinese Printing Industry

Between the period of the Ming and Qing dynasties, the missionaries of Catholicism entering China introduced Chinese printing technology to Europe and considered Chinese block printing was not inferior to European type printing. Though the missionaries introduced lead type printing and bronze block printing in latin, the introduction did not make substantive impact on Chinese printing industry. In the process of utilizing the then China＇ s printing networks to publish the books of the catholic church, the missionaries persuaded some artisans to believe in the religion, and got some convenience to publish books.
