Implications of Conceptual Change Research for Learning Environment Design

Conceptual change research provides a new epistemological perspective on how people learn,especially how to learn deeply and to learn with understanding.Based on the overview of important research findings in this field,the article argues some implications for learning environment design as follows:attaching importance to learners'preconception;analyzing and changing learners' ontological and epistemological presuppositions;developing learners'meta-conception awareness; creating comfortable and supportive learning environments;organizing curriculum materials.
