Training: Key to Strategic Management

Abstract:Changes in strategic business plans often mean that people need to perform in new, perhaps unfamiliar, ways if the plans are to be implemented successfully. If people lack skills to perform, training can furnish those skills. In recent years much has been written in professional journals about integrating business plans and employee training. Yet little research has been done on this subject. This paper describes the results of a national survey on relationships between business plans and employee training.
