世界各国小学英语外语教学概况(上)

我国自2001年秋季开始从小学三年级逐步开设英语课程以来,小学英语教学已成为专家学者、教师们谈论的热点和焦点。中国小学英语教学是世界英语作为外语教学(TEFL)的一部分,不同国家在设置小学英语课程时有不同的考虑和不同的教育背景。我们的学者、科研人员和广大教师在进行我国小学英语科研和教学时,应该了解别国的情况和思路,用以借鉴和学习。1999—2000年,英国文化委员会(British council)在世界范围内开展了把英语作为外语学习的儿童(11岁以下)英语学习状况的大规模调查。这项调查涉及了42个国家和地区,调查计划是由英国沃里克大学英语教育发展中心的shelagh Rixon先生设计提出的,这项调查内容涵盖了上述国家的小学英语外语教育政策、教育理念、实际教学实施等情况。国家基础教育实验中心外语教育研究中心秘书处在英国文化委员会帮助下,将这份调查结果整理、编译出来在本刊陆续发表,仅供广大从事小学英语教学和研究的学者、老师参考。
