LETTER TO BEIJING——Gunther Uecker holds solo exhibition in China

Renowned German artist Gunther Uecker held his solo exhibition ＂Letter to Beijing＂ in the National Art Museum of China from June 22 to 29, which was organized by Goethe Institute （China）.[第一段]     

“Early China： the Formative Period of. Chinese Civilization” Disphyed in Capital Museum

Last autumn, the exhibition ＂Early China： the Formative Period of Chinese Civilization＂ was held in the Capital Museum in Beijing. The 210 sets or pieces of exhibits showcase the origin and early evolution of Chinese civilization from 3500 BC to 1400 BC.     

Colorful China： Exhibition on Ethnic Traditions of China

The exhibition ＂Colorful China＂ was recently held in the Capital Museum in Beijing, This exhibition displayed 100 pieces or sets of masterpieces of ethnic tradition in foursections, including ＂Unity and Self-Reliance＂, ＂Ethnic Diversity and Harmony＂, ＂Superb Craftsmanship＂ and ＂Mental Cultivation＂. These historic exhibits collected by 12 different museums of China offered viewers a good opportunity to take an in-depth look at ethnic cultures and traditions preserved and promoted in the process of modernization.     

“KINGS OF GUIZHOU AND QUEENS OF VALAIS”

The photo exhibition ＂Kings of Guizhou and Queens of Valais＂ by Swiss photographer Petri de Pita was held in Beijing during Chinese Spring Festival in 2009 to present a comparative black and white photo report on the similarity between the fighting cows in Swilzerland and the fighting buffalos in China.     

Cai Guoqiang： I Want to Believe

For Cai Guoqiang, August 2008 means a time full of not only challenge but also grace. As the chief designer of fire display for the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Cai demonstrated his aesthetics of gun powder in front of more than 4 billion viewers from across the world. Also in this month, his solo exhibition Cai Guoqiang： I Want To Believe＂ was opened in Beijing, which was co-presented by the National Art Museum of China, Guggenheim Museum in New York and the Center of International Cultural Exchange. Beijing was the second leg of this globa tour. Its exhibition tn Guggenheim in the first half of this year was acclaimed as one of the important cultural events in the world. From February to May,Gugcjenheim moved out all the exhibits, including Picasso＇s, and all its three storeys of exhibition space were used to display Cai＇s works created over the past two decades.     

FOCUS ON CHINESE CULTURE --The art exhibition ＂China in Eyes of African Artists＂ held in Benin

A s a comprising event of ＂Focus on Chinese Culture 2009＂ series, the art exhibition ＂China in Eyes of African Artists＂ , was recently held in China Culture Center in Cotonou,economic capital city of Benin. An artist delegation from Shenzhen was invited to attend this event. Some 300 officials, diplomats and artists participated in the opening ceremony.     

Polish Olympic Stamps and Chopin Posters Displayed in Beijing

The exhibition ＂Olympic Stamps from Polish Chopin＇s Hometown＂, a major event of Culture Festival, was held from May 18 to June 2 in Boyi Gallery in Beijing. This exhibition, in celebration of the 2008 Olympics and ever-growing cultural ties between China and Poland, was coorganized by Chinese Cultural Ministry and Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, in partnership with the Center of International Cultural Exchange, China ＆. World Cultural Exchange magazine and Adama Mickiewicza Institute.     

Crossing： Dialogues for Emergency Architecture

One year after the Wenchuan Earthquake killed thousands in the Sichuan Province, an exhibition on ＂Emergency Architecture＂ is on display at the National Art Museum of China in Beijing. This exhibition is organized by the United Nations Development Programme, the Department of Art of the Chinese Cultural Ministry and the National Art Museum of China, and supported by the School of Architecture at the Central Academy of Fine Arts.     

An Attempt to Rescue Traditional Culture

On November 8, an exhibition on the replicas of lost painting and calligraphic masterpieces, used to be part of the Qing court collection, opened in the National Library of China. This one-month exhibition was co-organized by the collection connoisseurship committee of China Cultural Relics Soceity and Liaoning Provincial Museum. A Crystal Palace on Meridian Gate Tower

In the Spring Festival 2005 in Macao, an exhibition on Fujian and Jiangsu‘s folk arts of spring festival was held in the art museum next to Golden Lotus Square which was built to celebrate Macao‘s return to the motherland. SHADOW PLAY CHERISHED AS INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE

In celebration of ＂China Cultural Heritage Day＂, a comprehensive exhibition showcasing Chinese .shadow play masterpieces was held in June in the National Art Museum of China. Some 17,000 rare leather silhouettes used for shadow plays and collected by NAMOC was displayed for the first time in the history of NAMOC and shadow plays by folk troupes were presented in the museum for three days in order to give the audience an authentic taste of this timehonored art form.[第一段]     

EXHIBITION COMMEMORATING WU GUANZHONG HELD IN NATIONAL GALLERY

A special exhibition was held in the Nationa Art Museum of China from July 7 to August 2, commemorating contemporary master painter Wu Guanzhong, who passed away during the late evening hours of June 25. The exhibition displayed 62 works from master Wu, all from the museum＇s collection and covered three exhibition halls on the fifth floor of the museum.     

Splendor of the Han,Rise of the Celestial Empire Han Dynasty artifacts on display at Guimet Museum,Paris

The exhibition “Splendor of the Han, Rise of the Celestial Empire” opened at Guimet Museum on October 21, 2014 as part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of China- France diplomatic relations. This is the largest exhibition on Chinese antiquities ever held in France since the Year of Chinese Culture in 2004. With many exquisite exhibits on view, inchtdingjade, bronze and pottery, the exhibition aims to present a panoramic view of the Han Dynasty, a united and open empire of cultural confidence and ethnic diversity existing 2,000 years ago. China through Camera Lens

In the end of April, a photography exhibition “China in the Eyes of a Beninese Photographer” was opened in China Culture Center in Benin, displaying photographic works by Beninese freelancer photographer Yves Kofi, This exhibition is part of “Beautiful Nations” series which aims to attract Chinese and Beninese photographers to shoot historic sites, traditions and customs, natural landscape and social progress of Benin and China, This annual photo exhibition series saw its first session in the end of 2007, which showcased nearly 100 photo works by more than 30 Beninese and Chinese photographers.     

China, France Co-organize Art Exhibition in Beijing

A Sino-French painting exhibition featuring impressionist and modern art opened at the National .Art Museum of China in the early spring of 2006. The exhibition, named ＂Ici, La-bas＂ （Here, There） features masterpieces of Chinese painter Ding Tianque and French painters, France Mitrofanoff and Francis de Lenclos.
