Education is the backbone for the development of society. With the advent of technology, it is becoming necessary and being used for the advancement of society. Technology is being used for education as being used in other important fields of life. Usage of technology for education can play a big part in bringing improvement in education For this purpose, this research aims to explore the usage and effects of technology for education. While using the survey method, a questionnaire was constructed for data collection. The sample of the study consists of graduate and postgraduate students from both ODL and regular universities and the sample size would be of 300 respondents (150 from each type of university) who were selected by using simple random sampling. The present study concluded that technology is widely used by both regular and ODL students. This study further concluded that ODL students are more dependent on technology as compared to regular students.  相似文献

In the Albanian schools settings does not exist religious discrimination, neither gender discrimination, but there exists a discrimination, as unfair against children called "difficulty". The children who drop out of school are by far less numerous compared with those who start school, but who are not properly treated, so that they can progress the same as other children. The object of this article is the children with learning difficulties, the causes of these difficulties. One of the reasons, among many others, why this secret dropping out of school happens is also difficulty in learning that quite a few number of pupils have, which are not known to everyone, and consequently are not treated by all the teachers, or by the other people who surround the child, condemning him to a school failure and slim chances to succeed later in life. It has often been pointed out that to define the causes of these learning difficulties it is not an easy task. A large number of factors intermingle bringing about the hell of learning for some children. If it is impossible to intervene in different organic damages (even they in many cases can be prevented though), at least those depending on people can be avoided by offering a favorable environment, showing fondness towards them and making efforts to help these children. Above all, the authors have to be willing, to know and be able to do this as parents and precisely as teachers.  相似文献

Be Yourself
We often hear say that people are different. There are not two people who are like each other in every way. Even twins do not look completely the same. Everyone is an individual. It is important to realize that you are the only one in the world. You can not be replaced by anyone else.  相似文献

The purpose of the research is to explore second graders' concept of number development and quantitative reasoning. For this purpose, there were two stages of trials for the children. The first trial was concrete objects. After three months, the children participated in the second trial of half concrete objects. Since understanding the process of solving problems in children is necessary, the researcher observed how children used strategies to discriminate numerosity. After that, the researcher interviewed some students. The research sample came from second graders in Taiwan and Hawaii elementary schools. Twenty students participated in each place. In addition, it was observed whether numerical discrimination strategy in children is the same as in adults. The sample included 20 adults. The result of the research showed that Taiwanese and Hawaiian children reached up to a 90% rate of correct answers in the trial of real objects. However, in the trial of half concrete objects, the rate of correct answers was down to 65%, especially when children compared two quantities of 5:6 ratios. As for strategy, the strategies of the children who gave correct answers were the same as the adults who gave completely correct answers. Because their discrimination was not influenced by distance effect, they could judge the numbers correctly. However, the children who got 90% correct answers were impacted by distance effect, but not influenced by the size of the object. The research suggests that teachers give children real objects to estimate or discriminate the quantities of numbers in their lives.  相似文献

How can you inspire a child to read?Today, many children never develop a love for books. A 1980 California study revealed that nearly 70 percent of sixth-graders polled said they rarely read for pleasure-an identical percentage said they watched four or more hours of TV a day.How can you help a child discover the magic, joy and wonder that come from reading a book? To find out, I spoke with Charles Schulz, the cartoonist, Maurice Sendak, who draws and writes books for children, Judy Blume, who writes for young adults, and Jim Trelease. an authority on motivating children to read,CHARLES SCHULZ, the creator of Peanuts, doesn't think it matters what children read, as long as they read something. As a child, Schulz loved reading comic strips-especially Buck Rogers and Popeye-but in his day, says the cartoonist, " teachers frowned on that kind of reading material."  相似文献

It is said that improving movement habits is effective way to solve the problem of obesity. However, there are many people who are unable to form a habit of exercising for reasons, such as "feeling troublesome to go to the gym" and "getting sick of exercise at home due to the monotony". Previous researches have proposed systems that provide virtual reality environment for enjoying interactive exercising. In this paper, the authors describe a virtual tennis system that can control a game mode to let a user maintain an appropriate exercise load based on an estimation of the user's heart rate state. The author has created a Bayesian network model for heart rate state estimation. The probabilities of heart rate states can be calculated by using the model, and then the heart rate state which has the highest probability is selected as an estimation result. The author has evaluated the virtual tennis system experimentally and ascertained the effectiveness of the system to appropriate exercise load maintenance.  相似文献

If you are visiting the United States, sometimes you may wonder how the states got their names. Some of the most interesting names came from the American Indian languages. For example, Illinois was named for the Indians who used to live in that part of the country. In their language, Illinois means“Brave Men”. Connecticut, the name of another state, mean“At the Long River-mouth”in the language of the Indians who used to live there.Twenty-five of the states have Indian names, but othe…  相似文献

One of the qualities that most people admire in others is the willingness to admit one's mistakes. It is extremely hard sometimes, to say a simple thing like “I was wrong about that”, and it is even harder to say, “I was wrong, and you are right about that. ”  相似文献
