模糊语言学认为语言存在不确定性。如果语言翻译过分追求准确性有时会使文学作品丧失美感,尤其是在诗词翻译中,而追求模糊可以达到美的再现。以模糊语言学理论为理论基础,分别从词的模糊美、意境的模糊美和音形的模糊美这三方面对《声声慢》的英译本进行研究,来探讨宋词英译的模糊美再现,促进中国诗词文化的外传,在此基础上给文学作品翻译以启示。

翻译研究的发展离不开其他一些相关学科的研究成果。国内外模糊语言学的研究成果表明,语言模糊性与翻译有着密切的联系,模糊语言学和翻译学可以有机地结合起来,形成新的模糊翻译理论。分析了国内模糊翻译研究的现有成果,讨论了模糊语言现象的构成特点及翻译方法。     

从语用学的语境理论角度分析语用模糊

语用学和模糊语言学都是语言学中最近几十年才发展起来的年轻有活力的学科。很多学者不仅多角度地研究过模糊语言学,而且研究了模糊语言学在很多领域,特别是英语教学中的实践意义。然而从语用学中的语境理论来系统地分析模糊语言的文献还几乎没有。因此,本文试图从语用学中的语境理论分析语用中的模糊语言,说明模糊语言需要人们从认知心理等各方面理解其在不同交际场合的作用,从而有助于人们在言语交际中正确理解和使用模糊语言。

模糊语言学历史悠久且已成为语言学家研究的新方向和新领域。语言的局限性、文学语言的基本特征及读者理解的差异性是文学作品中模糊语言产生的主要原因。使用模糊语言学的理论并贯穿于文学人物形象分析的始终，势必为文学评论做出贡献并加深对人物形象和作品主题的印象，而以文学作品为研究材料对语言学理论进行深入阐述和引证又可加强我们对抽象理论的理解和认识。本文将从模糊语言学的角度去探讨哈代的著名长篇小说《德伯家的苔丝》，并采用以段落顺序为中心的方式分析其中人物的语言，以期对语言学研究做出贡献并分析文学作品中的人物形象。
