In this paper,a fabrication scheduling problem concerning the production of components at a single manufacturing facility was studied,in which the manufactured components are subsequently assembled into a finite number of end products. Each product was assumed to comprise a common component to all jobs and a unique component to itself.Common operations were processed in batches and each batch required a setup time.A product is completed when both its two operations have been processed and are available.The optimality criterion considered was the minimization of weighted flow time.For this scheduling problem,the optimal schedules were described in a weignted shortest processing time first(WSPT)order and two algorithms were constructed corresponding to the batch availability and item availability,respectively.     

Modeling and multi-objective optimization of a gasoline engine using neural networks and evolutionary algorithms

In this paper, a multi-objective particle swarm optimization （MOPSO） algorithm and a nondominated sorting genetic algorithm II （NSGA-II） are used to optimize the operating parameters of a 1.6 L, spark ignition （SI） gasoline engine. The aim of this optimization is to reduce engine emissions in terms of carbon monoxide （CO）, hydrocarbons （HC）, and nitrogen oxides （NOx）, which are the causes of diverse environmental problems such as air pollution and global warming. Stationary engine tests were performed for data generation, covering 60 operating conditions. Artificial neural networks （ANNs） were used to predict exhaust emissions, whose inputs were from six engine operating parameters, and the outputs were three resulting exhaust emissions. The outputs of ANNs were used to evaluate objective functions within the optimization algorithms： NSGA-II and MOPSO. Then a decision-making process was conducted, using a fuzzy method to select a Pareto solution with which the best emission reductions can be achieved. The NSGA-II algorithm achieved reductions of at least 9.84%, 82.44%, and 13.78% for CO, HC, and NOx, respectively. With a MOPSO algorithm the reached reductions were at least 13.68%, 83.80%, and 7.67% for CO, HC, and NOx, respectively.

Extraction and stripping kinetics of copper （Ⅱ） by N902 using single drop technique

The kinetics of extraction and stripping of copper （Ⅱ） was investigated by the single drop technique with a new extractant N902 （a derivative of the salicylal-doxime） and the rate equations of extraction and stripping were derived, respectively. The apparent activation energies of extraction and stripping were estimated to be 20.14 kJ/mol and 30.0 k J/mol.     

Synthesis and anticonvulsant activity of some potent 5,6-bis aryl 1,2,4-triazines

In the present research, a series of 5,6-bis aryl 1,2,4-triazines 5a~5f were synthesized by condensation of various benzils 4a~4f with aminoguanidine bicarbonate and were screened in vivo, for their anticonvulsant and neurotoxicity studies. Compounds 5a, 5b and 5d were found to be potent molecules of this series, when compared with the reference drugs phenytoin sodium, diazepam and lamotrigine. The structures of these compounds were established by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and mass spectroscopic data.

The nonlinear dynamic characteristics of a pile embedded in a rock were investigated. Suppose that both the materials of the pile and the soil around the pile obey nonlinear elastic and linear viscoelastic constitutive relations. The nonlinear partial differential equation governing the dynamic characteristics of the pile was first derived. The Galerkin method was used to simplify the equation and to obtain a nonlinear ordinary differential equation. The methods in nonlinear dynamics were employed to solve the simplified dynamical system, and the time-path curves, phase-trajectory diagrams, power spectrum, Poincare sections and bifurcation and chaos diagrams of the motion of the pile were obtained. The effects of parameters on the dynamic characteristics of the system were also considered in detail.
