JA750型等离子体光谱仪测控系统的改造及应用

JA750型等离子体光谱仪测控系统的计算机换型、从PDP-8A-IBMPc286-通用微机，解决了专用计算机维修换件难的问题，保证了仪器正常运转，延长了该仪器使用寿命；操作系统升级，从PDP-8A机器语言→DOS操作系统→windows操作系统，解决了原机器语言操作系统功能落后的问题。该文对仪器改造前后的功能及技术指标进行了对比，并利用改造后的等离子体光谱仪进行了矿产勘查样品测试方法的研究，经国家一级标准物质（GBW）分析验证，该方法测量相对误差和相对标准偏差均在标准要求范围内，为矿产勘查样品系统，快速、大批量样品分析提供一种有效手段。

数学公式的计算机表达

数学公式由于使用特殊符号繁多,排版格式复杂多变,因而在计算机上处理特别困难,这也制约了利用计算机和网络开展数学辅助教学的发展。该文针对这一情况,介绍了如何利用计算机表示数学公式的各种方法:先介绍了常用的图形表示方法和使用字处理软件编写数学公式的方法;然后介绍了目前国际流行的数学排版标准语言Tex及其相关应用软件;最后介绍未来的数学公式表达语言MathML,这是一个基于XML语言的表示数学公式的新标准,虽然现在还处于制定和发展之中,但相信在不久的将来,MathML一定会成为数学公式表达的标准语言。

AN EMPIRICAL STUDY OF THE EFFECTS OF STANDARDIZING SCORES IN THE FORMATION OF LINEAR COMPOSITES1

Component scores with specified means, standard deviations and intercorrelations were generated by computer. Two linear composites were calculated; one using a given set of nominal weights with the raw component scores and the second using the same nominal weights with the standard component scores. Both sets of composite scores were scaled to the same mean and standard deviation. The distribution of differences between the two scaled composite scores was examined to determine the effect of standardization. Specifically, the standard deviation of the difference scores, the largest single difference, and the number of differences greater than two were related to the number and characteristics of the original components. Implications for practice are discussed.

IEEE standard for floating point numbers

Floating point numbers are an important data type in computation which is used extensively. Yet, many users do not know the standard which is used in almost all computer hardware to store and process these. In this article, we explain the standards evolved by The Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers in 1985 and augmented in 2008 to represent floating point numbers and process them. This standard is now used by all computer manufacturers while designing floating point arithmetic units so that programs are portable among computers.

计算机在物理实验教学中的测量应用

针对计算机硬件底层进行编程测控并非物理实验教学的主体内容，而且增加了教学实验室的维护负担；高度集成的自动化测量系统过于注重实验结果显示而忽视了物理过程分析，从而部分地带来了物理实验教学的被动局面。如何体现计算机“辅助教学”作用而不掩盖教学实验的物理实质，是物理实验教学中计算机应用必须考虑的首要因素。文章通过对计算机标准配置资源——声卡的性能检测及标定，使其达到物理实验测量数据定量分析的教学要求；利用免费的简易程序在“光泵磁共振测量”和“核磁共振弛豫测量”等项目的教学实践，展现了既充分利用教学资源又符合物理实验教学目的的计算机应用方法。

Computer-based compensation of adult reading disabilities

We studied the use of computer readers, and especially their speech synthesis component, as a compensatory tool for adults with dyslexia. We first explored the enhancement of reading skills in a group of college students and working adults. Their unaided reading was very slow, and most participants in the study could sustain reading for only short periods. Although their timed comprehension was poor, their untimed comprehension was above average. The computer reader enhanced the reading rate and comprehension of most participants and enabled them to sustain reading longer. The difference between aided and unaided reading rate was inversely proportional to the unaided rate. Slower readers experienced greater enhancement than faster ones. The enhancement of comprehension was also inversely proportional to unaided scores, and good predictions of the enhancement were obtained from multiple regression models that included scores from specific standard tests of auditory and visual cognitive abilities. We also explored the use of computer readers in the workplace and show through case studies that their use can have important positive effects on individual careers and self-confidence when specific conditions exist. Finally, we investigated the use of computer readers to supplement an adult remediation program. The readers allowed and motivated the students to read more and, as a result, to progress more rapidly. Support for this study was provided by Xerox, the Luke B. Hancock Foundation, and the Charles and Helen Schwab Foundation.     

ACCURACY OF SHORT-CUT ESTIMATES FOR STANDARD DEVIATION

The accuracy of short-cut estimates of standard deviation was investigated for distributions of raw scores on classroom tests and computer generated samples. Estimates proposed by Mason and Odeh, Jenkins, Diederich, Ebel, and Davenport were compared for relative accuracy in three studies. The loss in accuracy due to short-cut methods versus the conventional statistic ranged from 0 to 7,8%. Based on the findings of these studies, it is recommended that a shortcut method for computing standard deviations he included in courses where the conventional formula is taught.

电脑排版文字错误类型的语文例析

汉字电脑输入技术获得突破以后,印刷排版进入了电脑时代。同时这一新技术新产品的排版文字错误也出现了其自身所有的特点,主要有:语音输入中同音字错误;笔型输入中少码、多码、错码、字符对话框选择不当;汉字繁简转换、不识异体字致误等等。编辑的语文修养对减少此类错误起到关键作用。

高职院校计算机专业"师生工作室"教学模式遵循高职教育的素质本位观,可以增强学生的职业道德、责任感、职业个性、团队精神、创新素养和可持续发展的潜能,能够为高职院校计算机专业的良性发展提供有力保障。     

SeeWord—a personal word processing environment for dyslexic computer users

SeeWord is a highly configurable word processing environment, which assists dyslexic users when producing and reading text. The software was developed using a user-centred development cycle where user feedback contributed to each revision. Evaluations showed that users were able to find individualised combinations of settings using the specialised software, which they used in preference to the black-on-white text that is usually displayed on computer monitors. Three separate prototypes of the software were developed and evaluated. The third prototype was used in an experimental study with 6 dyslexic school pupils. The research showed that 5 out of the 6 dyslexic users aged 14–16 years benefited from the use of specialised software when reading text from a computer screen. Participants were able to read standard texts from a screen significantly more accurately with the aid of SeeWord. All participants reported that they felt they could read text from the screen better using the software. The results suggest that a larger scale evaluation of the software would provide valuable information about problems associated with computer use by people with dyslexia. A further study into the visual processes involved in dyslexia would also be of great value.
