对话理念对音乐学科教学的渗透研究

对话作为人类发展的重要交流沟通方式,其目的是通过对话重构人们自己与他人以及与世界之间的种种交流、表达与关联。对话理念可在音乐学科课堂教学中渗透运用,应引起广大音乐教育工作者的关注。     

A Study of linguistic Taboos in Intercultural Communication

As the globalization is rapidly developed,intercultural communication has become more and more intensified.When it comes to the case of taboo,it varies from one culture to another,thus,the violation of taboos will cause something unpleasant,like misunderstanding.So people should pay more attention to it.This essay just takes some linguistic taboos in Chinese and English to compare the two kinds of taboos to give deeper illustration to readers.It is hoped that the readers could make full use of this knowledge to communicate effectively in intercultural communication.     

模因论对培养中学生英语表达能力的启示

模因论（memetics）是基于达尔文进化论对文化进化规律作出阐释的一种理论,而语言模因概念的提出则揭示了话语传播和衍化的规律。通过对模因复制、传播方式的研究,我们认为培养中学生英语表达能力时,必须重视通过背诵强化语言材料的积累;口语和写作训练应当从模仿,尤其是思维方式的模仿开始;引入联想教学启发学生活学活用;构建学生用英语交流、交际的空间,提升学生英语语言的实际运用能力。     

Communication potential of pictorial illustrations

Summary As readability studies have investigated factors which influence the reading difficulty of verbal text, so this study has been a beginning attempt to isolate the factors which influence the communication potential of illustrative material. It is interesting to note that as readability researchers have found a correlational relationship between idea density (number of different ideas per number of running words) and reading difficulty, so this study has shown an inverse relationship between complexity of an illustration and its effectiveness in communicating clearly. Similarly, as readability studies show that we must use words that are familiar to the reader, so we must present visual concepts in terms of the background of experience of the intended viewer. And as in constructing effective textual material we must organize our material logically, eliminating the unnecessary, so we must simplify the design of illustration, taking care, of course, not to lose the essential. In this study the author presents some important insights into the factors that influence the communication potential of pictorial illustrations. Seth Spaulding is a program specialist of the Ford Foundation's field staff, currently advising the Burma Translation Society in Rangoon, Burma.

服装表演也被当作一种信息传播方式。笔者探讨其传播模式变化。在考察了服装表演的发展历程和媒介形态变化历程后,笔者认为两者的变化趋势大体一致。以此为基础,初步勾勒其两种传播模式示意图:以单向为主的传播模式和新媒体时代的传播模式,并认为模式的转变对服装表演的影响意义深远。     

Using video technology in emancipatory research

The writers of this paper are currently engaged in research concerning the lives of young adults who are multi-sensory impaired; they are particularly interested in the areas of communication and the development of meaningful relationships. Part of their fieldwork has involved the use of video recordings. The paper considers the use of video technology in qualitative research, together with the technical issues and ethical sensitivities which might be involved. The issue of emancipatory research is explored, with a particular focus on how this might be applied to research with people who have pronounced and complex disabilities and who use modes of communication which are idiosyncratic and mainly non-verbal. Finally, the writers describe their own work-in-progress in this area.     

On the relationship between society and higher education: what path should we take?

Abstract

The current network society, with its primacy of information and communication technologies, is challenging the higher education model. The needs and expectations of today’s students differ from those of students in the past, and educational practices should adapt to modern times. But what changes will we see in the relationship between societal transformation and the higher education system? In this research paper, we set out a quantum-based approach in order to analyze this relationship and to advance the understanding about the role that distance education will play in the future. Under this perspective, we provide an illustration that allows for the representation and evaluation of future scenarios.     

Creative listening

The purpose of this article is to: (1) identify the types of subjects used in published speech communication research; (2) report the results of a survey of 100 speech communication departments to determine existing practices and policies regarding the use of subjects in research; (3) explain the potential effects of existing subject selection practices on generalizing from research results; and, (4) provide methods for resolving generality problems arising from subject selection practices and policies. This review indicated excessive use of male college students and subjects enrolled in basic speech communication courses. The departmental survey indicated that most subjects participate as part of a course requirement. The generalizing of speech communication research to non‐college populations is questioned. It also is suggested that researchers should take more cognizance of ethical considerations when requiring subjects to participate in research projects.     

当代语用学的发展趋势——以认知语用学为个例分析

研究的主要目的在于追述当代语用学发展的总体趋势。根据近期国内外语用学的研究主题和探索路向,发现语用学的研究的已超出指示语、言语行为、会话含义等传统议题,日渐体现出语言使用的语用纵观论。其次,语言使用与理解的语用探索再也不是单向的语用学研究,与相关学科之间的交叉界面研究日益凸显。另外,语用与认知之间的相互结合和渗透,或从认知语用的视角分析言语交际,已成为当今语用学发展的一大主流。     

Model Mis-Specification In Assessing The Impact of Financial Aid on Academic Outcomes

The focus of the paper is the development of a novel conceptual framework that aims to remedy a critical mis-specification in prior research on the impact of financial aid on academic outcomes: the blending of the effect of aid eligibility with the influence of aid amounts on academic outcomes. To assess the impact of aid amounts received on college graduation while considering aid receipt status as an endogenous variable, I use the procedure of Instrumental Variable Probit. Empirical illustration of this model confirms that the interrelationships between aid eligibility and graduation mask the positive impact of financial aid on graduation.     

Design Research as a Mechanism for Consultants to Facilitate and Evaluate Educational Innovations

Schools across the nation are implementing innovative practices; however, questions remain regarding how to facilitate quality implementation. Research designs that emphasize high degrees of control over independent variables result in findings with internal validity, but that may not generalize to complex, dynamic educational systems. The purpose of this article is to propose a design research framework as a mechanism for consultants to facilitate and evaluate innovation implementation. Information on design research principles and processes is provided, and issues to consider when applying the framework are discussed. An illustration of how a design research framework was applied in a large-scale initiative to implement and evaluate Response to Intervention (RtI) implementation is also provided. Finally, issues and questions to consider relative to consultants' use of design research principles are explored.     

The development of an illustration design model

A method is described for isolating factors which influence the ability of a reader to comprehend the message of an illustration. It is suggested that a flow chart or model can be constructed from these factors to highlight potential problem stages in an author's design of an illustration. The model is constructed using data from comprehension trials and critical commentary with readers, incorporating a set of factors which would be of use to prospective authors of illustrations. The procedure is largely non-experimental and intended to demonstrate a procedure for model building.The research presented here formed part of his Doctor of Philosophy program at Griffith University, Brisbane, which was awarded in 1986.

语言的经济性是语言研究中的一个重要问题。文章通过具体实例,从"简化"和"优化"这两个概念入手,对语言的经济性进行了分析和讨论。文章认为,语言的经济性不应该被简单地等同于简化或优化,它应该是在认知与交际的驱动下对语言系统的自然调节。     

Focal event,contextualization, and effective communication in the mathematics classroom

The aim of this article is to develop analytical tools for studying mathematical communication in collaborative activities. The theoretical construct of contextualization is elaborated methodologically in order to study diversity in individual thinking in relation to effective communication. The construct of contextualization highlights issues of diversity in collaborative activities as it emphasizes how students may struggle differently with a learning activity. The interaction of students (12 to 13 years old), playing a specifically designed dice game, is used as an example for illustration. The article shows how accounting for the focal events of the interlocutors, and the contexts in which they contextualize these events, help in organizing our thinking about mathematically effective communication in collaborative activities.

Things Fall Apart and Come Together: Using the Visual for Reflection in Alternative Teacher Education Programmes

In this article, we focus on the use of the visual for reflection in ‘alternative’ pre‐service teacher education and, in particular, we address the question: How and what can we learn about teacher education using the visual? By way of illustration, we focus on the use of pre‐service teachers’ photographs in a public exhibition, participatory video documentary production and pre‐service teachers’ use of photographs in their professional teaching portfolios. The article draws from research done in relation to three alternative pre‐service teacher education projects based at McGill University in Canada and the University of KwaZulu‐Natal in South Africa.
