随着信息社会的到来,以计算机和网络为核心的现代信息技术的不断发展,正越来越深刻地改变着我们的生产、生活、工作和学习方式,它成了当今世界经济和社会发展的大趋势,各国纷纷把信息技术教育放到了提高国际竞争能力的战略地位,其应用的广度与深度已成为衡量一个国家科学技术和经济发展水平的一个重要标志。 为了加快我国中小学普及信息技术教育的步伐,教育部已于2000年发布了《关于加快中小学信息技术课程建设的指导意见》,并决定在2001年底前,全国普通高级中学和大中城市的初级中学都要开设信息技术必修课,并将其作为我国面向21世纪增强国际竞争力、提高全民素质、培养具有信息素质和创造素质的新型人才的一项重要举措。  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Information technology has numerous social and political implications. This paper is primarily concerned with beginning to outline some of the more important issues for teacher educators. An understanding of these implications is required before we, as teacher educators or as teachers in schools, can begin to address the issues in our work around information technology in colleges or in the classroom. This article outlines the issues rather than exploring how to present them in colleges.

There are important debates occurring around information technology, the nature of intelligence, and education, which have profound implications for society. This article argues that the kind of work done in schools on computers, and generally on information technology, supports implicitly the more traditional ideas in education. In order to take a more balanced position, and to give students a chance to realise how their futures may be affected, it is argued that the social implications of information technology must be addressed centrally in colleges of education.  相似文献

Despite the promise of technology in education, many practicing teachers face several challenges when trying to effectively integrate technology into their classroom instruction. Additionally, while national statistics cite a remarkable improvement in access to computer technology tools in schools, teacher surveys show consistent declines in the use and integration of computer technology to enhance student learning. This article reports on primary technology integration barriers that mathematics teachers identified when using technology in their classrooms. Suggestions to overcome some of these barriers are also provided.  相似文献

Computers are now a ubiquitous part of US elementary school education. With policy reports suggesting that inequities in information and communication technology (ICT) access across US schools are a thing of the past, investigating how such resources and their use may nonetheless continue to vary becomes all that much more important. Through a survey of a statistically representative sample of teachers in Ohio, this research examined computer use among third grade students, including in relation to an array of ICT resources and other key factors. The results indicated that such use was more sophisticated among students in affluent suburban schools when compared to students in all other locations, including various rural and urban locations. These differences were correlated with numerous ICT resource discrepancies. Overall, the discrepancies in ICT use and resources can be understood as not only symptomatic of persistent, broader social inequalities, but also factors that reinforce such inequalities as well.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

South African schools experience diverse access to educational technology. Further, South African educators have limited opportunities to attend educator professional development workshops focused on technology integration. These differences can have a tremendous impact on students’ educational experiences and educators’ levels of self-efficacy toward implementing technology in their school settings. To provide further support and training opportunities to educators in South African township schools, administrators are able to partner with nongovernmental organizations and institutions of higher education. This article provides an overview of South African educational contexts and how partnerships can be formed to provide educator support to integrate educational technology in township schools.  相似文献

This article presents a review of the literature, pertaining to technology accessibility in K–12 schools in the United States, in order to bring technology accessibility into conversations about equity in instructional technology with the goal of ensuring that disabled learners have equal access to the technology-enhanced learning opportunities that are an increasingly integral part of K–12 education. The findings of the review indicate that despite long-standing federal and state accessibility mandates, inaccessible technologies abound in K–12, denying disabled learners equal access to education. We conclude that technology accessibility is an equity concern that must be prioritized in instructional technology discourse, research, and practice to begin addressing the inequality that disabled learners face in technology-enhanced K–12 learning environments. Based on survey data and interview data collected over four academic years, this longitudinal study examined how a ubiquitous computing project evolved along with the changes in teachers, students, the human infrastructure, and technology infrastructure in the school. This study also investigated what conditions were necessary for successful ubiquitous computing and how these conditions changed at different stages of implementation. The results revealed that over the four academic years, this ubiquitous computing project had changed from a bold innovation to an integral component of everyday teaching and learning. Students’ use of the technology gradually matured, focusing more on learning-related activities. There were different issues and challenges regarding ubiquitous computing at different stages of implementation, and thus required continuous adjustment in the management and support system accordingly. Suggestions for practices and future research on ubiquitous computing are provided.  相似文献
