我校商务日语专业英语课程设置与教学模式分析

课程设置应当结合实际需求培养人才,一门课程开设的合理与否对学生学习本课程的效率和效果都会有极大的影响,本文分析了我校商务日语专业英语课程设置中存在的问题,并提出了合理开设英语课程的建议,同时对商务英语课程的教学模式也提出了新的设想。

Ease of grading and enrollments in secondary school science I. A model and its possible tests

Low enrollments in the physical sciences have been a professional concern for some time, primarily because of their adverse effect on the general education of high school students, but also because of their effect on the teaching of the physical sciences and their possible impact on vocational choice, notably that of potential teachers. A model that relates ease of grading in the sciences to science enrollments is presented. Its central assumption is that an appropriate measure of ease of grading in a science course is the discrepancy between students' grade values in the science course and their grade values in other academic subjects, averaged across students in the course. Consideration of possible tests of the model leads to the conclusion that the most sensible initial test will be provided by a correlational study of the effects of ease of grading, following the secondary career of students in a single graduating class from a number of high schools by using data in existing school records.     

SELECTION FOR UNIVERSITY STUDIES AND ECONOMIC COMPETITIVITY

Citing statistics from a recent OECD report on education, the author offers some generalizations with regard to the ways in which increasing economic competition will influence the functioning and the course programmes of higher education. Operations will have to become increasingly efficient, and course programmes, increasingly targeted towards the fulfillment of economic goals. Enrollments will have to expand to respond to the demand for highly trained manpower, the technical, economics, and management fields being particularly important. Counselling will play an increasingly crucial role in assuring that students make the best choices and withstand the rigours of what will be a tougher university life. Although European universities and course programmes are converging, a certain variety and the retaining of distinct cultural traditions will also be a source of competitivity.     

基于行业细分下的高职《运输包装》课程标准建设

Children’s Extracurricular Activities

Why do children learn in different ways: some are good students who show interest and zeal, while others are lazy and have to be taught against their will? Why do schools have over- and underachievers? Of course, there are a multitude of reasons. But almost 50 years ago it was shown using large data sets that families with high socioeconomic status are more likely to have children who are good students. Of course, there are many examples of successful students from poor families. However, they tend to be the exception to the rule. The certainty of success in school increases with rising socioeconomic status.

THE HISTORY OF AN INNOVATION

This paper is concerned with the processes and thinking that were involved in the development of a highly innovative BEd degree course within the modular course of Oxford Polytechnic. The rationale for the degree course will be considered, followed by a discussion of some of the processes involved in implementing that rationale. The development of a particular basic first year module will be looked at in depth as a case study illustration of innovative teaching, learning and assessment methods, including distance learning, peer teaching, self assessment, group projects, first hand research, analysis of group dynamics and critical enquiry.     

A Challenge for the Developer: Issues of interactivity and linguistic-cognitive appropriateness in English language learning

It is argued that language learning ought to be interactive. The traditional language classroom provides a favourable interactive situation for language learners. By contrast, the distance education mode is limited in some ways regarding language learning. Necessarily, distance education involves, primarily, self-learning. Face-to-face learning opportunities are scant compared with traditional classroom-based learning. It is, therefore, a challenge for language professionals to explore new ways of teaching language, the speaking skills in particular, within the constraints of the distance education mode. Being able to master English--an increasingly important international language--provides a key to information and learning societies in the 21 st century. In this paper, I will suggest some ways of maximizing the amount of interactive activities in English language distance learning, based on my work-based experience as a course developer of a new English enhancement course offered by the Open University of Hong Kong. I will focus on the development of listening and speaking skills, which are in fact the most problematic areas--the speaking skill, in particular, involves two-way communication. I will consider the issue from the perspectives of learners' motivation, peer support and technological support. Finally, I will present findings of a survey on the learners and tutors' feedback on the teaching materials of this new English language enhancement course.     

在高等数学课程中引入数学史教育的教法探讨与实践

高等数学是理工科学生的基础课程,而数学史教育是此课程中的重要组成部分,对学生更好地学习高等数学课程有积极作用。采用"在教学过程中穿插数学史教育"、"课后与学生交流数学史"、"在作业及考核环节中增加数学史部分"等方式,对高等数学课程进行了部分改良和推动,引入了数学史教育,在学生中取得了较好的反馈,教学效果也有较大提高。实践表明,在高等数学课程中引入数学史教育,能有效地提升高等数学课程的教育水平。     

关于求解功率问题时非周期函数用傅立叶级数展开的探讨

在“信号与线性系统”课程中,傅立叶级数和傅立叶变换是一个非常重要的内容,通过这些内容的学习,学生可以建立起信号频谱的概念,同时也可以理解线性系统的频域分析方法.而很多后续课程中需要利用其计算功率问题,有些概念很容易引起学生的混淆,本文提出了一个新的教学思路,有利于学生理解功率计算中傅立叶级数的应用,经验证效果良好.

作为一门大学课程的批判性思维,目前已经在世界先进的教育教学体系中占据极为重要的地位。但是,在国内,关于什么是批判性思维,批判性思维与高校素质教育之间的关系是什么等问题的探讨,还处于起步阶段。这势必对我国素质教育的推进带来负面影响,也不利于创新型国家的建设。
