18世纪末19世纪初,西方兴起了浪漫主义文学思潮,这种思潮迅即超越空间对中国新文学的成长和发展产生了很大的影响,从而使其表现出某些与之相似的特点.但是,由于中国作家所处的特定现实环境以及中国民族文化的积淀,又使中国的浪漫主义文学与西方浪漫主义更有不同.本文试从浪漫主义的精神与在文学创作上的具体表现、民族文化特征与现实环境等方面入手,对西方浪漫主义在中国的发展变异、中国新文学中表现的浪漫主义精神和创作特点与西方浪漫主义的相似点与相异点、中西浪漫主义文学家在气质上的本质性差异等问题作一简要的论述.     

论中国现代文坛误读西方浪漫主义的方式与逻辑

中国现代文坛对西方浪漫主义的误读,主要是在与"古典主义"、"写实(自然)主义"相对立的意义上来界定和阐释西方浪漫主义思潮的.这种阐释模式具有先验的二元对立特征,它导致认识的简单化与极端化,以致歪曲了浪漫主义的本来面目,贬低了其价值.而这又与中国现代浪漫主义文学遭受贬抑的命运不无关系.     

当代新道家的道统意识及其文化意义——兼论陈撄宁在中国文化史上的地位

当代新道家应该是站在时代前列,回应现代新儒家、新佛家和现代西方文明,以图复兴道家文化的一代大师。从这个意义上来讲,陈撄宁才是当之无愧的当代新道家的开拓型人物;继承自家文化的道统是中国传统文化代表人物普遍的心理历程,陈撄宁为代表的当代新道家构建新道家学说的努力与历史上的中国知识分子一样,是一种"经学忧患意识"形态之道统论的体现。在道教人才缺乏的现当代史上,陈撄宁代表了道家文化现代重构的洪大声音,体现了强烈的弘扬传统、复兴中国文化,引领世界文化潮流的强烈要求,其在中国思想和文化史上的地位,与新儒家的冯友兰和新佛学的太虚大师差可比拟,在现当代史上,陈撄宁先生是儒释道三家传统文化现代转型中道家文化现代转型的杰出代表,代表着一座三角鼎立的文化高峰。

二十世纪的中国文学是在西方思想与文学的影响下成长起来的,浪漫主义就是其中之一。但由于中国特有的国情与文化传统,中国的浪漫主义又表现出了其独有的特点。本文将以五四文学为例阐述西方浪漫主义在中国的影响与流变。

“跨语际实践”包括知识分子在中西方思想碰撞时的复杂思考、西方文本在中国本土语境中产生的新意涵以及由此表现出来的译介者本人的能动性。梅光迪追求的“真理”与白璧德的新人文主义有密切关联,但无法直接画等号。白璧德努力将新人文主义与宗教相区别,而梅光迪却径往“儒教”形态跃进。造成差异的原因是二人面临不同的世界和困境,即白璧德着眼于世界文化,而梅光迪注重中国文化。作为学衡派舵手,梅光迪虽受惠于新人文主义,并借由“人文精神”横跨中西,使其理论具备“现代”和“国际”性质,但却蕴藏了超越新人文主义的潜能,沿着原有的中国传统文化脉络,生长出更多的可能性。这对于建构中国式现代化文学思想,也极富启发性意义。

吴宓的古典主义文学观受到了白璧德新人文主义观极为深刻的影响.白璧德所指的“模仿”并不是一种形式主义的模仿,而是一种“创造性”的模仿.吴宓接受了白璧德的模仿论,认为作家创作、民族文学的发展均离不开模仿;吴宓接受了白璧德对浪漫主义的批评思想,认为浪漫主义和现代主义没有反映正常的人性,从而对其采取否定态度;吴宓接受了白璧德关于文类简洁、鲜明的相关观点,严格区分了诗与文的界限.
