近年来，东南亚国家在图书馆实体发展、改善服务、从事研究、培养人才、信息资源保护等方而均取得了不少成绩。他们的不少经验值得我们参考与借鉴。

A first introduction to archival science

This first introduction, written for educational purposes, is meant to be a concise basic text in which the core concepts of archival science are coherently defined and explained, in a non-polemical way and departing from a de-institutionalised point of view. It is not intended to support or reject any single theory, but to provide an overview. It should be read as a synthesis of a variety of shared ideas and views, not as a manifesto of a new approach to archival science. If there is anything new to it, it might be located in the coherent and integrated presentation. In this primer of archival science annotation has been avoided. The first of several versions of this First Introduction was written in August 1995. It was meant to meet the need of the Netherlands Archiefschool for a basic text on archival science which could support its different programs for archival education and training. After ample discussion with the archival science teachers of the Archiefschool, it was introduced in the 1995/1996 courses. From then on, it has been used in almost all courses and classes on archival science on the undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels and in several training and retraining programs of the Archiefschool. The design of the first version has been maintained in all subsequent versions, including this last one. Still, the text has frequently been adapted as a result of discussions with students and colleagues, in and outside the school. This first English version can almost be deemed as a collective product. Of the numerous colleagues who were engaged in this discussion and contributed to the text, special mention has to be made of Peter Horsman, Hans Scheurkogel, Hans Hofman, Eric Ketelaar, Herman Coppens and Kent Hayworth, who commented the English version. For the final text and all imperfections that may still cling to it I am, of course, responsible. 通过对国内外学术期刊刊登作者简介情况的对比分析,发现刊登论文作者简介是国内外学术期刊的普遍做法,但侧重的内容却截然不同,因而提出如下建议:1)作为科学技术信息载体和传播工具的学术期刊,应该刊登作者简介;2)刊登作者简介的内容除现有要素外,还应尽量刊登通信作者的联系方式,以便与国外接轨,便于交流;3)刊登作者简介要"以人为本",要充分保护作者的隐私权,尊重作者的个人意愿,建议与作者签订一个意向书.

Publishing at the library of congress: A brief history

With generous support from Congress and the American people, the Library of Congress has become the largest library in the world. Its extensive and varied publishing programs reflect the growing demands of its many and diverse consituencies; the innovative uses of new technologies; and the institution’s efforts, especially in the last decade, to reach broader and more general audiences. Recent projects include the first steps in digitizing and making available selected portions of the Library’s historical collections; the first sustained effort to develop cooperative endeavors with trade publishers; and the launching ofCivilization: The Magazine of the Library of Congress. This brief history outlines the evolution of publishing at the Library of Congress, from an eight-page booklist published in 1801 to the cooperative public-private programs and electronic products of the 1990s. John Y. Cole has been director of the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress since it was established in 1977.     

高校图书馆报纸利用现状及回归传统价值略论

目前,在数字化报纸的冲击下,高校图书馆印刷型报纸存在读者群日益流失的问题。高校图书馆应深入挖掘传统报纸自身价值,利用传统报纸特点整合信息资源,发挥其有效作用。
