从顶尖学生评选看约克大学的文化

2009年初冬,受江苏政府留学奖学金资助,我进入加拿大约克大学的ROBARTSCENTRE担任访问学者。当时,约克大学刚评选出2009年度的10名顶尖学生,他们像明星一样出现在校园网站和杂志上,引起了我的关注,而正是这样的关注使我对约克大学的校园文化和大学精神有了最初的认识和思考。

英国约克大学课程网络辅助教学的经验与启示

随着信息技术的发展,计算机与网络已成为现代高等教育的重要支撑与手段。本文介绍了英国约克大学Yorkshare学习管理系统的功能与应用。与国内高校相比,约克大学教师在充分利用网络进行课程辅助教学方面优势明显,他们在课堂外与学生建立起密切的联系,加深学生对教学内容的理解,拓展学生的知识面,提高学生的自学和反思能力。国内高校应借鉴国外经验,采取措施促进网络教学平台的应用并通过网络提供详细的课程信息,进行教学反馈。

本文在收集整理加拿大现代远程教育资料的基础上,针对其远程教育的发展,介绍了其起源,规模和方式,并分析了约克大学以学生为中心的现代远程教育特点及对我国高校发展现代远程教育的启示。

加拿大约克大学的办学经验与启示

约克 (York)大学成立于1959年 ,是目前加拿大的第三大大学。2002年10月至2003年10月 ,我作为教育部公派访问学者在约克大学地球与大气科学系研修 ,旁听了4门本科 (研究生 )专业课程 ,作为指导教师参加了测绘工程专业二年级学生的野外测量实习 ,参与完成了全球地球动力学项目 (GlobalGeodynamicProgram)的部分研究工作。在访问期间 ,同导师、部分学生就测绘工程专业人才引进 ,科学研究、课程教学和学生培养等方面进行了广泛的交流与探讨 ,通过多渠道的参与、感受和对比 ,我感到从以下几方面可以借鉴约克大学的办学经验 ,在一定程度上对我国…     

大学校长全球峰会

为了响应联合国秘书长安南提出的“高等院校应该更多地参与国际公共政策和事务”倡议,纽约地区5所高校发起成立了大学校长全球峰会。首届峰会于2005年1月18日至19日在哥伦比亚大学举行,全球著名研究型大学的40多位校长和学者参加了会议,并于6月27日发表了《学术自由宣言》,倡议全球大学校长联合签名,共同创建自己认同的学术自由氛围和环境。     

The new model school of education: Thomson,Moray House and Teachers College,Columbia

The University of Edinburgh and Moray House teachers’ college began to develop a new model of research and teaching, institutionalised in a combined university department and teachers’ college, with a research laboratory and advanced research degree in the 1920s. This new institution was modelled on the innovative and influential Teachers College, within Columbia University, New York, and was driven by a strong Scottish demand for advanced practice in education. It benefited from, and was shaped by, its new head, Godfrey Thomson, and his capability and leadership produced a model of a school of education that would be radical today had it survived the 1950s.     

论大学与大学章程

大学章程,在一所大学的各项规章制度之中是纲领性的,是层次最高的。自2012年初,教育部要求全国各高等学校制定各自的章程以来,对于大学章程的研究已成为一个热点。我国已有几所大学制定了自己的章程。毋庸置疑,大学章程对于一所大学的制度化管理是十分重要的。然而,大学与大学章程之间的关系包括大学章程与大学理念之间的关系究竟怎样,大学章程对于一所大学的地位、意义及作用等,还是值得探讨的。     

法人化后日本大学内部治理结构研究——以东京大学为例

采用制度分析法,研究日本国立大学法人化后的内部治理结构。从东京大学内部治理结构可以看出,以立法为保障、以校长为核心、以各级评议会为制衡的领导体制,教授自主权力,社会紧密联系等是日本国立大学治理中值得借鉴的几个重要方面。     

Interpreting a Community of Practice Perspective in Discipline-Specific Professional Development in Higher Education

Through this study we explored a community of practice framework applied to faculty professional development at a mid-size state university in order to examine the issues unique to discipline-specific professional development in higher education. Through content-focused professional development activities conducted by the authors, several key areas were identified that point to challenges in building a faculty community of teaching practice: (a) the need for a culture of professional development, (b) developing old-timers and recruiting newcomers, (c) the need for teaching scholars to coordinate professional development, (d) challenging the “culture of service”, and (e) the need for a language to mediate thinking about practice. Maria Blanton  received a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from North Carolina State University. She is currently a Senior Executive Research Associate in the Kaput Center and an Associate Professor in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Dept at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Her research interests focus on applications of sociocultural theory in understanding teaching and learning mathematics in both elementary grades and higher education. Despina Stylianou  received an Ed.D. in mathematics education from the University of Pittsburgh. She is Associate Professor in the Department of Secondary Education at the City College of New York. Her research interests are in the area of mathematical cognition; her work explores the mathematical skills, sensibilities, and habits of mind and action that are critical to doing, learning, and using mathematics proficiently.     

The rise of risk management in the universities: a new way to understand quality in university management

This study aims to identify how uncertainty and insecurity in the post-2008 period have reshaped risk management in the university systems. The study scrutinises internal control in the contexts of the English university system and the State University of New York (SUNY) system. It utilises the concept of ‘risk’ by exploring ‘risk society’ theses. The paper argues that uncertainty, anxiety and distrust following the 2008 financial crisis did not reshape the risk management mechanisms in England and the SUNY system. The adaptive reactions of these university systems against the crisis were immediate responses to fiscal shortage, rather than reforming of their internal control mechanisms. This suggests that the uncertain environment may thrust the universities into a reflexive mode; however, it is not necessary to bring about substantial structural changes.     

为公共利益而转移技术——加州大学技术转移的政策演进与组织运行分析

作为在技术转移方面成就卓著的公立研究型大学,加州大学从建校之初就将技术转移作为大学服务于公共利益的内在使命,并在长期的实践中发展出系统的知识产权政策,建立了结构完善、分工协调的技术转移机构,形成了集权与分权并存的运行机制.这套系统在高效转移和应用加州大学科研成果的同时,合理规避了公立大学在参与技术转移过程中潜在的政治、法律与财务风险.加州大学技术转移服务于公共利益的目标取向及其相应的制度安排,为我国公立研究型大学提供了重要启示.     

日本研究型大学的架构——以京都大学为例

加强大学的研究功能是日本科技立国的一项重要措施,促成了一批以研究生教育为主的研究型大学的结构调整和学术发展。京都大学的教育理念和组织体系在日本国立大学中最具典范性。大学法人化改革优化了学术研究的自由环境,研究生院重点化工作加强了研究型大学的研究功能,改良后的大讲座制更有利于研究型人才的培养。日本提高大学创新能力的经验和做法对我国大学的体制改革具有借鉴意义。

Abstract：

To strengthen the advanced research in universities is an important science and technology policy in Japan.This policy contributes to the structural adjustment and academic development of several universities which mainly focus on post-graduate education.Kyoto University can be regarded as a typical model of the universities subjected to this policy due to its educational philosophy and organizational system.The focus of graduate school enhances the university＇s research capability.Improved large Academic Chair system help bringing up research talents,and university legal personalization reform optimized the academic environment.Their experience in improving university innovation can be a good reference for Chinese university.     

论华东师大作家群与大学校园文化建设

自华东师范大学建校以来,走出了诸多优秀作家,他们在当代文学园地里的辛勤耕耘,不断丰富着华东师大(尤其是师大中文系)的文化内涵,成为这所著名师范大学的美丽名片。"华东师大作家群"这一概念的形成,经历了几个阶段。这个作家群的形成与华东师大的人文传统、校园文化、时代风潮以及出版社、杂志社的辅助与支持密不可分。
