在信息社会中 ,弱势群体的信息获取问题开始引起人们的关注。本文对弱势群体进行了界定和划分 ,分析了城市弱势群体的特点、信息需求及信息获取中存在的障碍与原因 ,并提出了解决此问题的一些建议。

In 2010, the Civilians—a New York based investigative theater company—received a three‐year grant from the National Science Foundation to develop The Great Immensity, a play addressing the complexity of climate change. The rigorous research that the Civilians puts into each production, the balance of scientific content and public engagement, the inclusion of scientists within the artistic development process, and the effort to engage a varied audience via a multi‐platform media approach, make the project a relevant case study for curators working with public science communication.

Situated Knowledge and the Virtual Science and Industry Museum: Problems in the Social-Technical Interface

The Museum is a perspicuous site for analysing the complex interplay between social, organisational, cultural and political factors which have relevance to the design and use of virtual technologies. Specifically, the introduction of virtual technologies in museums runs up against the issue of the situated character of information use. Across a number of disciplines (anthropology, sociology, psychology, cognitive science) there is growing recognition of the situatedness of knowledge and its importance for the design and use of technology. This awareness is fostered by the fact that technological developments are often associated with disappointing gains for users. The effective use of technology relies on the degree to which it can be embedded in or congruent with the local practices of museum users. Drawing upon field research in two museums of science and technology, both of which are in the process of introducing virtual technologies and exploring the possibilities of on-line access, findings are presented which suggest that the success of such developments will depend on the extent to which they are informed by detailed understanding of practice-practices that are essentially socially constituted in the activities of museum visitors and the daily work of museum professionals.

论博物馆教育活动的可持续发展——以首都博物馆青少年教育活动为例

<正>近年来,许多博物馆纷纷通过开展各种形式的教育活动来吸引众多观众到馆参观,以形成主动的多元化教育服务模式,拓展博物馆的教育功能。然而这其中许多的教育活动虽然造势轰动,人潮不断,但只是热闹一阵,无法持久保持下去,犹如昙花一现。本文试在探讨博物馆教育活动可持续发展必要性的基础上,以首都博物馆(以下简称首博)青少年教育活动探索的实践为例,提出博物馆教育活动目前所存在的问题和对策。     

苏州博物馆藏潘氏著述稿本述略

清苏州潘氏家族自乾隆朝起,百余年人才辈出。留存诗赋、辞章和文物甚多,成为研究清中后期江南乃至中国政治、历史、文学、艺术和社会史的重要史料。苏州博物馆馆藏潘氏族人相当数量的稿抄校本,是地方文献和清史研究不可多得的财富。兹选取较有代表性者稍做介绍,以了解其梗概。

A Proposed Solution to the Scholarly Communications Crisis

ABSTRACT

After reviewing the history and parameters of the scholarly communications crisis, particularly in regard to skyrocketing prices for journals in the natural sciences, the author reviews and rejects previously attempted solutions. He then employs the principles of game theory in proposing a new solution to the crisis.     

古建园林类博物馆陈列思考——以东莞可园博物馆陈列特色为例

东莞可园是第五批全国重点文物保护单位,为清代广东四大名园之一,同时也是岭南画派重要策源地之一。可园博物馆新馆则是以东莞可园园林建筑为依托,收藏、研究、展示岭南古典园林建筑、“二居”及岭南画派作品,传播岭南建筑文化和岭南画派艺术的专题性博物馆。新馆于2004年开始筹建,并于2008年正式对外开放。现笔者就可园博物馆的陈列特色为例,谈谈关于古建园林类博物馆的陈列思考。     

研究和解决图书馆学会工作新问题的实践与体会

江苏省图书馆学会成立20多年来,一直面临着一个生存与发展的问题,省一级图书馆学会面临的最大问题是学会经费的短缺.学会开展任何活动都需要经费,学会活动经费来源主要是挂靠单位的少量资助和会员交纳的会费,靠这点经费学会工作不可能有大的发展.十几年来,我会之所以有所发展,主要是学会理事长和秘书处的同志主动适应改革开放的形势,解放思想,转变观念,克服"等、靠、要"的思想,不断研究和解决学会工作中遇到的新问题,保证了学会的健康发展.     

Portal to the Public: Museum Educators Collaborating with Scientists to Engage Museum Visitors with Current Science

Science museums play a role in creating visitor experiences that relate to contemporary issues in science, and in linking audiences to the scientific enterprise and the community of scientists. In the Portal to the Public approach, science researchers are trained by museum educators with experience in inquiry‐based learning, and are then given opportunities to translate their current research for museum audiences. Portal to the Public offers one solution to museums seeking to sustain a commitment to delivering experiences that reflect the dynamic pace of research, and the need to connect local communities to scientific research occurring in their midst.
