人类知识类型可以归纳为陈述性知识和程序性知识.案例教学法指借由案例作为教材,结合教学主题,透过讨论、问答等师生互动的教学过程,让学习者领会与教学主题相关的概念或理论,并培养学习者高层次能力的教学方法.案例教学法强调的实际的知识符合陈述性知识,并可以补充或说明陈述性知识,但是,案例所提供的知识类型有其局限性和相对性.所以案例教学法并不是适用于所有知识类型的教学,而比较适用于程序的知识类型的教学.
