Latin American Theology and Religious Pluralism: A Latin American Voice

This article summarizes recent efforts by Latin-American theologians concerned with developing a pluralist theology of liberation. The author highlights some of the most significant issues and themes of this emerging theological reflection among liberation theologians. Finally, he identifies some of the challenges a pluralist theology of liberation raises for our task as religious educators in North America.     

The Pedagogy of Teaching Educational Vision: A Vision Coach's Field Notes About Leaders as Learners

The emerging field of educational visioning is full of challenges and phenomena worthy of careful analysis and documentation. A relatively neglected phenomenon is the learning curve of the leaders (often lay leaders) involved in the visioning process. This article documents a range of experiences of the author serving as a vision coach to five different institutions. The importance of treating the educational leaders involved in the process as learners is a consistent theme across five institutions. The tendency in the field is to think of them as transformative agents for congregational change. The author argues that this admirable goal can only occur with considerable attention to the pedagogy of teaching vision. This is a particular challenge given the highly abstract and conceptual framework of the volume Visions of Jewish Education (Marom, Fox, & Scheffler, 2003 Fox, S., Marom, D. and Scheffler, I. 2003. Visions of Jewish education, Cambridge, , UK: Cambridge University Press. [Crossref] , [Google Scholar]), which often serves as the “text” for the visioning process.     

行动者网络理论:教育研究的新视界

奠基于事物为本哲学的行动者网络理论在过去的三十年间被广泛应用于社会科学领域,并对以非还原论实质观为核心的关系本体论、以认识论同等效力原理为旨趣的政治认识论、以"行动者网络"为基础的社会科学方法论的形成与开创创造了条件。行动者网络理论主要由"行动者"、"转译"、"网络"和"网络效应"等核心概念所组成,作为一种新的认识论视角和复杂对象的理论分析方法,它撼动了教育研究之还原论基石,使其直面教育实践;重构已有的教育学基本概念,还抽象符号以本真;去教育学的人类与社会中心化,拓展新的研究域;最终发展起具体的描述分析方法,跟随行动者重组教育。     

The scholarship of university-community engagement: Interrogating Boyer's model

Albeit with different conceptualisations, the engagement between universities and external communities continues to gain significant currency. While the emphasis has been on more socio-economic relevance in a period of significant financial constraints and a changing clientele, a more significant area of engagement has been on promoting the scholarship of engagement towards regional/local development. The praxis and outcomes of community engagement continues to be surrounded by strong debate on issue such as its impact on the core functions of the university, teaching and research. This article sheds light on the community engagement practices from a case-study university in Africa. Using Ernest Boyer's proposed scholarship of engagement model as a framework, findings provide evidence that, different contextual specificities affect the way university-community engagement practices evolve. The methodology involved an analysis of primary and secondary data collected through interviews with policy and academic staff. The article concludes with an argument that the success of university-community engagement in fostering social and economic development significantly relates to how much the practices of engagement is foregrounded in the universities’ core policy and practice. But also on how much academic scholarship draws on engagement activities. The challenge lies in ensuring this balance.

Ernest L. Boyer and the American Christian College: Historical Considerations

This article explores the historical roots of Ernest Boyer's impact on Christian higher education in the United States. Boyer's stints as a student at two Christian colleges (Messiah College in Pennsylvania and Greenville College in Illinois) and his first faculty and administrative posts at Upland College in California were significant influences in the development of his vision for the Christian college—a vision that led to greater legitimacy and credibility in the landscape of American higher education. Ernest Boyer's innovative, yet historic understanding of the distinctives of Christian higher education contributed to the successful accreditation process of nearly one hundred small, private institutions.     

The Cultures of Social Class and Religious Educational Practice

Although social class impacts the assumptions, values, and normative practices of Religious Education, the lack of public discourse on class diminishes awareness of and critical reflection on this impact. This article describes social class as a largely unarticulated and embodied performance of identity inflected through hierarchical practices of race, gender, and commodity consumption. The author provides examples of the impact of social-class bias on the practice of Religious Education in the context of youth ministry.

公共管理学是一门研究公共组织,尤其是政府组织管理的活动学科。随着社会发展形态的不断变革,公共管理作为一门新的管理学科,相继在各国政府与社会的治理中应运而生。现代公共管理学在我国综合治理的具体运用中也出现了管理性质、管理范围、管理内容和管理方式的新变化。本文在公共管理学原有发展模式的基础上,对适应时代发展的现代公共管理学的研究对象、性质与发展方式做出了初步的分析,旨在更好地促进我国现代公共管理学更好地完成转型与创新。     

多维视野中的教学关系

教学存在是教学关系和教学实体的辩证统一体 ,教学关系存在并体现于教学实体的相互作用亦即教学活动之中 ,决定教学存在及其本质的是教学关系而不是教学实体。从本体论、认识论、存在论等不同的维度考察 ,可以发现不同的教学关系类型。对教学论关系的多维度分析 ,勾勒出一幅关于教学存在的立体网络图景。     

Spiritual Development in Public and Religious Schools: A Case Study

This article addresses teachers' understanding of spiritual development in public and religious schools in Boston and Chicago. It examines how teachers define spiritual development in different educational contexts and looks at the way they relate spirituality to a number of factors including community, identity, and character. The data from the research indicates that teachers understood spiritual development within the specific environment of their school but that they all located the need for spirituality within education as part of the reaction against the perceived negative side effects of modern society.     

专家视野中的区域教育发展战略与西部教育政策 --运用德尔菲咨询法进行的调查分析

以西部大开发五年多来的教育发展为背景,采用德尔菲咨询法,调查了国内30位专家对区域教育发展战略选择和西部教育政策调整方向的意见。多数专家认为,在区域教育发展战略的选择上,应当均衡地普及九年义务教育以及高中阶段教育,非均衡地调整高等教育布局,促使国家扶持、东部地区支持与西部地区自身努力有机结合,坚持走区域特色发展、分类推进的路子。在西部教育政策的调整上,要加强中央政府政策与西部地方政府政策之间的配套;进一步协调部门政策,以切合西部教育发展实际;加强中央政策的法律支撑体系和良性运行机制建设;采取不同方式处理东、中、西部及西部内部地区之间的关系;健全投入体制,深化办学体制改革和制度创新。
