虚拟现实学习环境的作用、挑战以及应对策略

虚拟现实技术可以创设沉浸式、交互式与创造式三种学习环境,具有激发学习者动机、实现情境学习、辅助思维与情感教育、促进个性化学习等作用。目前,虚拟现实学习环境在技术本身、资源建设、教师教学、学习者学习等方面均存在一定的挑战。为了应对这些挑战,文章建议成立VR行业协会,制定行业标准,攻克技术难关;抓好VR学习资源的顶层设计、资源开发以及评价标准;完善VR学习环境下的教学设计,开展教师培训,促进学习者学习方式和态度的转变,使得VR学习环境在未来学习中成为一种有效、便捷的学习环境。     

My Ladies Aren't Interested in Learning: Managers, Supervisors and the Social Context of Learning

This paper is based on a research project which examines the opportunities for and barriers to workplace learning amongst low-grade staff in the UK public sector. It examines the key role of managers and supervisors, who make many of the decisions about individuals' access to learning opportunities. Their perception of staff's willingness and need to learn is influenced by factors such as age, gender or the likelihood of career development. It is these managers who control the immediate work environment and the flow of information about learning opportunities. Innovative examples of workplace learning are described, yet the paper concludes that the reality for many low grade manual and routine clerical staff continues to be one of limited opportunities for workplace learning.

数码印刷教学中半实物仿真实训方案的设计与实践

随着印刷技术的不断提高 ,行业对设备使用和维护人才提出了新的要求 .但是 ,目前各高等院校在印刷技术训练上存在实训设备不足、型号落后的现象 ,尤其是难以解决昂贵的数码印刷设备的拆装维修的实训问题 .本文提出运用虚拟技术开展数码印刷技术的半实物仿真训练的方案 .

The Development and Use of Literacy Portfolios for Students,Classes, and Teachers

Portfolio assessment is one of the most interesting and widely discussed of the new alternative assessments. In this paper we explore the portfolio metaphor as it is applied to literacy portfolios. We suggest that portfolios provide a powerful tool for the enhancement of instruction and assessment, addressing educators' concerns about authentic assessment, documentation of academic progress, and teacher and student involvement. However, we caution that there are many important and unresolved issues that must be confronted if portfolio assessment is to succeed. Fundamental issues of validity and reliability must be addressed as well as practical issues of implementation, standard setting, sufficient resources, and teacher expertise. We argue that the ultimate success of portfolios will rest on our ability to communicate portfolio-based assessment information to others. We offer the teacher's class portfolio as a promising strategy for aggregating and reporting information, while preserving the integrity of individual student portfolios and teacher judgment. Whether the emphasis is on individual student portfolios or classroom portfolios, educators must be committed to the staff development and additional research that portfolio assessment demands.     

A One-year Case Study: Understanding the Rich Potential of Project-based Learning in a Virtual Reality Class for High School Students

This paper presents a qualitative case analysis of a new and unique, high school, student-directed, project-based learning (PBL), virtual reality (VR) class. In order to create projects, students learned, on an independent basis, how to program an industrial-level VR machine. A constraint was that students were required to produce at least one educational application of VR. This study incorporated in-depth classroom observations, interviews with students, analyses of student projects, and surveys of parents and teachers to examine the social and learning processes in the class, and the nature of content learning represented in student projects. The results demonstrated that PBL can be effective even with minimal teacher guidance. The findings substantiate an educational approach rich with promise, for at least some students, that deserves considerable additional study to maximize its powerful potentials for independent and peer-mentored learning.     

以德治国与高校学生的人文素质教育

江总书记在今春召开的全国宣传部长会议上的讲话,除了强调依法治国和科教兴国之外,还提出了“以德治国”的思想。针对当前高校学生的人文素质和思想道德状况,我们认为这一思想对高等学校思想政治教育工作和德育工作具有很强的理论和现实指导意义。高等学校应当以德育工作为核心,加强学生的人文素养教育,使自己所培养的人才成为有理想、有文化、有道德、有纪律的“四有”人才。     

Expanding the Learning Network: How Teachers Use Pinterest

This exploratory qualitative study of 117 teachers explores how educators engage with Pinterest, an online social networking site, specifically asking: (1) What similarities and differences exist in how elementary-level preservice and elementary-level in-service teachers engage with Pinterest? (2) What similarities and differences exist in how secondary-level in-service teachers and elementary-level in-service teachers engage with Pinterest? Findings indicate teachers at all levels tend to use Pinterest to search for educational resources and adapt resources to suit their classroom needs. Preservice teachers identify a more complex interaction with Pinterest than in-service teachers when determining quality resources. Findings indicate a need for future research into teacher education practices and the complex interactions preservice teachers engage in with Pinterest resources.
