Designing Procedural Graphics for Surgical Patient-Education Modules: An Experimental Study

To understand how readers approach mechanical procedural instructions, this study tested surgical patient-education modules for the effectiveness of route and survey spatial perspectives in text. The results showed that subjects' ability to comprehend an intricate procedural action in surgery varies with learning styles and task approach along with different text-graphic perspectives. Overall, survey perspective worked better than route perspective in text. Readers' self-reporting of task difficulty and the effects of practicing did not notably affect their judgment.

开发、编制一套适合于成人学习者自学的教学资源,是每一位从事远程教育的教师义不容辞的责任.本人作为电大教师,已主持编制了生物学科10余门课程文字与录像教材.反思成功与失败的经历,得出一条重要的结论--巧妙地运用图表是编制适合远程自学教材的成功经验之一.     

Designing an Affordable Usability Test for E‐Learning Modules

ABSTRACT: This article provides background and an introduction to a user‐centered design and usability test in an inexpensive format that allows content experts who are novices in e‐learning development to perform testing on newly developed technical training modules prior to their release. The use of a small number of test participants, avoidance of elaborate testing laboratories, and the establishment of clear, concise objectives with a detailed test outline are supported by the discount usability testing approach. This approach reduces testing cost, provides faster results, and yields a more successful product and increased customer satisfaction. Discount usability testing should have broad appeal to new e‐learning developers as a final step before releasing their newly developed training modules.     

图形图像及多媒体类课程的实验教学体系研究

本文在研究不同专业、层次学生开出课程内容的基础上，以实验教学改革为突破口，提出了图形图像及多媒体类课程内容改革的具体方法和思路。通过对课程实验内容重新修订和改革，构建新的实验教学体系，确保在教学中既考虑到不同专业学生和不同层次学生的知识背景，又照顾到学生在基础知识和实践技能上平衡关系，从而对课程教学起到积极的推动作用。     

计算机图形学实验教学平台构建

由于计算机图形学的课程特点,当前其实验教学多停留在对相关算法的编程验证阶段,设计性和综合性实验效果较差,教学方法与实践应用严重脱节。为了解决这些问题,构建了面向矿业类高校学生的计算机图形学实验教学平台,学生使用该平台不但可以完成验证性实验,而且通过平台提供的"地下病害信息三维可视化"和"地层数据三维可视化"两个实验教学子系统,可以较好地完成设计性和综合性实验。这种将计算机图形学基本理论与行业应用实践相结合的实验教学方式,有力地激发学生的学习热情。教学实践表明,该平台有效地提高了学生理论与实践结合的能力,改善了教学质量。     

综合与设计性生物化学实验教学研究

对综合与设计性生物化学实验的特点、目的、意义和教学要求等作了具体分析,并对学生如何选题以及教师怎样指导综合与设计性生物化学实验的教学提出了建设性意见。     

Teacher Accountability: An Experimental Field Study

An experimental field study was conducted to examine the impact of accountability on effectiveness in the teaching of physical education. Accountability was constructed through the introduction of a system of reporting and feedback between the teachers and the professional supervisor on two levels of intensity, high and low. Findings show that the institution of the accountability system improved the participant teachers' effectiveness as compared with control group teachers. Improvement in students' achievements was more evident in girls than in boys. The accountability system constructed for this study may be applied not only in physical education but in other educational areas as well.     

提高综合性设计性实验的教学效果的探讨

本文分析了综合性设计性实验效果不理想的原因,结合具体实例讨论了实验项目的建设方法。提出了实验重点内容的选择应有利于学生拓展应用范围,而实验目标的选择应与学生实际水平相一致。从硬件准备、知识准备、软件准备等几方面阐明如何完善实验条件,而实验前的准备、实验中的监控、实验后的检查将实验的过程管理落到实处。     

计算机图形学实验教学的改革和探索研究

通过分析影响教学质量的因素,提出在计算机图形学的实验教学中采用实验难度分级制、实验题目防作弊式设计、实验学生动态分层制、合理有效的激励制度等实验教学改革措施,进而得出采用以上诸措施后所取得的良好效果。     

谈课本中实验插图的题型设计

充分利用插图可帮助学生"认识化学事物,掌握有关化学知识,陶冶学生情操,培养学生智力因素".因此,近几年各地中考中,把课中的实验插图进行加工,以考查学生综合运用能力.现将实验插图的题型设计作分类举例说明,以引起教师和学生注意.     

Scenario-Based Assessments in Writing: An Experimental Study

Writing from source text is critical for developing college-and-career readiness because it is required in advanced academic environments and many vocations. Scenario-based assessment (SBA) represents one approach to measuring this ability. In such assessment, the scenario presents an issue that the student is to read and write about. Before writing, lead-in exercises are presented to encourage the examinee to engage with the source materials and to model the process used in a classroom writing project. This study experimentally manipulated a middle-school assessment design to understand if (1) the lead-in/essay structure increased scores erroneously with a concomitant decrease in test technical quality, and (2) the presence of a single unifying scenario affected scores or score meaning. In general, the SBA design did not appear to artificially increase total-test or essay scores. As importantly, it functioned as well as, sometimes better than, the alternative designs in terms of the measurement characteristics examined.     

玻璃工艺实验教学模块的设计

玻璃行业的振兴需要一批高级应用型专业技术人才,给高等学院实验教学带来巨大的环境压力。通过探索实践,建立了玻璃工艺实验教学四个模块,即玻璃配合料制备模块、玻璃熔制成型退火模块、玻璃成品性能检测模块和玻璃缺陷分析模块,以满足＂回归工程＂的创新教育要求。     

中学英语教师教学设计能力发展的实验研究

通过构建网络中学英语教师发展共同体,实现了人—机—人互动交流的网络学习、指导、反馈和评价的职后教师发展模式,研究了新疆某地第八中学34名英语教师教学设计能力在教学活动类型、教学活动设计频率以及教学活动课堂有效性等三个维度上的变化,通过SPSS11.5的统计,发现被试在教学活动类型、设计频率和课堂有效性方面均有不同程度的积极变化。据此可以推断,网络教师发展共同体对被试教学设计能力的发展有一定的促进作用。     

Designing schools for quality: An international,case study-based review

Universal access to primary schools is a key millennium development goal, still proving difficult to deliver in low-income countries. Schools designed for the poorest remain inadequate for the numbers enrolled, and for the basic needs and functions of today’s classrooms. The key issue is overcrowding; classrooms designed for forty regularly accommodate more than sixty due to the use of outdated international classroom design standards. These schools also have poor access to infrastructure; electricity, drinking water, sanitation, and ICT/library spaces. This paper highlights these issues and suggests strategies for improved school design through the evaluation the EdQual research project school case studies, the author was involved with, and also recent international examples It is argued that schools designed considering these issues, can become ‘hubs’ for development; providing local assets that can be shared by their communities.     

Designing SQL Database Modules Using Correlation Coefficients and Linear Regression: A Content‐Centered Approach

Information systems educators are increasingly incorporating business intelligence and analytics topics into information systems training. Educators often create modules independently, which can be difficult to effectively design given most information systems trainers have no formal training in instructional design. This article incorporates a content‐centered design model, pebble‐in‐the‐pond (Merrill, 2002 ), and provides an example of the design process using the topic of predictive analytics that information systems educators can follow to create instructional modules using sound instructional design considerations.     

CET4题型设计模式研究——基于任务特征理论的大学英语测试实证探索

任务型语言测试观为大学英语测试（CET）提供了新的理论基础。在Bachman与Palmer的测试任务五特征基础上,创设了新题型设计基本模式,并依据该模式设计新题型对CET4测试进行了初步探索。信度和效度实证检验的结果表明,新题型组的均值虽因主观性试题量的增加而略低于旧题型组,但两者间并无显著性差异。而且新题型还呈现出同期效度值比旧题型高的态势：同时其信度系数也较高且具有显著的统计学意义。     

丹参播种育苗技术的试验研究

采用不同播种时间、不同覆盖物、不同覆土厚度等方法进行丹参播种育苗试验。综合比较出苗率、根数及主根生长情况,结果表明:有覆盖物比无覆盖物好;夏播以麦草覆盖为宜;春播以地膜覆盖为宜;夏播比春播好;覆土厚度以0.5cm为宜。     

座式酒精喷灯的改进

传统的座式酒精喷灯在使用过程中常出现许多问题,影响实验。因此,应对其进行合理的改进。改进应从安全性、方便性、科学性等方面着手,增加减压阀、耐温隔热材料等,保证实验的顺利进行。     

An Experimental Study of Functional Learning

The basic problem in correcting a multiple choice test is evaluating a subject’s true knowledge, eliminating the guessing factor. In this paper, we consider some scoring procedures which are functions of the performance of the entire group of examinees. Special cases of the scoring procedures considered here reduce to the ones proposed by Chernoff (2), and Calandra (1).
