里昂中法大学究竟为谁而设

在近代留法勤工俭学运动期间,作为海外大学试验之一的里昂中法大学的创立成为当时极为引人注目的焦点。回顾里昂中法大学创设的时代背景及其创建设想和办学宗旨,并在分析留法勤工俭学生争夺里昂中法大学缘起的基础上认为,里昂中法大学并非为勤工俭学生而设,之所以发生勤工俭学生“进军里大”根本上乃肇源于当时他们陷入无工无学的极端困境,实为一种激进式自救。     

The Use of Time by Academic and Related Staff

This paper reviews surveys of the use of time by academic staff between 1962 and 1994. It reports on the findings of a time diary survey in 1994 of the use of time by academic and academic-related staff at British'old'universities during working weeks in term-time and vacation. The results of the time diary survey are analysed according to respondents'sex, staff grade, type of week, age, type of work, and time when work took place. The results are compared with results of previous surveys, and trends through time are suggested. In conclusion, the paper considers the recent mass expansion of higher education, the effects of this in increasing the workload of university staff, and measures to ameliorate this situation.

对工作过程的多维理解,有利于指导课程的开发和实施。常见的工作过程定义有情景定义和情境定义。基于两种定义应用时存在的困惑,在指导课程建设时,以＂情景定义＂理解生产化的工作过程,以＂情境定义＂理解教学化的工作过程。为全面理解工作过程,在工作过程定义之外,应借鉴前联邦德国职教所完成工作任务的六阶段模型和德莱弗斯＂从门外汉到专家＂的职业能力发展的五阶段模型。

对中蒙经贸关系的回顾与思考

１９９１～１９９２年，经过中蒙双方的努力，两国间的经贸往来频繁，贸易额不断增长。１９９３～１９９４年，因蒙古国调整出口产品等诸多原因，中蒙贸易额大幅度下降。１９９５年，双边贸易额得到了发展。本文以此为主题，进行分析思考，希望经过探讨，提供促进中蒙贸易不断发展的途径与办法。

Hans bethe, quantum mechanics, and the lamb shift

An elementary derivation of the Lamb Shift, as originally given by Hans Bethe, is attempted, with a short historical background on the evolution of QED since the beginning of the last century. The treatment is for a non-relativistic electron, in keeping with Bethe’s proverbial insight into the problem, which renders irrelevant the effect of the electron spin on the problem. The Kramer idea of renormalization is implemented through a simple subtraction of the self-energy of a free electron from that of the electron bound in a hydrogen atom. A N Mitra has had a long teaching service from 1955 to 1994 when he retired from Delhi University as INSA Einstein Professor of physics. He spent a year (1995) as visiting professor at NIAS (Bangalore). Since then he has been working as a free-lance writer-cum-researcher in physics, with periodic publications on scientific matters of current interests. Concern for man and his fate must always form the chief interest of all technical endeavors. Never forget this in the midst of your diagrams and equations.

笔者对浙江省临海市郊区农田的黑线姬鼠内脏器官的生长进行了研究。结果表明,根据内脏器官相对重量、绝对重量与胴体重和体长之间的相关性,可将内脏器官的生长方式分成四类。     

地方高校贫困大学生界定工作的思考

高校贫困学生的界定工作是高校助学工作中的一个重要环节,也是困扰高校贫困生工作的一道难题。本文以广东技术师范学院为例,分析了该校贫困生基本情况及界定工作,并提出相应建议,以期进一步完善贫困生界定制度,提高工作成效。     

我国外汇储备适度规模的实证分析

1994年外汇体制改革以来,我国外汇储备保持了较快的增长,截至2006年2月底,我国外汇储备规模为8537亿美元,超过日本同期数据8501亿美元,跃居世界外汇储备第一.如此巨额的外汇储备成为国内外关注的焦点,本文以1990年-2004年的数据为基础,应用因子分析法对我国的外汇储备的适度规模进行实证分析,得出1995年后我国外汇储备规模存在超额现象.     

On the growth of structural equation modeling in psychological journals

This study investigates the distribution of technical and substantive structural equation modeling articles (SEM) that were published in psychological journals from 1987 to 1994. An inspection of more than 1050 abstracts on PsycLit 1987–1995 (PsycINFO, 1973–1995) revealed a number of clear trends: (a) an increase by year of articles concerned with SEM, (b) an increase in the number of journals that publish structural equation modeling articles, (c) a relatively stable output of technical articles across years, and (d) an increase of substantive articles across years. Furthermore, when the substantive articles are classified as either causal models or confirmatory factor analyses, a similar “growth” trend across years occurs for both categories. We further inspected the growth trend by considering the ratio of SEM articles to the total number of psychology articles and by comparing these results to distributions of analysis of variance, multivariate analysis of variance, regression, and factor analyses articles for the period of 1973 to 1994.     

Interactions between defining,explaining and classifying: the case of increasing and decreasing sequences

This paper describes a study in which we investigated relationships between defining mathematical concepts — increasing and decreasing infinite sequences — explaining their meanings and classifying consistently with formal definitions. We explored the effect of defining, explaining or studying a definition on subsequent classification, and the effect of classifying on subsequent explaining and defining. We report that (1) student-generated definitions and explanations were highly variable in content and quality; (2) explicitly considering the meaning of the concept facilitated subsequent classification, and giving a personal definition or explanation had a greater effect than studying a given definition; (3) classifying before defining or explaining resulted in significantly poorer definitions and explanations. We discuss the implications of these results for the teaching of abstract pure mathematics, relating our discussion to existing work on the concept image/concept definition distinction and on working with examples.

Using Social Stories to Enhance Behaviour in Children with Autistic Spectrum Difficulties

This paper describes teachers, parents and educational psychologists working together to meet the needs of children and young people with autistic spectrum difficulties in mainstream and special schools. It examines the impact on children's social behaviour of a two-session workshop for groups of parents/carers, teachers and learning support assistants about 'Social Stories' (Gray, 1994). It highlights the contribution that Social Stories can make to the management of a wide range of social behaviours, including inappropriate sexual behaviour, unsafe behaviour and obsessional behaviour. Issues raised by the use of Social Stories and their benefits for children with autistic spectrum difficulties are considered. The paper concludes by describing the developing diversity in the use of Social Stories and invites those working in the field to contribute to the body of information about their strengths and limitations.     

Performance Support Engineering: An Emerging Development Methodology for Enabling Organizational Learning Originally published in 1995, PIQ 8.1

This paper discusses an emerging development methodology, Performance Support Engineering, that can be used to design and build performance support systems. It introduces a new model called the Organizational Performance/Learning Cycle that describes the dynamics of the organizational learning process and provides a framework for thinking about the technologies (Ariel 1994) and methodologies that enable that process. The author argues that previous definitions of EPSS were too limited and restricted in their scope and expands on these earlier definitions to take into account this new model of organizational learning. The new definition clearly distinguishes EPSS from traditional systems development, which focuses on data, not on knowledge, and from expert systems development, which focuses on knowledge rather than on enabling performance. This new view of EPSS offers a clear opportunity for organizations to recognize the strategic importance of managing their knowledge assets. Most of the current methodologies in use by different functional groups are limited in their capability to enable this model and the expanded definition of EPSS. The author describes how the emerging Performance Support Engineering methodology overcomes these limitations.     

‘Building brighter futures for all our children’– a new focus on families as partners and change agents in the care and development of children with disabilities or special educational needs

This paper looks at recent trends in Government policy and practice around supporting and involving parents of children with disabilities and special educational needs (SEN) in their care, development and education. In particular, the paper examines the opportunities offered in the Children's Plan ( DCSF, 2007 ) and Aiming High ( HM Treasury/DfES, 2007 ), and the strong emphasis on earlier intervention and a range of new services to facilitate better partnership with parents (including those from socially disadvantaged backgrounds). Note: In using the term ‘disabled children’, the author is using the broad definition of disability within the Disability Discrimination Acts (DDA) 1995 and 2005. The DDA definition includes the majority of children with identified and significant levels of SEN.
