教学督导在促进高校教师专业发展方面包括一系列前后联系、层层递进的环节和方面:教学检查重在通过了解教学管理制度,分析其中制约教师专业发展与影响教师教学积极性的因素,督促教学部门予以完善;教学诊断通过深入课堂,分析课堂教学存在的问题与不足,帮助教师改进教学观念与教学方法;教师评价重在通过分析教师自身优点与存在不足的基础上准确定位教师的发展方向,明确教师发展目标;教师指导重在通过个别帮扶与集中培训的形式,有针对性地帮助教师改进教学.教学督导机制建设应主要从建立健全教学督导制度、构建高素质教学督导队伍、成立专门性的教学督导组织等层面入手.
