Laboratory apprenticeship through a student research project

There has been a long tradition of laboratory activities associated with science instruction. Despite constructivists' claims advocating open-ended inquiry and mentoring, little is known about what students are thinking when engaged in laboratory activities. Laboratory learning as a process of cognitive apprenticeship has been proposed as a metaphor to guide teacher practice and student learning. The viability of cognitive apprenticeship for learning science in school is discussed in relation to findings from an investigation of a research project involving high school students working in a university chemical engineering laboratory under the mentorship of a university-based scientist. Data from a variety of techniques were analyzed in an interpretive style. We found that the students were empowered to seek empirically viable knowledge claims as they became independent researchers. However, we argue that caution needs to be exercised before advocating open-ended inquiry as a general model for laboratory learning without additional studies in different contexts. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.     

现代通信实验室建设与实验教学改革

近两年的教学实践证明为培养学生的科技创新能力和工程意识创造学习条件，学生的实验技能明显加强，学生的学习主动性发生了根本的变化。因此，加强实验室建设与实验教学改革是发展高等教育的关键。     

基于"教学研"相结合的实验室建设与管理探索

对传统实验室建设与管理的反思,对教学实验室和科学研究实验室相结合进行了一定的探索,提出了其必要性、实验室技术队伍的建设和实验室管理改革与效益的提高,特别简述了两者相结合进行建设对创新型人才的培养、教师队伍建设及科研水平提高的影响.     

实验队伍建设与管理的探讨

实验室是高校教学、科研的重要基地。建设一支高水平实验队伍,作为实验室建设和教学研究工作的核心,是高等学校十分迫切的任务。根据该校的改革经验,打破实验室旧的管理体制,进入竞争机制。选好实验教学中心主任;组建一支高水平的实验技术队伍;实验队伍中几支力量同时发展,相互协作。     

实施实验室评估加强实验室建设--谈我校基础课教学实验室评估工作

校领导的高度重视、认真执行实验室评估标准、做好评估前期的准备工作,是我校实验室顺利通过省级评估验收的重要保证.本文着重介绍我校在实施实验室评估中的一些具体方法、步骤和措施.     

实验室改革与虚拟实验室探讨

深入研究了当今普通高等院校实验教学环节的突出矛盾,提出了解决矛盾的具体措施,大胆进行实验教学改革。两年来的实践已经证明,以虚拟实验为主流方向的实验室改革使我院很快走出了实验教学的困境,效果显著,改革获得了成功。

当前我国实验室开放建设与管理方面也面临着挑战,实验室开放时间不确定,而且空间有限,并且存在学生对实验设备不爱护的现象,大量的实验对设备和实验材料有着很大需求,这都是我们开放实验室的所要面临的,如何在有限的空间和时间里更有效的利用实验室有为重要。本文以山东农业大学机械与电子工程学院实验室为例围绕当前实验室的管理和现状进行论述。     

多元化多业务网络工程实验室的建设与规划

系统地阐述了多元化多业务网络工程实验室的设计要点及系统组成,给出了一个合理的实验室建设方案,规划了网络工程实验课程教学内容。     

改革实验室管理体制和运行机制 促进实验室快速发展

结合实验室建设管理现状,根据教学、科研和社会服务的实际需要,学校对实验室进行了统一规划,对相同或相近实验室进行了调整、合并与重组。通过建立校、院两级实验教学中心、校级公共科研服务平台和院级实验研究中心、学科科研实验室,创建实验室信息化综合管理平台,创新实验室管理体制及运行机制,采用收费制作为调控杠杆,从而有效提高了实验技术人员的工作积极性和仪器设备的共享和利用率,激活了实验室的内在活力,确保了实验室的良性竞争和快速发展。     

课程实验教学与学科综合实验教学的比较

本基于多年的实验教学实践，针对课程实验教学和学科综合实验教学两种实验教学模式的特点、存在的问题、解决问题的方法和对策进行综合分析和比较研究。提出了学科综合实验教学更有利于新时期人才培养目标的实现。     

实验室资质认定在高校教学实验室管理中的应用

实验室资质认定评审是政府规范第三方检验(测)活动的一种法定行为,结合高校实验室工作实际,在高校实验室建设管理过程中引入实验室资质认定评审理念具有现实必要性及可行性。按照对实验室资质认定评审准则中管理要求和技术要求的理解,对评审表中条款进行了比较分析,例举了该准则在教学实验室管理中的应用实践。该研究成果对高校实验室建设管理具有十分重要的借鉴意义。     

加强实验室建设,实现经济类实验室的协作与互补

高职高专院校以培养高等技术应用性专门人才为根本任务,而实验室的建设及应用在高职高专人才培养过程中起着重要的作用.经济类学科应依据自身特点,采取多种方式.建立多种实验室,同时考虑实验室之间的功能协作.实现教学资源的互补.以满足教学目标的要求.同时达到资源的合理利用.     

基于实验室认可制度下的高校实验室建设

实验室是高校开展实验教学和科学研究的重要场所,高等教育的发展迫使高校在实验室建设与管理工作进行改革,以适应社会主义市场经济的需要;实验室认可制度是商品经济发展到一定阶段的产物,有其严格的实验管理及评价体系,因此探讨认可制度下的高校实验室建设对提高实验室在实践教学、科研工作中的作用有非常重要的意义.     

提高高校物理实验室设备利用率,创建综合型实验室

对于高等学校而言,实验室是教学科研的重要基地。本文从开放管理、合理采购、加强监管、自主维修等方面提出一些建议,从而达到提高实验设备利用率,最大限度地利用和开发实验室的目的。     

高校实验室生物安全规范化系统的探索与实践

生物安全是高校实验室安全建设与管理的重要组成部分,天津大学以生命科学学院为试点,从建立和完善组织机构、健全规章制度、丰富生物安全教育培训形式、增强实验室安全文化建设等方面展开探索与实践,构建了一套有效的、规范化的生物安全体系。     

强化实验室管理 提高实验室效益

实验室是国家科技创新体系的主要组成部分,在高校学科、教学、科研和人才培养中发挥着越来越重要的作用。针对目前高校实验室管理存在的主要问题,提出了几点关于实验室建设和管理方面的建议,并介绍了西北工业大学实验室管理方面的一些做法。     

The Laboratory

Creative thinking skills are essential for today's workplace. Three faculty members from different professional schools (business, higher education administration, teacher education) examined student responses to the creative assignments in their courses. The assignments exemplify the following criteria: invited taking risks, encouraged innovative thinking, stressed connecting, demonstrated synthesis and transformation of course content. The study examined student responses to creative projects via a Likert-scale survey, open-ended narrative responses, and then scores on a rubric on creativity and integrative learning. Fifty-seven students were surveyed across all three courses. Overall, results indicate that students not only found these assignments worthwhile but also found that they furthered their learning of course content. Implications for practice are included.
