概率是中国中小学课程的重要组成部分.学生对概率的学习往往存在诸多困难,这也使得教师面临许多挑战.教师要学会诊断和利用学生在不同情境中出现的错误,帮助学生更好地认识和理解概率.通过设计一个有关概率的情境问题,对48名职前数学教师的数学教学知识进行了测试,结果表明:(1)尽管职前教师都能求出情境中的概率,但是仅有少数能真正解释学生的错误;(2)职前教师对学生错误的解释,会直接影响他们教学设计的水平.  相似文献

There is no denying the impact that the coronravirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak has had on many aspects of our lives. This article looks at the potential impact of COVID-19 on student learning as schools abruptly morphed into virtual learning environments using data from several instructional, practice, and assessment solutions offered by Renaissance. First, three hypothetical learning scenarios are considered using normative data from Star assessments to explore the potential impact on reading and math test performace. Next, data on Focus Skills are used to highlight which grades may have missed the most foundational math and reading content if instruction was stopped or reduced. Last, data from two of Renaissance's practice tools are used to evaluate whether students were practicing key skills following school closures. The article concludes that academic decline will likely occur but may be tempered by the increased use of practice tools; effects may look different for math and reading; and may impact grades and schools differently. As such, schools may need to leverage decision-making frameworks, such as the Multi-tiered Systems of Support/Response-to-Intervention (MTSS/RTI) framework, more than ever to identify needs and target instruction where it matters most when school begins in fall 2020.  相似文献

We explore the potential of dilemma analysis as an assessment tool to reveal student teachers’ thinking and concerns about their practice. For this purpose we analyze the dilemma analyses completed by 22 student teachers enrolled in our science teacher preparation program over a period of four semesters. Student teachers’ dilemmas fall into two main groups: dilemmas about student performance and dilemmas associated with instructional decisions. These dilemmas reveal a variety of concerns that student teachers have about their work. In particular, concerns about lack of student motivation and its consequences on performance and instruction play a central role in student teachers’ thinking. The recognition of common patterns of thought in our student teacher thinking has made us reflect on and re-evaluate important components of the curriculum in our science teacher preparation program.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to investigate teachers’ beliefs regarding the integration of technologies from the 2011 K-12 edition of the Horizon Report into their local, public school contexts. Teachers read the Horizon Report and then participated in an asynchronous, threaded discussion focusing on technologies they would like to see integrated into their classrooms and technologies they do not see possible in the near term. Qualitative methods were used to analyze the discussion. Findings include the teachers’ desire to see mobile technologies integrated into their classrooms, and their belief that there are significant barriers to game-based learning.  相似文献

This article reports on an exploration of teaching and learning through creating rudimentary stop-motion animations set up to identify how learning opportunities involving stop-motion animations can support student learning and science teacher education. Participants were student teachers, volunteers representing both secondary and primary school teacher training courses, from three universities in England. Their discussions while making an animation themselves were recorded. Six of the secondary trainees were later interviewed after having taught using animation during placement in school. Thematic analysis of the content of the recordings and interviews showed that the student teachers view the opportunities that making an animation creates for peer discussion as the most likely to promote learning. Modeling was also seen as beneficial, though no one particular activity or stage in animation creation stood out as being more effective than another. It is the holistic process of representing and re-representing one's scientific knowledge in different modes that made animation creation appear to be so useful in bringing about and supporting learning. With respect to teacher education, the student science teachers reported that making animations themselves supported them in thinking through the process of how, as teachers, they would need to communicate the underpinning science to others. The disjuncture between the importance of research methods to the Criminal Justice curriculum and students’ resistance to learning about the topic constitutes an important educational challenge. This paper describes efforts to overcome students’ resistance to learning research methods using a model of teaching and learning referred to as “Decoding the Disciplines.” Sources of student resistance and a specific bottleneck to learning are identified. Assessment data indicate that students were successful at learning methodological concepts and identifying applications with relevance outside of the research methods classroom. The paper concludes by reflecting on the insights gained into the process of student learning and motivation and offers suggestions for overcoming student resistance. More broadly, it is argued that educators should give more attention to defining the nature of disciplinary thinking in Criminal Justice and engage more fully in the scholarship of teaching and learning.  相似文献

The article examines the processes of change and adaptation which a group of undergraduate mature women students underwent as they learned to become student teachers. The study sits firmly within the qualitative paradigm and offers a holistic analysis of student teacher socialisation in which the complexity of adaptation is revealed through the inter-relationship of gender, identity, life course, coping strategies and the negotiation of change. A major theme of the study examines the uneasy blend of struggle, contestation, guilt and success which became a daily feature of their lives as mothers, wives and full-time student teachers. The article argues that the ethnographic research approach was the most appropriate method for revealing new insights about student teacher socialisation. Moreover, it is suggested that ethnographic accounts have an important contribution to make to educational theory and knowledge provided that they go beyond minimalist criteria for good practice.  相似文献
