浅谈汉英翻译中习语的译法

英语和汉语都是有着悠久历史的语言,并且都有着丰富的习惯用语。东西方文化的差异让人们在习语的理解中产生了一定的困难,因此习语的翻译也成为汉英翻译中的一大难题。我们只有对两种语言有了较为深刻地了解,才能准确地在翻译中表达出原文的意思。     

小议日语中的同形异义词

在日语中关于同形异义词的研究,主要侧重于语法方面的研究,但是从同形异义词的角度去研究的不太多见。笔者认为日语中出现大量的形态相同意思各异的词汇的这种现象,不管有多少语法原因在里面,简单地说这实际上就是一种同形异义词的现象。

该文从翻译理论中的目的论视角出发,重点研究汉语中随社会发展大量涌现的新词及流行语的翻译策略。由于中日间存在较大的文化差异,新涌现的新词及流行语又未及时收录到现有的词汇体系中,这对中日间的文化交流无疑形成了隔阂及障碍。笔者将功能翻译理论中最重要的翻译目的论引入新词及流行语的中日翻译中,并比较对照2008年至2015年这几年间中国教育部及国家语言委员会发布的新词及流行语的翻译方法,参照北京出版的唯一一个日文原版综合月刊——《人民中国》中的"新词网络语"栏目中的权威介绍,探寻翻译过程中译者的目的对翻译策略的选择所产生的影响及作用,从而考察研究新词及流行语的翻译对策。

随着电子技术的发展,词典的传统形象也受到了颠覆。方便快捷的电子词典越来越受到学生们的喜爱,学生们也越来越多地依赖电子词典,而放弃对传统纸质双语或英英词典的使用。该文通过问卷调查和词汇测试的方式,调查电子词典和纸质权威词典对英语专业学生英语词汇学习的影响。     

Onyx: A Linked Data approach to emotion representation

Extracting opinions and emotions from text is becoming increasingly important, especially since the advent of micro-blogging and social networking. Opinion mining is particularly popular and now gathers many public services, datasets and lexical resources. Unfortunately, there are few available lexical and semantic resources for emotion recognition that could foster the development of new emotion aware services and applications. The diversity of theories of emotion and the absence of a common vocabulary are two of the main barriers to the development of such resources. This situation motivated the creation of Onyx, a semantic vocabulary of emotions with a focus on lexical resources and emotion analysis services. It follows a linguistic Linked Data approach, it is aligned with the Provenance Ontology, and it has been integrated with the Lexicon Model for Ontologies (lemon), a popular RDF model for representing lexical entries. This approach also means a new and interesting way to work with different theories of emotion. As part of this work, Onyx has been aligned with EmotionML and WordNet-Affect.     

An IPC-based vector space model for patent retrieval

Determining requirements when searching for and retrieving relevant information suited to a user’s needs has become increasingly important and difficult, partly due to the explosive growth of electronic documents. The vector space model (VSM) is a popular method in retrieval procedures. However, the weakness in traditional VSM is that the indexing vocabulary changes whenever changes occur in the document set, or the indexing vocabulary selection algorithms, or parameters of the algorithms, or if wording evolution occurs. The major objective of this research is to design a method to solve the afore-mentioned problems for patent retrieval. The proposed method utilizes the special characteristics of the patent documents, the International Patent Classification (IPC) codes, to generate the indexing vocabulary for presenting all the patent documents. The advantage of the generated indexing vocabulary is that it remains unchanged, even if the document sets, selection algorithms, and parameters are changed, or if wording evolution occurs. Comparison of the proposed method with two traditional methods (entropy and chi-square) in manual and automatic evaluations is presented to verify the feasibility and validity. The results also indicate that the IPC-based indexing vocabulary selection method achieves a higher accuracy and is more satisfactory.
