Power from Nanolight 纳米光能量Tiny rings of light called optical vortices(漩涡) may one day be harnessed as power sources for micro electro mechanical devices (MEMs) . The optical vortices rapidly spin(旋转) microscopic spheres(球体) in surrounding fluid. Since they have no moving parts, they are a better option for MEMs motors than electrostatic(静电的) or magnetic drives, which move slowly and wear out quickly, says physicist David Grier of the University of Chicago.
