在英语中、经常用不含否定词的单词、词组、句型等来表示否定意义。这种否定意义用法隐藏在句子的深层含义中。同学们在英语学习中若碰到这种用法，一定要注意正确理解句子的深层含义。现把这种用法作一简要归纳。

句型不同，“想”法各异

在中学英语中,“想”有多种不同的表达方式,句型不同。“想”法各异。现小结如下。一、think 宾语或宾语从句这种句型通常用来表示个人的想法、看法。其含义是“想,认为”。例如: Think it over,you’ll find a way.仔细考虑一下。你就会想出办法来。 I think he’s very old.我认为他年纪很大。二、think 介词 宾语这种句型中的介词通常是about,of 等,其含义是“思考”。例如:
