Top-class Exhibitions Kick off the Year of China

＂Year of China＇, the largest exchange event that China has ever held in Russia, was officially launched on March 26 by visiting Chinese President Hu Jintao and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. Three opening exhibitions highlighted the event, including ＂China National Exhibition＂, ＂White Gold： Chinese Porcelain Masterpieces＂ and ＂Forbidden City Treasures of Chinese Emperors＂. FOCUS ON CHINESE CULTURE --The art exhibition ＂China in Eyes of African Artists＂ held in Benin

A s a comprising event of ＂Focus on Chinese Culture 2009＂ series, the art exhibition ＂China in Eyes of African Artists＂ , was recently held in China Culture Center in Cotonou,economic capital city of Benin. “Early China： the Formative Period of. Chinese Civilization” Disphyed in Capital Museum

Diaolou： Watchtowers of Kaiping

My surprising experience began at the balcony on the top of a residence in Zili Village, Kaiping County, the coastalprovince of Guangdong in southern China. A plethora of tall concrete buildings featuring European styles of ancient Greece and Rome quietly stood in the countryside field, looking eccentric, unique and well-fit in the soft morning sunshine. At the residence gate, I saw three black Chinese calligraphic characters reading ＂Yun Huan Lou＂ （tower of cloudy illusion）.     

Ancient Buddhist Sculpture Embodies Chinese and Tibetan Wisdom

On the occasion of the International Museum Day on May 18, the Ten Best Museum Exhibitions of the Year were released, a competition sponsored by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage of China and co-organized by Chinae Museum Association, Xi＇an Municipality and China Heritage News. The exhibition ＂Buddhist Sculpture Masterpieces of Ancient China＂ by the Capital Museum in Beijing won the ＂Best Production ＂ award.
