学术文化与研究型大学:商业主义和科学主义的影响

过去的15年里,在商业主义和科学主义的影响下,加拿大大学的学术文化发生了巨大的变化。本文考察了影响学术文化变化的一系列内部和外部因素,主要通过对以下六个主题的讨论:研究、科学、商业化、变化的角色、同事关系和代际差别。本文特别选取了渥太华大学作为案例,来分析这所研究型大学的发展历程及其引起的争辩。     

文化是大学之魂

大学理念 ,一直是教育思想家关注的话题。“文化是大学之魂”是一种大学哲学观 ,核心是回答大学是做什么的、什么是大学、怎样办大学 ,以及办什么样的大学这样一些基本问题。当今时代强烈呼唤大学创新 ,而理念创新是大学创新的先导 ,本文主要从时代的高度和文化的视角对大学的这些基本问题进行一些理性思考     

CONTINUING EDUCATION,THE PROMOTION OF CULTURE,AND THE SOCIAL ROLE OF THE UNIVERSITY

For many years, the author has been thinking about the problem of how to combine continuing education courses in universities with efforts to promote the dissemination of culture in the broadest sense. He begins his article with two definitions, one of the concept of continuing education itself, the other of the concept of culture. He indicates that increasingly a popular demand is being manifested for courses combining both objectives, particularly on the part of those who had to interrupt their studies prematurely or who completed them some time ago. He cites two seminars currently being offered at the University oE Athens, one an interdisciplinary seminar in philosophy, organized eight years ago, the other, a seminar in the philosophy of art. Both of them have opened their doors to all interested persons. They have been extremely popular, despite the fact that enrol‐lecs earn no credit for attending them. With the aid of the appropriate national authorities, similar programmes could be created in other universities in the countries belonging to Unesco so as to respond to a genuine social need.     

论大学组织中文化的整合功能

本文论述文化在大学组织整合中的作用。文化是组织中“隐含的规则” ,是组织“正规化的替代物” ,对于主要由专业学术人员组成的大学组织具有特别重要的意义。大学应该加强组织文化建设 ,在无形中协调和控制组织成员的行为 ,促进大学组织目标的实现

THE UNIVERSITY AND EUROPE

Asked to comment on Mr. Felix Peregudov's proposal for the creation of a University of the Peoples of Europe, the author concludes that the Council‐of‐Europe‐sponsored University of Europe that was founded in 1985 has a very similar scope and set of objectives. The latter, however, is an extended university, a network of existing institutions, not a compact institution like that which Mr. Peregudov is proposing. The author considers that a compact institution could not perform the tasks proposed for it in Mr. Peregudov's proposal.     

城市文化与现代化

城市化之所以能够成为现代化的重要内容和特征 ,不仅由于城市化对经济发展和社会进步有巨大的推动作用 ,而且因为城市化能够产生日新月异的城市文化。现代城市文化是具有现代人格的人创造的文化 ,是现代人生产活动和生活的文化体现 ,它集中和鲜明地代表了现代化的文化特征。积极发展城市文化 ,既是最重要、最可靠的基础设施投资 ,又可以切实地推进现代化建设

通过体育教学、课外辅导训练，发现新生入校后所存在的实际问题，提出体育兴趣在教学中的重要作用及培养学生体育兴趣的方法．     

大学的理念和科学民主的价值

本文从跨文化的角度,比较了中西大学的传统及其现代影响,分析了西方中世纪大学民主和求真的传统。作者还简要讨论了“科学与民主”的理念思想如何通过北京大学的传统影响中国社会的现代化的进程,以及在新的时代如何坚持这一理念和传统。     

THE UNIVERSITY SYSTEM IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

The present state of the universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina is briefly presented. The needs of these institutions, resulting from the war going on in the Republic, are stressed. Also stressed is the fact that despite great hardship these universities are still functioning.
