ABSTRACT During the fall 1999 semester, the College Libraries at the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Arts and Sciences at Geneseo conducted an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) survey of the entire faculty, staff and student body. The purpose of the survey was to find out whether patrons using ILL are satisfied with the service, and to discover the reasons why non-ILL users are not using the service. We received 538 responses in total (a 10% response rate). Of these, 60% were from students and 40% were from faculty and staff. 相似文献

ABSTRACT Through an examination of fill time data for dissertations requested through traditional ILL and the Dissertation Express document delivery service, this article investigates the cost-effectiveness of using a commercial document supplier for obtaining dissertations. Vastly improved results, with moderate additional cost, were achieved by using Dissertation Express for obtaining dissertations. 相似文献

Cultural departments in newspapers are reported to be encountering increasing pressures towards the production of news and more “journalistic” expression. However, journalistic values do not fit unproblematically into the dualistic professionalism of cultural journalism. The article elaborates an insight into the practice of arts journalism as an act of framing between the epistemic paradigms of journalistic and aesthetic tradition. The traditions are inspected as Bourdieusian fields, and the boundary-crossing between the fields is clarified by close-reading texts with deviations from the typical framings, accompanied by social tensions and indignation among the actors of the artistic field. By investigating the reconciliation between the two epistemic frames of cultural journalism, the journalistic and the aesthetic paradigm, certain restrictions between the generalist and specialist role-shifts can be found. This distinctive boundary between the fields leads into the question about how the newsworthiness of culture could be defined without losing the sensitivity to the characteristics of arts and culture, operated by their own logic. 相似文献

Transitioning to electronic health records (EHRs) provides an opportunity for health care systems to integrate educational content available on interactive patient systems (IPS) with the medical documentation system. This column discusses how one hospital simplified providers’ workflow by making it easier to order educational videos and ensure that completed education is documented within the medical record. Integrating the EHR and IPS streamlined the provision of patient education, improved documentation, and supported the organization in meeting core requirements for Meaningful Use. 相似文献

目的:构建2004-2013年糖尿病领域高被引论文主体的合作网络知识图谱,揭示主要作者、机构和国家,分析其合作模式。方法:用可视化软件Citespace绘制2004-2013年糖尿病领域高被引论文的作者、机构、国家合作网络图谱。结果:核心作者是Graham Nichol、SM Grundy和Hertzel C.Gerstein等,团体内部合作密切,团体间合作极少。核心研究机构是Harvard Univ、Brigham&Womens Hosp、Univ Sydney等,大学成为科研的主要力量。最有影响力的发文国家是美国、英国和加拿大,合作十分密切。结论:2004-2013年糖尿病领域高被引论文主体合作模式有单点型、双核型、发展型和完备型4种。基于地缘和机构属性的合作还处于摸索与探索阶段,应进一步加强地域间,高校、医疗机构、事业单位和科研机构间的合作与交流。 相似文献
