国外主要图书馆集成管理系统采访模块的分析与比较

本文选择了近年来我国主要引进的国外四大图书馆集成管理系统Horizon、Unicorn、Millennium以及A-LEPH500,通过对四大系统的主要功能特点和采访模块的功能特点进行比较分析,着重研究了各系统的采访模块在数据接收与处理、订单处理、发票管理和经费结算、读者推荐等功能上的优势和区别。     

英国会员图书馆及其历史作用

会员图书馆是一种由会员缴纳会费维持基本运营的私有图书馆,家长式作风、等级制度的存在和阅读的需要是英国会员图书馆产生的几个重要因素。英国会员图书馆在会员资格和准入条件的政策上存在差异性,会员股份体现了会员参与图书馆民主管理的传统,会员委员会是会员图书馆管理的主要形式。英国会员图书馆由于公共图书馆的崛起而日渐式微,已经引起英国社会的广泛关注与重视,英国会员图书馆的重振势在必行。     

Book Distribution in the Arab World

Business opportunities in international markets are largely determined by accessibility, transparency, and legal frameworks fair to all parties concerned. Arab book markets in principle offer a tremendous potential with more than 300 million readers sharing one common language. Besides unsolved censorship issues, problems with money collection, and differing regulations, however, the lack of a uniform book distribution system is the most critical hurdle for the development of a common Arabic book market. Most importantly, there is no comprehensive database containing accurate content briefs, background information on authors, ISBN numbers, and publisher company information as well as all relevant commercial data such as book prices, weight, logistics terms, and availability. Authors and publishers are hard hit as they often need to organize book transportation, delivery, and invoice collection on their own. At present, “selling book fairs” in the Arab world—with the exception of Abu Dhabi International Book Fair—present themselves as crowded book bazaars rather than executive meeting points. The authors of the article, however, are anticipating change: New distribution initiatives will soon interlink regional Arabic markets and create unique growth and profit opportunities.     

高校人文社科外文印刷版期刊馆藏状况分析：1996-2008

本文通过对《全国高校图书馆进口报刊预订联合目录》（1996-2008）历年期刊目录数据的分析,从文献的地区布局、学科分布以及核心期刊订购情况等方面,描述我国高校人文社科外文印刷版期刊十余年来馆藏发展的总体情况。     

审稿人等级指标数据库的维护与更新

通过对现有审稿人数据库状况的描述,认为审稿人数据库的维护对于期刊的发展是一项非常紧迫的任务。针对当前审稿人数据库的实际情况,提出了细化的等级指标,从而可望实现量化的系统管理,为审稿人数据库的维护和更新提供了一种新的思路。     

"红色江西"特色数据库的建设

“数字信息资源建设Internet环境下红色文化教育宣传的研究”(简称“红色江西”特色数据库)是南昌大学图书馆研制的多媒体特色数据库．具有进行革命传统教育、提供红色文化研究资料、介绍红色旅游资源等多项功能,寓教于乐,动、静结合,极具知识性和趣味性。介绍了该库的建设模式、技术手段、创新特色等基本情况。     

Database Lists A to Z: A Practitioner’s Tips and Caveats for Managing Database Lists

Database lists, frequently presented on Databases A to Z and subject pages, are a long-standing component of a library’s web presence. Tools for producing and managing the list are frequently a part of a more comprehensive library technology, such as electronic resource management (ERM) systems, integrated library system-ERMS, and content management systems such as LibGuides. Published literature provides good coverage of these technologies, but pays little attention to functionality for database list management. This article illustrates A to Z database list evolution from 1999 to 2017 by way of manifestations at the University of Central Florida Library, conceptualizes database list systems and functions, presents findings from a survey, and shares tips and practical considerations for producing and managing database lists.

书目数据库是图书馆计算机信息管理的重要数据库。本文以Visual Foxpro 为软件环境, 介绍了如何解决书目数据库中存在的常见问题和怎样对数据库进行维护, 以确保书目数据库的正常运行。     

Automated ILL analysis and collection development: A hi-tech marriage of convenience

Microcomputers and database management packages reduce the difficulties of collecting and analyzing ILL requests. This article examines earlier ILL/collection development studies to identify important ILL record elements for collection analysis. Further, this article reports on the results of a telephone survey of available ILL database management packages to determine whether the elements considered important in the earlier manual studies are being included in these new software packages. The article concludes that through the use of ILL database management packages, ILL activity analysis can be easily incorporated into ILL workflow and quickly passed along to subject selectors.     

Scheduling cooperative transactions in distributed database systems

Scheduling transactions in advanced applications of distributed database systems, such as real-time distributed groupware systems and network management systems, are different from that in traditional database systems. In this paper, we propose new scheduling models, LWL for coordinating cooperative activities in real-time distributed groupware systems, and GTM for providing interoperability to network management systems, respectively.
