刘向撰《说苑叙录》解读

刘向《说苑叙录》文字理解的关键在于“说苑杂事”、“新序”、“百家”、“新苑”四点。前人有争议,但也有共同的认识。“说苑杂事”是刘向编撰《说苑》时所用的底本《说苑杂事》;“新序”是刘向的著作《新序》,“百家”是《汉志》子部小说家著录的《百家》书、“新苑”则是《说苑》的别名。     

刘向道家思想及其在西汉后期的时代意义

《新序》接受史中的思想价值呈现考论

刘向《新序》成书带有讽谏性质,在后世的接受中亦表现出浓郁的思想性,或者被接受者指明其讽谏性质,或者被接受者视作教化工具,或者在书目中被列为“助人君顺阴阳明教化”的儒家类著作,均呈现出了其得以流传后世的有助于王教政治的思想价值。     

从刘向著作引诗看刘向的《诗》学观

刘向在其所著的《列女传》、《说苑》、《新序》中,保存了大量对《诗经》的解释性的文字,其义与鲁韩间有异同。而关于刘向《诗经》学在齐、鲁、韩三家中属于哪一家的问题已聚讼千年。本文从《列女传》、《说苑》、《新序》三部著作出发,将其中引诗全面整理,通过其与齐、鲁、韩三家诗的比较,究其不同;通过对其引诗的分类,发掘、还原刘向对于《诗经》的理解,从而述出刘向的《诗》学观。     

刘向的易学思想：从义理阐发到象数灾异

对于刘向易学,学界研究较少。刘向虽然没有易学的专门著作,但在他的奏疏以及《洪范五行传论》《列女传》《说苑》《新序》等著作中,我们能看到其关于《周易》的相关思想。在奏疏中,刘向对《周易》的征引只是注重义理方面的阐发,并不看重灾异思想。在中秘校书的过程中,刘向看到《尚书·洪范》而作《洪范五行传论》。受此影响,刘向征引《周易》开始注重其中的象数灾异思想。在《列女传》《新序》《说苑》中,刘向对于《周易》的解释也表现出了义理阐发和象数灾异兼用的倾向。刘向在易学中注重象数灾异思想的动因并非源自《周易》本身,而是与其本人杂有齐学的思想背景有关。

论刘向的《说苑》及其体例

刘向,字子政,原名更生,沛(今江苏沛县)人,西汉末期一位硕儒,文化巨子,传附见于《汉书·楚元王传》。他是汉高祖刘邦同父少弟楚元王刘交的四世孙,经历宣、元、成、哀四朝,官至光禄大夫、中垒校尉,故后人称刘光禄、刘中垒。一生著述宏丰,他的《新序》、《说苑》和《列女传》广为人知,研究人员也对它们进行了深入探讨,但都着重于《新序》和《列女传》,对《说苑》有些冷落。我们今天就来看看这部书的特色。一、《说苑》的流传及命名刘向的《说苑》是继《新序》之后又一部收集先秦以来至汉初的历史故事集,《汉书·艺文志》中记载“刘向所序六十七…     

郭焯莹“班固结集《楚辞》说”评议

关于《楚辞》十六卷的结集,当代楚辞学者在旧有的“刘向结集《楚辞》说”之外提出了“王逸结集《楚辞》说”。在此之前,清季民初的楚辞学者郭焯莹提出了“班固结集《楚辞》”的全新看法,鲜为人知。郭氏认为：以刘向对东方朔人品与作品的了解,他不会将《七谏》编入《楚辞》;王逸《九怀序》所说的“史官录第”是指班固(而非刘向)编录了楚辞作品,但因为王逸不满于班固对屈原的指责,不想彰扬班固,所以将班固的名字隐匿;班固所结集的《楚辞》篇第是《楚辞释文》的篇第。郭氏提出的“班固结集《楚辞》说”可以补证,但也有可议之处。《九思序》所说的“谱录”指的是《楚辞目录》,是班固参与撰写的《书部》中的一种,这就是“史官录第”的含义;王逸对班固结集《楚辞》一事并非刻意隐匿;班固结集的《楚辞》篇第应是今本篇第而非《楚辞释文》篇第。郭氏提出的“班固结集《楚辞》说”虽有疑点,但仍有其合理性,值得我们关注。

The Reader Response Approach to Teaching of English Literature

During interview with English majors, it was found that a majority of students expressed disappointment with their experience of English literature classes. Students' dislike of learning English literature appears to be the major problem of teaching English literature in China. Reader response approach is a good way to solve this problem. In this paper, I explain the rationale behind the reader response approach, such as its origin, definition, features, assumptions, and strategies. Then I illustrate how reader response approach works as a teaching strategy by presenting several teaching models. At last I evaluate its usefuiness for teachers and present the advantages of reader response approach in Chinese context.
