Author's version vs. publisher's version: an analysis of the copy‐editing function

This report describes an informal study carried out by Blackwell Publishing to assess whether the copy‐editing and proof‐correction process alone results in a significant difference between the author's version and the publisher's version of an article accepted for publication. One hundred and eighty‐nine articles were reviewed from 23 journals. The results indicate that a substantial number of changes are made. It is suggested that copy‐editing has an equal role to play in both the printed and online environments, and that in the latter it contributes substantially to the accuracy of the electronic version. Copy‐editing is therefore an important function within the publisher's overall responsibility towards the integrity of the article of record.

Journal article version nomenclature: the NISO/ALPSP recommendations

The National Information Standards Organization (NISO), in partnership with the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP), released a Recommended Practice entitled Journal Article Versions (JAV): Recommendations of the NISO/ALPSP JAV Technical Working Group on 23 June 2008. The article describes the background to this work, some of the key decisions made regarding scope, and the recommended nomenclature and definitions. It also refers to other work in this area.     

Fast Inter Library Loans and Statistics, enhanced version 2.0.

F.I.L.L.S. is a library-specific software package developed by librarians for library staff with little or no computer experience. MacNeal Hospital's Health Science Resource Center designed F.I.L.L.S. to allow libraries to save 60 percent of the time devoted to the interlibrary loan function while improving service to users. As a management tool, F.I.L.L.S. creates a dozen (12) preprogrammed reports that provide invaluable information such as Number of Requests for Periodicals, including copyright information; which libraries are borrowed from frequently; and which libraries provide the fastest or slowest service in filling loan requests. The article describes F.I.L.L.S., its capabilities and its limitations in greater detail.     

"麦克马洪线"与档案版本阴谋

非法的"麦克马洪线"是20世纪初英国为了侵占中国西藏,使用一系列阴谋伎俩,在中印边界东段强加的一条"边界线".为使该线成为事实,英国在20世纪20-30年代极秘密地篡改<艾奇逊条约>版本,本文披露这一史实.     

和版皆川淇园《唐诗通解》的版本渊源

日本德川时代的儒学家皆川淇园解说的《唐诗通解》一书,在日本曾产生一定影响。该书并非以李攀龙《唐诗选》为直接底本,而是以《唐诗选》在汉地的派生本潘耒评《唐诗选平》或《唐诗选平笺注》为依据进行的解说。文章旨在通过对此特定个案的考察,探寻汉籍在流播日本过程中的沿承与衍化。     

许筠《闲情录》引文及引书版本研究

许筠是朝鲜朝中期著名文人学者,他从中国的数十种典籍中摘抄条目以类相从编撰《闲情录》一部。但该书的引用书目及引文摘抄都存在着一些问题,有必要对此一一澄清,以便对该书进行进一步的点校工作。另一方面,引文文字的差异有些是因为版本不同所造成,对此进行分析,可以进一步探讨中国典籍在朝鲜的流传与影响,并为研究各书的版本源流提供更多的旁证。     

吕氏《春秋集解》十二卷本作者与流传之探索

对吕氏《春秋集解》十二卷本与三十卷本的作者等问题,学界有不同的认识。通过对书目著录的分析、十二卷本与三十卷本著录内容的比较,可知十二卷本的作者当为吕本中,而三十卷本是在十二卷本的基础上增益而成的。十二卷本可能亡于宋元之际。对《春秋集解》作者问题的考辨,实可上溯到朱彝尊对其作者的质疑。

A new version of the federal law on information: the terminological aspect

The object of discussion is the definition of the term “information” in the new federal law On Information, Information Technologies and Information Protection of 27.07.2006. It is suggested that information in the normative-legal acts be defined by designation of its substantial and communicative structural formsliable to legal regulation.
