In this paper, we look backwards to educational development principles and practices as implemented in the 1990s at Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, and forward to ideal principles and practices for the design of courses for teachers in higher education. The bridge between the two lies partly in an evaluation study, which we will describe, and partly in the theoretical work of John Bowden on knowledge capabilities for learning for an unknown future. The underlying framework depends on phenomenography, with its theoretical emphasis on learning as becoming able to discern the whole from its background, and how the constituents of the whole relate to one another and to the whole, and its empirical emphasis on qualitative variation in the ways in which students understand, conceptualize or experience phenomena they meet in their studies. A PET model and PET process are described, relating Practice, Experience and Theory through reflective problematization.  相似文献

高职教学模式无论是采用项目教学还是模拟教学,在某种程度上都是将整个教学过程当作了一种戏剧舞台:学生是演员,饰演着一个个工作人员,而学生饰演得好与坏或技能掌握得成功与否,都由教师三重角色发挥的程度高低决定着。而高职教师的三重角色:一是编剧,一是导演,一是主持,这三重身份的达成最终体现在整个教学过程的实现。编剧角色是为项目任务的开展做准备的;导演是在项目任务进行时担任的职责,担任着学生如何开展任务以及开展任务的好坏、需改进地方的点评,控制着整个教学过程的展开;而主持是贯穿整个教学过程的衔接链条,将看似独立零散的项目连成一个整体。项目教学或模拟教学是否成功最终都由高职教学这三重角色的发挥效果决定的。  相似文献

Anatomy education in most African countries is limited by an insufficient number of cadavers for students to undertake dissection. This already significant shortage is exacerbated by an increasing number of medical schools and students. Virtual dissections are impractical in alleviating such a shortfall in African anatomy education, and further cadaver supply is challenged by unethical and dubious sources. This study was designed to assess the knowledge, attitudes, and practice of whole body and organ donation by Nigerian anatomists with the aim of finding solutions to the problems associated with the availability of cadavers in Nigerian medical schools. Out of 46 anatomists that participated in the survey, only 23.9% would consider donating their whole bodies and 60.9% their organs. More than 95% of respondents did not believe that body bequests could become the sole source of cadavers for anatomic dissection in Nigeria. Age and gender were not statistically significant in the choice of being a body or organ donor. The unacceptability to one's family members regarding body donation was the major reason for respondents' unwillingness to make a whole body donation. None of the 14 medical schools sampled in this study have yet instituted a body registration and donation program. The anatomists showed a high level of knowledge and awareness of body bequest programs, which were not reflected by their attitudes and practice. The OFSTED inspection report on Stalham High School praised the quality of its pastoral care and PSE, but also noted that the promotion of students' cultural and spiritual development across the whole curriculum was less satisfactory. The writer describes how the school set about responding to this weakness through the development of a whole-school policy. It was decided to develop an overarching policy for social, moral, cultural and spiritual development. This article discusses the possibility that changing the arrangement of computer courses, from being associated with technical and mathematical subjects to becoming broader courses based on social subjects and arts as well, would lead to an increase in the proportion of women studying and working in this field. It is also shown that most likely a change in this direction would effect the type of technology that is developed, provided that the methods of work are developed to integrate technical subjects into a whole and involve the users in an equal co-operation.
