传统与现代:世外桃源情归何处——以《远逝的天堂》为例

传统时代的阿伦贝皮是一个温情、平等、同质性很强的小渔村,但在全球化浪潮的席卷之下逐渐蜕变成冷漠、分化、异质性的现代社区。虽然全球化时代下阿尔贝皮的人们的生活质量、医疗卫生和教育水平得到了明显改善,但是传统捕鱼技艺的丧失、社区精神的瓦解以及社会生活方式的崩溃却给阿尔贝皮的发展蒙上了阴影。未来的阿尔贝皮既不能仅仅回归传统,又不能只走向现代,而是要在传统与现代之间寻找平衡点,谋求良性发展。在通往现代的道路上,政府、社会和个体都应该以积极的态度面对可能出现的各种现代问题。     

新发现的明成化《军政条例》研究——以孤本弘治《军政条例续集》为例

《军政条例》是明代治理军队的重要法律文献。《军政条例续集》成书于成化,重刊于弘治初,以成化内容最多。成化时期,卫所逃军仍屡禁不止,国家在之前的《军政条例》基础上推出《军政条例续集》,进一步完善清勾逃军的法律。《军政条例续集》既有对前朝条例的继承也有所创新,但重点仍是通过法律解决卫所军缺问题,反映出条例因时因事而立的特点。     

Title IX and Retaliation: The Impact of Jackson v. Birmingham Board of Education on Higher Education

In 2005, the United States Supreme Court rendered a closely divided opinion that extends the protections against discrimination provided by Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 to include a private cause of action for retaliation in Jackson v. Birmingham Board of Education. Therefore, “whistleblowers,” or employees who report allegedly discriminatory practices, can file suit against employers who retaliate against them on the basis of their complaints under the auspices of Title IX, which prohibits discrimination “on the basis of sex” by recipients of federal education funds. Unlike other federal anti-discrimination laws such as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, retaliation is not expressly mentioned within the text of Title IX, and the Supreme Court reasoned that the broad language of the statute encompasses implied protections against retaliation, regardless of the gender of the employee who alleges retaliatory action. As a result of Jackson, the first generation of litigation against colleges and universities under this expanded standard has begun to navigate the federal courts. This article analyzes the Supreme Court’s opinion in Jackson and the related cases representing the first application of the retaliation standard articulated therein to colleges and universities. The article concludes with suggestions for insulation from liability associated with alleged retaliation claims against administrators and educational institutions.

A Discourse Analysis of the Online Mathematics Classroom

ABSTRACT

The current study seeks to analyze university students’ perceptions of online peer assessment (PA) with regard to its effectiveness as a learning tool and as a contributing factor to motivation and interaction. Participants also responded to questions about self-perceived writing strength, attitudes toward peer review, and experiences with peer review. The survey was administered via link online for students who report having completed peer review in online courses. Results from participants revealed that students generally believe peer review to be effective, helpful to learning, increasing communication skills, and as contributing to a stronger written end product. Students also agreed that peer review increases interaction, participation, and a sense of community. Attitudes toward peer review indicate that female students are more intimidated by giving peer reviews than their male classmates, but they felt less intimidated online as compared to face-to-face. More experienced students and students farther along in their college careers are less likely to give peer reviews that are affected by the ones they receive. The results indicate that peer review is an important teaching and learning tool that merits more research with particular attention to gender and other demographic data.     

Scieszka’s The Stinky Cheese Man : A Tossed Salad of Parodic Re-versions

The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales (1992) by Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith was awarded a Randolph Caldecott Honor Medal in 1993. Scieszka and Smith subvert textual authority through playing “with literary and cultural codes and conventions” (McCallum 1996, p. 400) in their metafictive text. In this article, I discuss the intertextual and parodic nature of The Stinky Cheese Man and explore Grade 5 students’ responses to this postmodern picturebook. Excerpts from students’ written responses and small group peer-led discussions illustrate some of their responses to and interpretations of the re-versions of the tales, the interactive nature of the characters and the obtrusive narrator, and the design of the book. Sylvia Pantaleo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the Faculty of Education at the University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in children’s literature and all areas of the language arts.

成人视角下的儿童本位:以林良散文《小太阳》为例

《小太阳》是林良以成人视角构思的散文集。首先,作者通过话语权的转交,让儿童发出了自己的"声音";其次,引号的运用更好地践行了作者的"浅语"主张,真正以儿童能够接受的语言来写作,而独立的时空叙事使得读者不会因为时代而产生隔阂;最后,林良还最大程度地实现了作品的"柔软性",使其带上了更多的童话色彩。《小太阳》因此也获得了长久性的文学价值。

A Discourse Analysis of Online Dialogs in Social Work Diversity Courses

Abstract

Online discussions can extend learning experiences beyond the time and space of the classroom, allowing students more time to process information, and an additional mode of expression for those who are less active in open classroom discussions. They may be especially appropriate for teaching sensitive or controversial subject matter such as oppression and diversity, which is required by the Council on Social Work Education. This study investigated topical themes, depth, and tone of online dialogs in social work diversity courses at two universities in the mid-Atlantic area. Discourse analysis-a type of content analysis-is employed to gain a deeper understanding of the learning experience, and to compare the impact of anonymous and identified participation in the dialogs.

从软件工程中软件测评的一个重要指标--可学习性的视角,探索高校精品课程网络资源的建设与评价新维度;依据可学习性评估指标,对高校现有12863门各级精品课程采用计算机辅助分层抽样方式进行可学习性评估.结果发现,精品课程网络资源虽然在界面设计、导航的直观性、链接的有效性等方面基本满足学习需求,但却不能保证学习者顺利使用资源并在过程中感到一定的愉快感或者满足感,这直接影响学习效率和效果.通过可学习性分析与评估可以为新一轮高校精品课程及网络资源建设、应用与评估提供依据和参考指标.     

多模态话语分析与高职英语口语教学
