This article will analyze the factors of Taobao’s success, its market positioning, e-payment from the perspective of the economics. As well give some suggestions on further development.     

Teacher learning： Reflective practice as a site of engagement for professional identity construction

This paper reports a qualitative study in response to the growing research interest in teacher learning. Informed by a sociocultural perspective, teacher learning is considered as a process of identity construction in the paper. This paper taps into the development of teacher identity embedded in teacher learning and views reflection as a social practice for enhancing teacher learning. Through a close analysis of a selected discussion thread, this paper aims to demonstrate that teacher-learners＇ reflective practice in the online learning community provided a site of engagement for developing their professional identity and shaping the practice of teaching in their process of learning to teach.     

A new microelectronics curriculum created by Synopsys, Inc.

Rapid changes in integrated circuits （IC） technology and constantly shrinking process geometries demand a new curriculum that meets the contemporary requirements for IC design. This is especially important for 90nm and below technologies and the use of state-of-the-art EDA design tools and advanced IC design techniques. The creation of new curriculum is laborious and requires a combination of effort from many specialists from different countries to obtain the best quality. This paper describes the experience in developing a new microelectronics curriculum, based on using Synopsys EDA tools, that is successfully deployed in leading technical universities around the world.

Influence of reaction piles on test pile response in a static load test

This work presents a new analytical method to analyze the influence of reaction piles on the test pile response in a static load test.In our method,the interactive effect between soil and pile is simulated using independent springs and the shear displacement method is adopted to analyze the influence of reaction piles on test pile response.Moreover,the influence of the sheltering effect between reaction piles and test pile on the test pile response is taken into account.Two cases are analyzed to verify the rationality and efficiency of the present method.This method can be easily extended to a nonlinear response of an influenced test pile embedded in a multilayered soil,and the validity is also demonstrated using centrifuge model tests and a computer program presented in the literature.The present analyses indicate that the proposed method will lead to an underestimation of the test pile settlement in a static load test if the influence of the presence of reaction piles on the test pile response is neglected.

New event detection based on sorted subtopic matching algorithm

How to quickly and accurately detect new topics from massive data online becomes a main problem of public opinion monitoring in cyberspace. This paperpresents a new event detection method for the current new event detection system, based on sorted subtopic matching algorithm and constructs the entire design framework. In this p~per, the subtopics contained in old topics （or news stories） are sorted in descending order according to their importance to the topic（or news stories）, and form a sorted subtopic sequence. In the process of subtopic matching, subtopic scoring matrix is used to determine whether a new story is reporting a new event. Experimental results show that the sorted subtopic matching model improved the accuracy and effectiveness ofthenew event detection system in cyberspace.     

The rapid structured literature review as a research strategy

A diversity of sources of literature encompassed by the management disciplines appears to result in a growing need for a systematic methodology to map the territory of management theory. As such, when scoping out a study, structured literature review （SLR） can be considered as a means by which any critical, central literature might be considered. However, there is little guidance, or evidence, of this being undertaken for the purposes of small scale projects such as undergraduate or masters＇ dissertations. This paper reports four case studies of master＇s degree students following management programmes of undertaking a structured literature review （SLR） and the issues and problems they had to encounter during their journey. The findings from the case studies suggest that in terms of time to complete and the volume of output required in terms of word count, Tranfield, et al＇s （2003） approach to SLR＇s, whilst suited to doctoral level research is not appropriate generally when dealing with undergraduate and masters research projects. Therefore, this paper provides accounts of the experiences of four students who undertook SLR for their undergraduate or master＇s degree dissertation. The paper identifies that these students had to deal with a new set of conceptual problems relating to this ＂unorthodox＂ approach to a postgraduate research dissertation in coming to terms with new paradigms of enquiry that are not normally taught as part of a traditional research methods course. This was despite gaining a greater depth of insight into the subject area through a more rigorous and structured manner. The paper presents alternative remedies by way of a rapid structured literature review （RSLR） model. This would appear to be more appropriate to the conducting of small scale literature based research projects when used with undergraduate and master＇s degree students than SLR identified for other research activities.     

A novel current-sharing scheme based on magamp

The magamp （magnetic amplifier） is widely used in power supplies due to its low cost, simplicity and other advantages. This paper discusses a novel application of the magamp in switching power supplies, where the magamp is used to regulate pulse width modulation （PWM） instead of power signal in the main circuit. This method extends the application of the magamp in power supplies, and makes it possible to further regulate control signal when PWMs have been generated. Based on this applica- tion, a new current-sharing （CS） scheme using the magamp is proposed, which uses a modified inner loop CS structure. In this scheme PWMs are generated by one main controller, and CS is achieved by regulating PWMs using a magamp in each module. Compared with traditional application of the magamp, the new CS scheme can be used in most topologies and only requires magamps of low power capacity. Then a test circuit of parallel power supply is developed, in which CS is achieved by a PWM regulator with the magamp. The proposed scheme is also used to upgrade an electroplate power to make it capable of paralleling supplies. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme has good CS performance.     

NDMP-Plus： An Improved Protocol for Network Based Data Management

Network based data management is the backup/restore mechanism used in a data storage center. This paper presents a new network based data management-NDMP-Plus, a revision of network data management protocol. Components and the working mechanism of the NDMP-Plus architecture are first discussed. Two new techniques in NDMP-Plus-virtual storage layer （VSL） and negotiation mechanism are then studied. VSL is a crucial component to achieve flexibility, and the negotiation mechanism is a key to improve performance. Furthermore, experiments are carried out to evaluate the performance of NDMP-Plus. The result suggests that NDMP-Plus has stronger flexibility and better performance than NDMP.     

A Survey of Current Teacher-student Relationship in College English Teaching

The reform of English teaching has become a hot topic recently.This article is going to discuss the role of one of the affective factors-teacher-student relationship in English teaching.Two questionnaires are designed in order to find out the current relationship between English teachers and students in college English classes and the imperfect relationship is revealed by the analysis.Then several suggestions about how to establish the new equal and harmonious teacher-student relationship are presented.     

Synchronized strategy to minimize vehicle dispatching time： a real example of steel industry

Time compression in supply chains is a crucial aspect involved in the integration of warehousing and transport operations in the manufacturing industries. Sup- ply chain flows could be interrupted due to many sources of delays that lead to additional time in dispatching process and reduction in customer service level. The problem considered in this paper consists of long waiting times of loading vehicles inside the plant. This work presents a simulation-based study to minimize vehicle dispatching time in a steel wire plant. Value stream map is developed to present a system perspective of processes involved in the overall supply chain. Process activity mapping is com- pleted to provide a step by step analysis of activities involved in the vehicle dispatch process. A simulation model is developed for the system and a new model is proposed to improve the delivery performance by mini- mizing vehicles＇ waiting time.

This paper is an attempt to apply SW to English teaching. Meanwhile, it also evaluates the silent way in terms of its characteristics and criticism from the view of language learning theories.     

Extracting Moving Objects Based on Morphological Motion Filter

This paper presents a new approach to the extraction of a moving object from video sequence.The method is based on morphological motion filter using connected operator and a propsed new filtering criterion.The morphological motion filter aims to detect motion which is distinct from that of the background,and thereby locates independently moving physical objects in the secnes.Experiments show that the algorithm can extract object from moving backgrounds efficiently.     

Identification of waterflooded zones and the impact of waterflooding on reservoir properties of the Funing Formation in the Subei Basin, China

This paper describes the identification of waterflooded zones and the impact of waterflooding on reservoir properties of sandstones of the Funing Formation at the Gao 6 Fault-block of the Gaoji Oilfield,in the Subei Basin,east China.This work presents a new approach based on a back-propagation neural network using well log data to train the network,and then generating a cross-plot plate to identify waterflooded zones.A neural network was designed and trained,and the results show that the new method is better than traditional methods.For a comparative study,two representative wells at the Gao 6 Fault-block were chosen for analysis:one from a waterflooded zone,and the other from a zone without waterflooding.Results from this analysis were used to develop a better understanding of the impact of waterflooding on reservoir properties.A range of changes are shown to have taken place in the waterflooded zone,including changes in microscopic pore structure,fluids,and minerals.     

Improving educational assessment： A computer-adaptive multiple choice assessment using NRET as the scoring method

Assessment is central to any educational process. Number Right （NR） scoring method is a conventional scoring method for multiple choice items, where students need to pick one option as the correct answer. One point is awarded for the correct response and zero for any other responses. However, it has been heavily criticized for guessing and failure to credit partial knowledge. Despite continued research in scoring methods, conventional NR scoring method remains the most popular and widely used procedure. Thus, the problem of crediting partial knowledge and guessing still exist. In addition, the current assessment practices do not take students＇ misconceptions into consideration. Thus, there is a need to propose a new scoring method that is able to minimize guessing, credit partial knowledge, yet able to diagnose misconceptions. This study proposed the development of a Computer-Adaptive Assessment Software （CAAS） for MC items using the new Number Right Elimination Testing （NRET） which take into consideration these three elements. This paper described the rational for using the NRET, the design and development of CAAS and the results of the pilot study carried out in three secondary schools in Malaysia.
