This paper critically examines competing demands placed on teachers, with reference to recent inclusion policy in England and Australia. The authors draw on Michael Foucault’s analysis of power, neoliberalism(s) and biopolitics to explore the ways in which teachers are ‘responsibilised’ into negotiating and fulfilling demands related to both state-imposed accountability practices and social justice agendas. The economic context and associated ‘politics of austerity’ are taken into account in a critical exploration of how the (biopolitical) management of inclusion in the neoliberal present coincides with diminishing funding for social and educational expertise, with ever-increasing responsibilities being placed on teachers to fill this void. The responsibilisation of teachers in recent legislation and statutory guidance discursively constructs the teacher as a professional who takes responsibility for student and school performance, pastoral care, inclusion and social change. Responsibilisation relies on ‘dividing practices’, obliging some teachers to assess the conformity of colleagues to inclusion policy.  相似文献

Under appropriate conditions, with the perturbation method and the theory of differential inequalities, a class of weakly nonlinear singularly perturbed reaction diffusion problem is considered. The existence of solution of the original problem is proved by constructing the auxiliary functions. The uniformly valid asymptotic expansions of the solution for arbitrary mth order approximation are obtained through constructing the formal solutions of the original problem, expanding the nonlinear terms to the power in small parameter e and comparing the coefficient for the same powers of ε. This paper begins by characterizing typical training programs on “learning to think,” in terms of: their breadth, generality and specificity; the types of tasks and solution methods; and the guidance to students (assigning them to alternative programs; registering and reacting to their mistakes, requests for help, etc.). The paper then outlines some strengths and weaknesses of past research and sets out criteria appropriate for an aptitude-treatment interaction (ATI) study of the relationship between tasks, training methods and student attributes. Finally, an account is given of exemplary ATI experiments, administered via a computer, on the immediate and delayed effects of teaching algorithmic and heuristic solution methods. The tasks involve inductive reasoning (the extrapolation of number series) and deductive reasoning (the evaluation of syllogisms).  相似文献
