My English Learning Experience

This essay is aimed at reflecting my English learning experience,which is divided into three stages:The first six years’of study as a junior and senior high school student,when I always got high scores in the exams.I thought I was a sucessful English learner at that time.Four years as an English major in a teacher’s college,where I found my English was as other people called "Chinglish".No matter how hard I worked I couldn’t talk freely with native speakers.As time went on,I got to know the phenomenon belonging to interlanguage fossilization of English learning.Two years later after I graduated from the university,I went to University of Canberra to study my Master degree,there I found the essential factors that could help me get over fossilization through enhanced motivation,increased comprehensible input and production of communicative output.     

Relationship between MT(Mother Tongue) and FL(English Learning)

Through four Chapters’analysis,I analyze the relationship between mother tongue and English,the effects of internal factors like age of learners,intellegence and external Factors such as attitudes,and integrative and instrumental motivation on English Learning in order to tell the readers what the aspects are to affect English learning.At the meaning time,the positive and negative roles of Mother Tongue in English Learning are emphasized so as to conclude the importance of mother tomgue learning on English learning.In the end,by having experienced 20 years’English learning and several years’working as an English translator or interpreter,I present my personal ideas about the effects of mother tongue’s learning on English learning and also suggest some ways or methods for the English learning beginners during the learning process.

A Discursive Psychology Approach to English Learning Experiences Narrative: What’s Behind the Failures?

This article takes a discursive psychology approach to the analysis of Non-English major students’ English learning experience narrative. The students took part in my survey are those just say goodbye to the high school and are freshmen in college now. The English learning experience narrative is in a form of diary. The Ways to Motivate the Senior High School Students to Learn English

Abstract:Although our country has attached great importance to English education,especially to the senior high schools’English teaching and learning,there still exist a great number of senior high school students who can’t learn English well.Low learning motivation is one of the major causes.Thus,it is urgent to improve the senior high school students’English learning motivation in the present English education process.In this paper,starting with the definition of learning motivation,and based on attribution theory,need theory,the author will roughly discuss the internal factors and external factors,which lead to the senior high school students’low English learning motivation,and then analyze the possible ways to motivate the students to learn English.
