This article discusses a study that compared the moral development of professional and paraprofessional counselors and trainees; measuring the effects training programs had on their cognitive moral development. The results revealed that the professional group has a higher level of moral development, and counselor training has no effect on moral development. 相似文献

Abstract The use of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM IV) as a teaching tool for social workers to understand mental illness has been debated for many years. The general consensus is that social workers need to be “familiar” with this classification system. Social Work's person in environment perspective, however, requires additional tools of assessment. This article provides the Alternative Lenses of Assessment as one such tool: Developmental-Adaptive lens, Political- Economic lens, Sociocultural lens, Neurobiological lens, and Situational- Environmental lens. A pedagogical method for presenting these lenses through clinical vignettes is provided. Student response to the Lenses using student-authored clinical vignettes is also discussed. 相似文献

This study compared 55 counselor education students with 34 junior college students being trained as counseling paraprofessionals, regarding their personality and predicted counseling effectiveness. All members of both groups were enrolled in practicums at their respective institutions. The two groups differed significantly on 8 of 16 personality characteristics as measured by the 16 Personality Factor Questionnaire. And a higher percentage of the paraprofessionals received lower ratings as determined by a regression equation used to predict counseling effectiveness. 相似文献

中国社会正处于转型期,同质性日益瓦解,各种纠纷繁复,这就使得单一化纠纷解决机制不可能满足社会需求,其内在的弊害也日益呈显。构建多元化纠纷解决机制是当今国际社会的通行做法,也是当下中国的必然选择。其深层原因可以通过下述现象得以透视:社会批判理论对现代性和现代法治的反思、真理观上由“符合论”向“共识论”的转变以及追求“无讼”和注重“调停”的传统文化的影响。深度探究其所倚赖的内在成因机制,对当下的法治建设和多元化纠纷机制的建构无疑具有宏观的指导意义。 相似文献

ABSTRACTSocial justice has been suggested as a possible global moral framework for school psychology. It is, however, culturally understood and research suggests that the engagement with “social justice” in school psychology has been largely limited to a U.S. context. This project sought to extend international understandings and practices of social justice in school psychology. A thematic analysis of nine interviews with educational psychologists based in England was conducted. Social justice was defined as complex, and participants suggested it is important to educational psychology practice in part because of current cuts to public services and educational reforms. Findings also indicated a role for social justice consultation, building relationships, and engaging with broader macrolevel work to enact a social justice agenda. We discuss these findings in relation to previous literature, concluding that our research begins to document the seeds of a broader social justice agenda in school psychology. 相似文献
