Computer Use and Academic Development in Secondary Schools

Several studies provide preliminary evidence that computer use is positively related to academic performance; however, no clear relationship has yet been established. Using a national database, we analyzed how students’ school behavior (i.e., evaluated by English and math teachers) and standardized test scores (e.g., math and reading) are related to computer use for school work or other than school work for the tenth grade student. While controlling socioeconomic status (SES), home computer access, parental involvement, and students’ academic expectation variables, the students who used a computer for one hour per day showed more positive school behaviors and higher reading and math test scores. This article concludes with implications for future study to better understand the impact of computer use on adolescent academic development.     

Educator Perceptions and Use of Technology in South African Schools

ABSTRACT

South African schools experience diverse access to educational technology. Further, South African educators have limited opportunities to attend educator professional development workshops focused on technology integration. These differences can have a tremendous impact on students’ educational experiences and educators’ levels of self-efficacy toward implementing technology in their school settings. To provide further support and training opportunities to educators in South African township schools, administrators are able to partner with nongovernmental organizations and institutions of higher education. This article provides an overview of South African educational contexts and how partnerships can be formed to provide educator support to integrate educational technology in township schools.     

关于研究性学习的研究

在探索实施素质教育的进程中,研究性学习不仅在教育理论界而且在广大中学引起广泛关注。但无论是理论上的诠释抑或在实践中的实施,它仅与研究型课程相关连,却与其他类型的课程及日常教学相割离。以至一些中学在关于研究性学习的研讨中对如何独立开设以研究性学习为主要方式的研究型课程感到非常困惑,并质疑它是否具有普遍性和可持续性。本刊特发此文,以飨读者。     

基于学习任务的中职课堂教学研究与实践--以《3ds Max三维动画设计》课程为例

三维动画在模型塑造、场景渲染、动画及特效等方面都能制作表现出高品质的对象效果,这使其在当今室内设计、建筑表现、产品设计、影视与游戏制作、广告特效等领域中占据领导地位。在此形势下,我国各类中职院校纷纷设置相应的动画专业方向课程,与社会就业方向同步。本文根据3ds Max课程的教学实践,就在中职《3ds Max三维动画设计》课程过程中如何组织课堂教学、创设“学习任务”进行了探讨。     

我国中小学网校发展现状的研究

近十年,我国互联网的发展突飞猛进,随之也广泛地应用到教育领域,中小学网校就是在这样的背景下应运而生的。但是,正是这样缺乏引导和规范的迅猛发展,不可避免地出现了一系列的问题和困惑,亟待给予更多的关注和研究。作者通过文献调研、网站调研、案例分析等研究方法,全面了解目前我国中小学网校的发展状况,并对一些在全国有较大影响和比较典型的中小学网校现状进行了对比、研究。本文的主要内容包括对中小学网校发展现状的梳理、存在问题的分析和一些改进建议。作者希望能够给从事远程教育,尤其是从事中小学网校的广大从业人员和关注这项事业的相关人员提供一定的参考和帮助。     

中职机械专业《AutoCAD》课程教学方法探讨

AutoCAD是由美国Autodesk公司开发的一款计算机辅助设计软件,在机械设计中应用得相当普遍.对于中职机械专业的学生来讲,熟练运用这个软件是至关重要的.本文从三方面八手,对AutoCAD课程的教学方法进行了探讨,目的是激发学生的学习兴趣,提高课堂教学效果,有利于增强中职生的综合能力和培养高素质的应用型人才.     

关于中小学教育科研的几个问题

当前基层学校开展中小学教育科研或校本研究存在六大问题:(1)中小学教育科研即等于做课题研究;(2)"两张皮"现象;(3)与教育教学任务冲突、矛盾增大、增多;(4)课题获得不均衡现象突出;(5)支撑条件不到位,而多重机构及其指挥的"负面"作用显现;(6)"写科研"或"写研究"的问题。通过梳理,客观呈现基层学校对中小学教育科研的认识和看法;通过分析,则发现这些问题的根源,早已存在于中小学教育科研或校本研究的开展起点上,并通过与宏观环境和科研体制的共振而将问题激发了出来。也可以说,在中小学教育科研或校本研究的目标和定位上,就已存在了一定的错位。     

中学数学中的证明

证明是检验方案的一种类型,证明有构造性证明与非构造性证明之分。信息时代的中学生需要熟悉各种不同类型的检验方案,目前的中学数学中涉及到的大多数证明都是构造性的。在很多情况下,许多检验方案与古典类型的构造性证明相比更有效,概率论方法就这样的检验方案之一。将一些不同于经典证明的检验方案应用到中学数学教学中去,用以培养学生新的数学观是十分必要的。     

International Education: Perceptions of Teachers in International Schools

As a contribution to research in the field of international education, this study investigated the views of a number of teachers based in 'international schools' around the world with respect to the importance of a range of different factors in contributing to the experience of international education for students. In considering responses with a view to identifying the key features of such an education from the teacher perspective, responses were categorised in terms of their relationship to a number of dimensions including exposure to other students within school, the influence of teachers, the formal curriculum, links with the local community and informal aspects of school. Results showed a clear perception of the importance of the influence of teachers and of exposure to other students within school, with informal activities being considered least important. Comparison with a previous study investigating the perceptions of undergraduates with respect to their own school-based international education suggests differences in perceived importance between the two groups. Results suggest the direction for future research in this area, including consideration of the perceptions of students still at school with respect to the same set of issues.     

山西省中小学家校合作现状研究

研究者对山西省11个市的中小学校长、教师、家长、学生进行了家校合作现状的抽样调查。研究结果显示,家长、教师、学校都有家校合作的意愿,学校最为积极,学生也反应强烈,但家长反映一般;家校合作的形式多样。目前中小学家校合作中存在的问题主要有:合作的形式多样,但内容单一;家校合作缺乏常设组织机构和组织章程;家校之间互动较少。     

浅论音乐在中学历史教学中的运用

在中学历史教学中适当地运用音乐辅助教学,可以收到良好的教学效果。在历史教学中运用音乐,应当遵循科学性与趣味性统一、适时适度、因材施教和充分挖掘教材等原则。

加强中职学生的口语训练,提高英语应用能力是中职学生英语学习的基本要求。目前,中职英语口语教学仍存在学生口语表达能力差异大、教学缺乏真实的语言环境和材料等诸多问题。文章探索多种教学策略在中职英语口语教学中的具体应用,突出中职英语教学的实用性和针对性,以期提高学生在职场和生活场景下的综合语言应用能力。     

对中职学校师生冲突及其特点的实证研究

调查显示：中职师生冲突具有普遍性,课堂纪律的好坏是引起师生冲突的主要原因,冲突给师生双方带来强烈的消极情绪,教师的解决方式与学生期望的有差异。因此,中职教师应主动改变传统的教学模式和解决冲突的方式,中职学校应加强对学生的心理辅导,中职学校应积极构建健康和谐的校园文化。

一、从不同视角界定"行动研究" 1."行动研究是什么?"与"行动研究不是什么?" 在将行动研究作为一种研究方法的时候,人们必然要研究行动研究是什么。不同的人就这个问题提出了不同的看法。     

Tracking in Secondary Schools: A Contextual Perspective

Tracking is nearly ubiquitous in secondary schools despite evidence suggesting its general ineffectiveness and likely negative effects on students in low tracks. Here it is argued that consideration of two contexts in which tracking is embedded is required for understanding how tracking works and why it persists. The schooling context (tracking's consequences for school and classroom practice) permits understanding of how tracking's educational effects may occur. The societal context (the beliefs, values, and circumstances that originally influenced the institution of tracking and may continue to shape current practice) provides an understanding of why tracking, and not some other approach, was adopted as the means for managing student diversity. It also provides insight into how race and class were historically confounded with tracking and may continue to influence practice. Analyses of these contexts suggest that tracking profoundly influences the day-to-day conduct of schools and reflects assumptions about how schools should respond to student diversity. This contextual view of tracking permits an understanding of why tracking is not easily reconsidered.

评价学生作品要从促进学生发展入手,重视学生兴趣和能力的培养,使学生积极主动而心情愉悦地学习,充分发挥学生的创造性和个性特长。要根据作品评价中的多元标准,尊重每个学生的独立性,不能用统一的标准来评价学生,要体现多媒体制作课程的基本特征。评价方式要多样化,在评价中突出学生的主体地位。
