Is there such a thing as too much data? If not,who is going to be responsible for selecting what we keep? There is only starting to be a profession of data curation.Data curation will need at least three skills: expertise from library,archive and museum studies about choosing,preserving and explaining to users;expertise from computer science and engineering about data processing,data exploration and data storage methods;and expertise from the subject area of the material,so as to know what the data means,where it came from,and what its significance is.Will we do this work with a committee,or train one person to do everything;and if the latter,is that person likely to start from the library,computing,or subject domain?     

Use of a retrieval algorithm of keypoints in an information system ensuring the frame stability during digitization of archival film footage

One of the main technical tasks of any cinema archives-in which are deposited the movies as film footage-is the digitization of analog content to achieve two main goals, i.e. to provide a termless storage and a secure access to archival film footage Belousov, Vinokur and Vasin. The information contents stored as film footage are very large, many of the films are unique and don't occur in another form; and this storage method makes difficult their access and threatens their existence in unmodified state itself. The film degradation in form of medium shrinkage with aftermodification of geometry in the form of edges' shrinking, bending and bowing of the film surface, and destruction of the emulsion layer degrades the technical quality of the image, and leads to its complete loss. The data presentation in digital form eliminates this disadvantage and increases the accessibility of the film footage, allowing the selective access, including multimedia network, be it TV or Internet.       

Research on the influencing factors framework of data demand management of university scientific researchers北大核心CSSCI

The environment and pattern of scientific research are developing towards digital, open and community-oriented , and influenced by the increasingly diversified data resources and the mature of various methods. All these make the researchers' demand becoming more complicated and deepened. The evolution of scientific research puts forward higher requirement for the data demand management of collegial researchers. We constructed an analytical framework of the influencing factors of data demand management for scientific researchers based on the grounded theory. The interaction of key elements involved in the framework was analyzed , aiming to reveal the influence mechanism of key factors on researchers, data demand management. This research is composed of four parts research problem generation data collection data processing and theory construction. Staged collection method was used in data collection mainly through personal indepth interview and focus group meeting and the data we collected was supplemented and verified by the data and comments in various scientific research platforms. Data standardization and reduction was carried out by the qualitative analysis software Nvivo 12.0 , and the original data was coded in three-level: Open coding , spindle coding and selective coding. The USCT framework we constructed contains 8 main categories: Personal ability characteristic , user perception , personalized service, knowledge service, task context , mobile information context , technology application and technology fit , involving 24 categories and 67 initial concepts. All categories and concepts were generalized into 4 layers: Key layer (user dimension), guarantee layer (service dimension), driven layer (context dimension) and foundation layer (technology dimension). In the subsequent analysis of interactive relationship and internal correlative mechanism between main categories and data demand management we found personal ability characteristic of user personalized service and task context to be the most direct impact factor on data demand management while user perception knowledge service mobile information context technology application and technology fit work in an indirect way. The USCT model framework has several positive effects: 1) it contributes to the construction and perfection of the conceptual system and framework of scientific research data demand management 2 it provides a reliable guiding analysis model for the construction of a science data service platform to promote scientific research and innovation. We innovatively constructed an analysis framework for the influencing factors of data demand management of university researchers. This framework organically integrates " user” (scientific researcher, subject librarian), “services", “context” and “technology” into one system. We attempt to guide and develop the researcher's scientific data needs under their knowledge environment through computer information technology and ultimately guarantee the provision of suitable service. Further demonstration and service practices are needed to verify and perfect the theory. Follow-up studies can take “user-context-service-technology” as the main line for empirical research and explore the external features and internal path mechanisms of data demand management in all domains. 6 figs. 3 tabs. 49 refs. © 2019, Editorial Office of Journal of Library Science in China. The Multi-point Regional Online Book Circulation Platform Based on the Intelligent Collaboration北大核心

The multi-point regional online book circulation platform is a collaborative service model which realizes the integration of regional library warehousing and automatic management of the whole process by cloud platform in a certain area. The concept and algorithmic technology application of the intelligent collaboration provide the technical support for the resource control and allocation, the multi-agent cooperation and interaction, the business and service coordination for the multi-point regional online book circulation platform. The multipoint regional online book circulation platform based on the intelligent collaboration can relieve the pressure of library collection space, expand the radiation range and service radius of collection resources, and facilitate the storage, deployment and service of regional literature resources, all of which meet the requirements of green and energy saving development of smart libraries. It is found that the multi-point regional online book circulation platform based on the intelligent collaboration has the application scenarios and service functions for user service, intelligent stereo book warehousing and library management, and it is a platform service supply mode of smart libraries incorporating management and service. With a variety of technologies such as Internet of Things, big data, machine learning, intelligent collaboration, cloud platform, etc., this model has the following functions: supporting the multi-intelligent device collaboration management, the dynamic multi-task allocation and the multi-agent intelligent collaborative decision-making, which could be helpful for the collection space planning, resource allocation and joint decision-making among libraries; forming the integrated service model, which could optimize the business flow collaboration, prospective literature resource allocation and intelligent recommendation; implementing the remote intelligent coordination control for the data security and risk and emergencies, which could realize the integrated safety management and standardized operation of multiple libraries with a small amount of human, material and financial resources. The primary construction scheme of this platform has been adopted and put into practice by Foshan Library. Information Systems: Problems of Image Registration and Reproduction

Due to the rapid development of visualization tools and technologies, the image information plays in the life of society a more and more large role in the course of time. There are widespread different image search and display systems which develop and could be integrated in various information systems. Long ago, many sections had been separated from the fundamental sphere of image information processing as independent directions with specific scientific objectives, such as computer graphics, computer vision, digital photography and others. The tendency to separation of new directions intended for different problems solving persists still, what is confirmed by the enormous annual number of publications. A wide variety of software products can meet the needs practically of any specific problem. But in present variety of image information processing it is possible to separate some general tendencies and some main central problems, which solving determines the image quality and the information systems operation evaluated by ultimate consumer.

Media representation of Chinese Dream in Taiwai： Taking Taiwan＇ s United Daily as an Example

Drawn on empirical data to construct a corpus of Chinese Dream, this corpus-based study investigates a discur- sive construction of Chinese Dream in Taiwan＇ s newspaper of United Daily. The finding of the analysis shows that in United Daily, a discursive construction of Chinese Dream is usually framed and represented within the discussion of the structure of cross-Strait bilateral relationship. Usage of linguistic units such as ＂co-construct,＂ ＂co-harmony＂ and ＂dialogue＂ points to a highly-anticipated expectation of the realization of Chinese Dream.

The Wellcome Trust supports open access publishing via the author pays model and through the deposition of peer reviewed papers into PubMed Central.The costs of disseminating research and the author pays model should be seen as part of research costs and is estimated to be approximately 1%-2% of the grant funding budget.A PubMed Central version of the article adds value to the arti- cle through additional functions especially provide links between the literature and the data.
