Victoria Purcell-Gates is an Assistant Professor of Literacy at the University of Cincinnati, and Director of the Manney Literacy Center at the university, which serves inner-city children having problems with reading and writing. She is an active researcher of emergent literacy, with an emphasis of oral and written language differences.

Faculty dynamation: Guided empowerment

Dynamation is the integrative process whereby the sum total of all learning, knowledge, experiences, and feelings are brought to bear on productive, creative action and problem solving. In this paper, we describe some of the benefits of dynamation, outline a general approach to it-including the importance of friendship (the core of the empowerment process)- and explain several key incentives that will encourage faculty, through dynamation, to engage in growth activities. Throughout the article we discuss ten techniques developers can use. Our focus is on informal facilitator-enhanced (guided) empowerment. That is, we look at growth that is likely to result when developers work with faculty with the goal of growth, change, and development.Richard L. Nurturing faculty vitality by matching institutional interventions with career-stage needs

A questionnaire study, modeled after Baldwin's 1979 research on faculty at a liberal arts college, was conducted with 42 Lilly Teaching Fellows and Lilly Mentors at a large, public, research-oriented university in the Southeast U.S.A. Results from the study support the notion that one of the keys to a successful instructional and faculty development program is to target activities to the academic career stage of the faculty member.Patricia Kalivoda works in the Office of Instructional Development at The University of Georgia. She holds an MBA and an Ed.D. from The University of Georgia. Her research focuses on faculty career development and faculty vitality. Geraldine Rogers Sorrell is Special Populations Coordinator at Middle Georgia Technical Institute. She holds an M.Ed.and an Ed.D. from The University of Georgia. She specializes in faculty and staff development, and career counseling. Ronald D. Simpson is Director of the Office of Instructional Development at The University of Georgia, where he also is professor of Higher Education and Science Education. He holds degrees from The University of Tennessee and The University of Georgia.

试验于2012年8月至2013年7月在西北农林科技大学北校区试验田中进行,选择小偃22为试验材料,采取叶面喷施果宝调节剂研究其对小偃22产量及品质的效应.试验结果表明,叶面喷施果宝调节剂显著提高了小偃22产量和品质.处理小麦的成穗数(513.6~520.3)×105个/hm2,较对照增加1.1%~2.8%、小穗数18.8~18.9个/穗,较对照增加4.7%~5.8%、穗粒数29.4~29.8粒/穗,较对照增加2.9%~4.5%、千粒重43.8~45.6 g,较对照增加1.3%~5.6%、不孕小穗数3.7~4.1个/穗,较对照减少7.7%~17.0%、产量5 790.4~6 115.6 kg/hm2,较对照增加3.9%~9.7%,容重787.6~789.6 g/L,较对照提高0.3%~0.4%、硬度79.5%~82.4%,较对照减小1.3%~4.8%、蛋白质含量16.2%~16.8%,较对照提高3.4%~6.7%、湿面筋含量35.3%~35.8%,较对照提高1.1%~2.6%、拉伸面积61.7~62.4 cm2,较对照增大0.2%~1.2%,延展性225.4~226.4 mm,较对照增大0.1%~0.6%.沉降值、稳定时间的变化与浓度有关,吸水率与最大拉伸阻力变化不显著.

评价改革是新课程改革的重要组成部分,同时又是新课程改革重要的制度保障。新课程实施以来,山西省各级教育行政部门、教育科研部门及基层学校在新课程评价方面进行了积极的探索,取得了一定成效,但也还存在许多问题,在一定程度上制约了新课程改革的整体推进。找准问题的关键所在,研究改进措施是目前摆在我们面前的首要任务。

The Effectiveness of a Color‐Coded,Onset‐Rime Decoding Intervention with First‐Grade Students at Serious Risk for Reading Disabilities

This study was an investigation into the effectiveness of a color‐coded, onset‐rime–based decoding intervention with first‐graders at serious risk for reading disabilities using a single‐subject multiple probe design. Students increased their ability to decode instructional words on average 73% over baseline. For novel words from instructed rime patterns, scores increased by an average of 56%. Transfer at the vowel level to uninstructed rime patterns was limited, with scores improving by an average of 29%. Students maintained decoding gains at 1‐week and 1‐month maintenance. While acknowledging the difficulty in predicting reading disabilities based on first‐grade performance, the effectiveness of the early intervention is a promising step in finding an instructional approach that is successful with the most at risk or disabled students who often do not respond to effective remedial programs.     

Lehrerbildung fur den Unterricht Behinderter Kinder in der UdSSR

This article is presented as an interim report on an inquiry which is being conducted at the German Institute for International Educational Research at Frankfurt/Main. The authors being by outlining the organisational structure of special school teacher training at the Faculties of Defectology which have been established at a good number of Colleges of Education. However, the emphasis is laid on identifying current curricular innovations with special regard to the experiments at the Lenin College of Education in Moscow. In the following section specific attention is paid to the function of correspondence studies in the initial and in‐service training of special school teachers. The article is concluded by some remarks about the social status that teachers enjoy in the Soviet Union and by some basic comparison with trends in special teacher education in both Germanies.     

Coping with separation anxiety

Whether beginning nursery school, kindergarten, or first grade, many children commonly experience fear at being separated from their parents and at being in a new place for the first time for an extended period. For example, Albert lived across the street from the school where he was to attend first grade. 泉州市辖下的南安溪东李氏始祖陈鸿仪,南宋末年迁自惠安县南辋。惠安县历史上没有“南辋”地名的记载,而只有“辋川”。通过有关的文献资料与实地调查访问,认为今南安市（县级市）溪东李氏先祖的原居地在今天惠安县辋川镇辋川行政村。     

Mnemonic precedence in amnesic patients: an analogue of the AB error in infants?

Amnesic patients were able to retrieve an object hidden at an initial location after a brief delay, but subsequently failed to retrieve an object at a new location, and instead searched for it at the old place. This phenomenon, which we call mnemonic precedence, resembles the AB error that has been observed in 8-10-month-old infants. The parallel performance of amnesics and infants on object search tasks is consistent with the hypothesis that memory deficit, rather than defective object concept, plays a major role in the AB error. The influence of memory processes on tests of symbolic representation is discussed.
