酷英文Cool的汉语音译。cool本来是冷的意思。60年代开始成为美国青年街头流行语,初期指一种冷峻的、反主流的行为或态度,后来泛指能够让懂得使用“Cool”这个词的人来赞美的一切人和事物。《韦伯斯特大辞典》释为:very good:excellent :fash-ion-able. 70年代传入台湾.即被生性酷爱把一切外来语译成中文谐音.具有“不教胡马度阴山”这气概的台湾人改成了“酷”,并流传至今。很显然,归化之后的cool词竟陡然丰富了起来。台湾“教育部”已正式将该词收入《国语辞典》释为“潇洒中带点冷漠”。而据零点公司的网上调查显示,“酷”与“下岗”、“房改”、“再就业”等
