文章首先阐述了后现代主义和阐释学基本思想,分析了现代情报学和后现代情报学的概念及学科特征,说明了研究重点的转移。然后分别探讨了现代情报学和后现代情报学中的阐释学观点。最后论述了阐释学怎样架起现代与后现代情报学之间的桥梁。

图书馆学方法论研究中的解释学问题

解释学对方法论的理解,与传统科学对方法论的理解有很大的不同。当前图书馆学哲学方法研究中存在的问题,是研究者仍然保持传统科学方法的旧观念,在解读新的哲学理论中,不能改变自己的"前理解",达到"视界融合",其结果是出现"误读",难以获得新的哲学方法。     

Beyond Science: Implications of the LSIE Report for Art Museum Education

Abstract The Learning Science in Informal Environments report holds great potential for creating change among those who work in the field of science education. But to what extent can it inform other sectors of the informal education world? This article explores how the LSIE report might influence research and practice in art museums. By comparing the report to a recent study in art education, the authors point out areas of overlap and divergence relative to content and skills, identity, and communities of practice. We suggest several implications for how art museums and science museums might learn from one another. A call to action is made for further research and discussion about common learning goals and outcomes for the art museum experience.     

图书情报学知识论研究中的解释学问题

当前我国图书情报界的知识论研究,大量引入西方现代知识论的各种学派理论,但多数研究者还是用全知知识观的前理解加以解读,所以误读是必然的。因此,务必要改变研究者全知知识观的前理解,因为西方现代知识论学派,多数是以无知知识论作为理论基础。段小虎在研究中能自觉地运用无知知识观,纠正全知知识观的弊病,对当前图书情报界的知识论研究,有很大的启示。

Beyond authorship: attribution,contribution, collaboration,and credit

• As the number of authors on scientific publications increases, ordered lists of author names are proving inadequate for the purposes of attribution and credit.
• A multi‐stakeholder group has produced a contributor role taxonomy for use in scientific publications.
• Identifying specific contributions to published research will lead to appropriate credit, fewer author disputes, and fewer disincentives to collaboration and the sharing of data and code.

     

Discovering Music: Small-Scale,Web-Scale,Facets, and Beyond

In this presentation, two music librarians addressed the issues related to the discovery of library music resources. Rebecca Belford talked about the Music Library Association’s “Music Discovery Requirements” (MLA MDR) document, and how it applies to some contexts. Tracey Snyder then described the incorporation of MLA MDR into the development of a specific discovery interface. The presenters identified some of the challenges characteristic of music resources and ways in which those challenges may be met, reasoning that a tool capable of handling music will be capable of handling most things in a general collection.     

Librarians as Research Partners: Their Contribution to the Scholarly Endeavour Beyond Library and Information Science

Academic libraries are increasingly called upon to demonstrate their value to their home institutions. Research collaboration with faculty resulting in the co-authorship of scholarly output is one possible way to demonstrate the alignment of the library with the institutional mission. Involvement in research also improves librarians' skills in offering research support services. This study explores the contribution of librarians to scholarly journals in fields other than Library and Information Science (LIS) as well as their collaboration practices with researchers in those fields. Results show an increasing number of papers published by library-affiliated authors in non-LIS journals between 2006 and 2015. The papers fall broadly into four areas: articles on topics related to LIS published in non-LIS journals; higher education and information literacy; systematic reviews and meta-analysis; and research collaboration in the faculty's areas of expertise. The study is limited by the difficulty in properly retrieving the scholarly output of librarians from bibliographic databases and the difficulty in ascertaining their contributions to published articles.

Gender,Science, and Technology:

The present bibliography grew out of a need to provide a basic working list for participants in a conference held at the University of California, Davis in April of 1988. Originally consisting of publications of conference participants, it grew from a specialized working document into a more comprehensive monograph bibliography, at first with a simple snowball method; and subsequently, with the aid of two major bibliographic utilities: the University of California's system-wide online catalog (Melvyl), and RLIN (the cataloging database of the Research Libraries Group).     

Russia Beyond Russia Digital Library: History,Concept, and Development

SUMMARY

In this article we share our experience in building the Core Module of the Russia Beyond Russia Digital Library (RBR), funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. We explore the André Savine Collection, trace the evolution of the RBR digitization project, describe the conceptual models of the RBR and Core Module, and follow the progression of the Core Module development. We also look into future development of the RBR Digital Library.     

Beyond Tomorrow:

Libraries have made progress toward the development of the electronic library as defined by Pat Battin in 1984. As the electronic library presently exists it closely resembles an automated version of traditional library services. Before the development of the electronic library is concluded questions need to be posed and answered regarding the use of this tool. It must be ascertained whether scholars in different disciplines use automated tools in profoundly different ways in order that the electronic library meets the needs of those whom we intend to serve.     

A Literature Review of How Videogames Are Assessed in Library and Information Science and Beyond

In this paper the author explores how videogames and gaming are assessed in Library and Information Science (LIS) and in other fields. The author concludes with a discussion of some potential future directions for assessment practices of videogames and gaming in LIS.
