EU Commissioner Delivers a Speech at CAS Institute

European Union (EU) Environment Commissioner Margot Wallstrom gave a talk on cooperation between the EU and China on environmental issues during her trip to the CAS Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resource Research (IGSNRR) on Nov. 13.     

Nobel Laureate Honored with Chair at CAS Institute

Nobel laureate Prof. Daniel C.Tsui, of Princeton University, received an honorary title of chair of the CAS Institute of Physics during a visit to the Beijing institute on Nov. 17. He also agreed to set up a chair for which he will invite a visiting first-class scientist to the institute each year.     

A Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics Established at CAS

On June 18, the launching ceremony for the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics China (KITPC) at CAS was held at the campus of the CAS Institute of Theoretical Physics in Beijing. Together with the Kavli Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics at Peking University, they will be new additions to the worldwide Kavli network.

CAS Invites International Panel to Evaluate Its Institute

At the invitation of the CAS, a group of eight international experts convened in Nanjing on October 7th and 8th to evaluate the CAS Nanjing Institute of Geology and Paleontology (NIGPAS).
