开放教育条件下学习支持服务系统的建立

学习支持服务系统是远程开放教学系统中一个重要的子系统，是远程开放教育区别于传统教育的关键。随着电大开放教育事业的迅速发展，学习支持服务系统的构建越来越为人们所重视，本文通过对开放教育条件下学习支持服务系统建设的必要性，学习支持服务系统的基本内容及如何优化学习支持服务系统作了相应的阐述。     

教学模式改革初探

远程开放教育是以学生自主学习为主的教育模式,它与普通高校的教育模式有着根本的区别.因此,在远程开放教育中,课程教学模式必须进行创新才能达到人才培养的目标."远程开放教育条件下工商管理专业主干课程教与学模式改革课题组"构建了任务驱动型教学模式.本文介绍了这一教学模式在<市场营销学>课程的教学实践中的运用情况,剖析了这种教学模式的优点,也提出了运用任务驱动型教学模式需要注意的问题.     

OCW、MOOCs的实践探索与开放大学的选择

在国家开放大学已有OCW(开放课件)和MOOCs(大规模网络公开课程)的相关研究与实践的基础上,选取一门MOOCs课程"时间管理"进行案例研究,综合运用问卷调查和访谈等相结合的方法,收集数据并进行分析,尝试为开放大学如何面对国际MOOCs的热潮及挑战,提供现实的思路和依据,研究的结论是,开放大学应做出选择:即借鉴MOOCs的相关经验,重点是要培养开放大学的核心能力,即整合课程、学习平台和学习支持服务等的综合服务能力,充分运用各种信息技术,实现远程开放教育领域的泛在学习路线图,从而为需求日益多样化的学生和社会学习者提供有支持的学习。     

Open and distance learning in the Gobi Desert: Non‐formal education for nomadic women

The use of open and distance learning for non‐formal education is much less canvassed in the literature than for formal education. This paper provides a case study, grounded in practice, of the first open and distance learning for non‐formal education in Mongolia, a developing country undergoing rapid transition in the 1990s from a command to a market economy and from communism to a multi‐party democracy. The paper outlines the project and its context, explains the rationale for it, and analyses its achievements, limitations and lessons. It also identifies the additional problems for Open and Distance Education (ODE) in a context of rapid economic transition.     

Lifelong learning to empowerment: beyond formal education

Abstract

This paper discusses the relevance of lifelong learning vis-à-vis the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and stresses the need for an approach blending formal education, non-formal and informal learning. The role of Open and Distance Learning (ODL) in moving beyond formal education and the importance of integrating pedagogy, andragogy and heutagogy in lifelong learning are raised as key factors in ensuring that education and learning can generate positive externalities and impact livelihoods. Through a case study in the agricultural sector, this paper analyses the role of lifelong learning in empowering smallholders of backyard poultry enterprises in Kenya and argues that lifelong learning needs to be placed in appropriate social and economic contexts to generate outcomes and impacts such as empowerment.     

Snapshots of student-teachers' experiences of DVDs in a learner support programme in a developing ODL context

Abstract

The School of Continuing Teacher Education (SCTE) in South Africa delivers an Advanced Certificate in Education (ACE) Learner Support Programme to Open Distance Learning (ODL) students in Namibia, a developing sub-Saharan African country. This paper examines the experiences of student-teachers using DVDs included in the tutorial package. Fifteen participants from rural and remote areas of Namibia took part in a semi-structured focus group and individual interviews. A first phase analysis identified a set of codes and categories that guided the researchers to two themes to using DVDs: frustration and attitude. Student-teachers' frustration and attitude towards DVDs are linked to sufficient appropriate information, also available as a paper-based tutorial package. Although electronic learning material can assist in achieving curriculum goals and enrich students' learning experiences, students' expectations are paramount in the design and development of instructional DVDs.

Student workload: a case study of its significance,evaluation and management at the Open University

Distance students are time poor and some drop out of their studies because they fall behind with coursework. This raises the issue of how course teams decide upon how many study hours should be included in a course. This article presents a number of Open University projects that have addressed student workload management and relates how learning design has incorporated these findings into advice for new module development. Moreover, the article also discusses how recent automatic feedback systems can motivate and support time-poor students when writing their assignments. This is an important finding as drop-out can occur when students are unable to devote the necessary time to their summative assessments and drop out of the learning process.

质量保证在远程开放教学中起着至关重要的作用。电子技术的普及使得更多的学生能够参与到学习中。远程教学已经由教师为中心转变成以学生为中心,此外借助最新的技术,教学质量也得到了很大的提升,远程教学可以通过印刷品、音频、视频或者数字媒介提供各种课程,而且互联网、卫星、微波设备以及光学纤维都可以保证教学内容的有效传输。如今教学质量已成为全球关注的问题,因此,本篇论文研究影响远程开放教育教学质量的不同因素,以求在不断变化的全球局势中满足学生需求。在如今这样的竞争环境中,除了教学活动和学习项目,学习项目的实施以及学习资源中心（学习中心）的建立也对确保教学质量和学生满意度有着十分重要的作用。在以知识为主导的社会中,远程开放教育院校利用不同的教学方法,对整个教育起着至关重要的促进作用。远程开放教育院校在教与学的过程中特别针对不断变化的全球情况,采取了多样的方法。通过在教学进度和课程选择上提供适当的灵活性,教学设计更容易被学生所接受。学生可以了解整个课程的设置从而在保证终身学习的同时,更能准备好迎接具有竞争力的就业市场的挑战。     

建立基于“学”的远程教育质量保证框架——ICDE质量评审的启发和思考

2008年6月,上海电大接受了国际开放远程教育协会(ICDE)的质量评审(Qualityr Audit).ICDE是联合国下属的享有国际权威的远程教育机构.它聘请国际远程教育专家制定质量评审的内容、实施现场的评审.ICDE质量评审的内容和关注点,或许对我国电大教学质量保证能够提供一些有益的启发和思考.

艾伦·泰特教授(Alan Tait),是国际开放和远程教育领域最知名的研究学生学习支持的专家之一。现任英国开放大学教育及语言学院院长,欧洲远程和网络化学习联盟(简称为EDEN,全称为European Distance and E-Learning Network.网址:ht-tp://www.eden-online.org)的副主席,《欧洲开放,远程和网络化学习杂志》(全称Euro-pean Journal of Open,Distance and E-Learning,网址:http://www.eurodl.org)的主编。艾伦·泰特教授从1974年起就一直供职于英国开放大学,曾分别服务于英国开放大学的总部和地区中心,1989-1998期间曾任《开放学习》(Open Learning)杂志的编辑,他所提出的关于学生学习支持的理念和模式被很多研究者所引用,并被诸多的实践者所运用,其研究兴趣主要有学生支持/学习者支持、学习中心的组织、学生指导与咨询,以及辅导教师的管理和培训。     

远程开放教育中学生主体作用发挥的探讨

随着Internet的迅猛发展,远程教育越来越受到人们的关注。这种新型的教学模式是以学生自主学习为主体、以教师的指导、管理、帮助为主导的。本文通过对现代远程开放教育中影响学生主体性发挥的因素及学生自主学习存在的问题和成因的分析,就如何体现学生的主体地位,发挥学生的主体作用提出了对策建议。     

开放大学学习支持系统比较研究

中国远程开放教育近30年的历史发展,取得了巨大的成绩与成功。尤其是近10年在Internet万维网络发展的带动下,我国远程开放教育的学习支持系统发生了根本的变化。已经由原来单纯的电视与广播授课辅导,发展为现在以网络支持系统为主,以电视教育网络为辅的多维学习支持系统。比较世界上著名的开放大学,包括美国、英国和中国开放大学的学习支持系统的服务与功能,分析与总结中国开放远程教育学习支持系统的发展与完善方向。     

Comprehensiveness and the Challenges of Harmonization of Study and Research Programs in the CSET within ODL Context: Chemists’ Perspective

Abstract

This article examines the comprehensiveness of the University of South Africa (UNISA) as an Open Distance Learning (ODL) institution and the challenges faced by experimental disciplines within ODL. Those challenges are brought about by the attempt to harmonize study and research programs in the College of Science, Engineering and Technology (CSET) following the merger and harmonization of programs from the former distance learning UNISA and Technikon South Africa (TSA). The paper discusses the current realities with the aim to promote further debate on the place of ODL in science and technology programs in tertiary education such as UNISA in general and CSET in particular.     

港澳台地区远程开放教育发展历史探源

近些年学者对国内外远程开放教育发展史已有论述,但却较少涉及港澳台地区。港澳台地区的远程开放教育有其独特的发展路径,研究其远程开放教育发展始末具有重要的历史价值。英国首创开放大学后,引起世界各国和地区的普遍关注并产生巨大影响。1979年澳门东亚大学筹备期间提出远程开放大学思路,又在1980年代初引进英国开放大学的办学模式,成立了公开学院,英国开放大学高级职员康纳德·斯威夫特教授出任首任院长。1987年澳门政府通过澳门基金会收购东亚大学,转制为公立大学,1991年更名为澳门大学。1992年,经澳门政府批准,未被收购的东亚公开学院与葡萄牙公开大学联合组成亚洲(澳门)国际公开大学,2011年更名为澳门城市大学。澳门东亚大学远程开放教育的办学特点主要有:一是办学起步早。该院是港澳台地区远程开放教育的先行者;从严格意义上说,该院是中国远程开放教育的探路者。二是办学起点高。虽然该院的远程高等教育早期只是初级形式的远程开放教育,东亚大学办学伊始就具有国际化的定位和特征,其课程得到国外大学的认可。三是直接采用英国开放大学办学模式,该院创办之初得到英国开放大学的管理经验、师资力量和课程资源支持。     

Optimising the blended learning environment: the Arab Open University experience

This paper will offer some insights into possible ways to optimise the blended learning environment based on experience with this modality of teaching at Arab Open University/Jordan branch and also by reflecting upon the results of several meta-analytical studies, which have shown blended learning environments to be more effective than their face to face and online only counterparts. Three key elements will be presented as important ways for improving the blended learning environment: forging genuine collaborative partnerships between institutions in terms of the team-writing of Open and Distance Learning (ODL) material, adopting a more theoretically based instructional approach, such as the cognitive apprenticeship (CA) model, which emphasises making thinking visible and developing a comprehensive understanding of blended education in order to help students achieve their educational goals.     

国外远程教育中的合作学习初探

合作学习是开放大学的主要特征之一,存在于远程教育的方方面面。笔者在研究印度、英国、法国、美国、瑞典、土耳其等国远程教育现状的基础上,对国外远程教育的相关理论、合作学习的必要性、合作学习内容和形式、成功合作学习所需的条件及当前存在的主要问题等方面进行了文献梳理与比较分析,希望能为我国远程开放教育合作学习的进一步开展提供一些参考。     

在教师教育者中创建网上学习社区

网上授课在全球各教育机构尤其是开放和远程学习机构呈迅猛发展的态势。网上学习为远程学习者提供了大量的师生互动、生生互动的机会。他们分享感受,共同协作。通过学习者之间的交互学习,网上学习较独立学习能产生更好的学习效果。斯里兰卡开放大学教育系利用Moodle学习系统开设了“作为教育技术人员的教师教育者”网上课程。课程设计使用协作学习模式,为远程学习者提供了大量积极参与学习过程的机会。学习者借助学习资源和教师的引导完成学习和评估任务,通过讨论会的方式进行协作学习并共同分享感受。本文采用个案研究的方法,对设计者、教师以及学生在网上学习环境中共同加强社区构建所实施的具体策略和技术进行了调查,并进一步探索了社区建设对远程学习者即网上学习的初学者的影响。本文同时讨论了建构网上学习社区的发展进程并强调了设计者、教师和学习者在成功创建网上学习社区中所起的作用。     

天津电大双向视频远程教学系统的建设和发展
