However mean your life is, meet it and live it; do not shun it and call it hard names. It is not so bad as you are. It looks poorest when you are richest. The fault-finder will find faults in paradise. Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poor-house. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the alms-house as brightly as from the rich man' s abode; the snow melts before its door as early in the spring. I do not see but a quiet mind may live as contentedly there, and have as cheering thoughts, as in  相似文献

Your attitude is your own personal filter for everything that happens to you, around you, or within you. What takes place in this world is not as important as how you view it. You cannot choose what will happen to you. You cannot guarantee success and happiness for yourself. These things are out of your control. You can, however, choose how you feel about these things, about how you re-  相似文献

今日是礼物
In a University commencement address several years ago,Brian Dyson,CEO of Coca Cola Enter-prises.spoke on the relation of work to one's other commitments: "Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling five balls in the air. You name them-work,family, health, friends and spirit-and you're keeping all of these in the air.You will soon understand that work is rubber ball.If you drop it,it will bounce back. But the other four balls-family,health, friends and spirit are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for balance in your life. How?  相似文献

微笑(英文)
Smile at each other, smile at your wife, smile at your husband, smile at your children, smile at each other-it doesn't matter who it is-and that will help you to grow up in greater love for each other. Mother TeresaMany Americans are familiar with The Little Prince, a wonderful book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. This is a whimsical and fabulous book and works as a children's story as well as a thought-provoking adult fable. Far fewer are aware of Saint-Exupery's other writings, novels and short stories.Saint-Exupery was a fighter pilot who fought against the Nazis and was killed in action. Before World War Ⅱ, he fought in the Spanish Civil War against the fascists. He wrote a fascinating story based on that experience entitled The Smile( Le Sourire. )It is this story which I'd like to share with you now. It isn't clear whether or not he meant this to be autobiographical or fiction. I choose to believe it is the former. He said that he was captured by the enemy and thrown into a jail cell. He was sure that from the contemptuous looks and rough treatment he received from his jailers he would be executed the next day. From here, I'll tell the story as I remember it in my own words.  相似文献

The good you find in others, is in you too. The faults you find in others, are your faults as well. After all, to recognize something you must know it. The possibilities you see in others, are possible for you as well. The beauty you see around you, is your beauty. The world around you is a reflection, a mirror showing you the person you are.  相似文献

As mind-boggling as it is.approximately 3 million women and girl-in countries as far away as Bangladesh and as near as Mexico-could die this year of tuberculosis, pneumonia and other preventable diseases that doctors have known how to treat for decades.
