An increase in online education is causing science educators to evaluate student cognitive understanding after completing virtual, computer-simulated laboratories. Online education has demonstrated comparable learning gains when analysed to those of the traditional classroom, but research is mixed when reviewing students’ ability to manipulate tangible laboratory equipment after participating in online experimentation. The question remains, are students who are exclusively enrolled in online science courses equipped with the cognitive ability to operate laboratory equipment within a physical laboratory? When considering the optimal learning environment for science majors, educators have discovered the blended classroom may provide the perfect opportunity to combine the benefits of face-to-face instruction and feedback with the reinforcement of scientific theory through technology integration. New advances in virtual education provide promising examples of enhancing the online classroom laboratory in all scientific disciplines. Further insight into the blended classroom has the potential to influence the field of education towards an optimal learning environment for science majors in colleges and universities.  相似文献

This evaluation examines the impact on student success rates related to changes in instructional programmes in undergraduate mathematics and statistics courses. Success for students taking courses with a computer-based homework component was compared with success of students who took the course in prior semesters without the computer-based component. Graphical and analytical tools are used to compare results. Results come from multiple semesters of each type of homework application, for both pre-calculus algebra and business statistics courses. Students whose performance is utilised in this study are undergraduate students taking introductory level college mathematics or business statistics courses, with mostly no prior instruction at this level. Comparing the success of the intervention group with the success of the baseline control group, findings support that the students using the computer-based homework instruction are just as successful as those using the traditional method of homework instruction. Utilising the online homework applications, provide several important advantages in today’s universities, including the reduced time for faculty grading, consistency of graded assignments across all sections of a course and most importantly, immediate feedback for students.  相似文献

In this paper we demonstrate how video game mechanics can be used to help improve student engagement with online mathematics homework. Specifically, we integrate two common video game systems, levels and achievements, with the online homework program WeBWorK. 本文依据Goetz等人对作业情绪的研究方法,对某城市中学生在物理作业过程中表现出的愉快、自豪、担忧、生气、厌烦五种情绪进行调查研究。结果表明:(1)作业情绪和课堂情绪之间呈现显著相关,在学业情绪研究中有必要区分作业情绪和课堂情绪;(2)作业情绪和课堂情绪都与学业自我概念和学业成就之间成明显的相关性,两种情境下的情绪与学业成就的相关性相似;(3)与物理作业情绪间的关系相比,物理课堂情绪内部关系更加微弱。  相似文献

审判公开是现代法治国家普遍遵循的一项诉讼原则,也是我国在刑事司法领域制定和推行的公正审判的司法准则之一。随着民主法治建设的逐步推进,社会公众法律意识、人权意识不断增强,对审判公开提出了越来越高的要求。而司法实践中,审判公开的落实还存在着诸多的问题。本文从刑事司法的角度,阐述了审判公开的历史渊源、理论基础及其内容,分析了该原则在我国的适用现状,并对该原则的落实提出了完善建议。  相似文献

The use of clickers in the classroom has been linked to student learning. However, studies that examine the effects of clickers on learning often conceptualize a clicker exercise as a single, homogeneous cognitive processing (CP) event. We offer a conceptualization of sequenced cognitive activities that unfold during a clicker exercise. An inductive approach is adopted to identify three CP events that occur during a clicker exercise: an investigation event, a confirmation event, and a ratification event. We then use data collected from a sample of 187 students in an undergraduate business capstone course to explore the relationships between the three CP events and student learning. Contrary to expectations, not all CP events contribute positively to student learning. We discuss the implications of these findings and offer directions for future research that advance the understanding of clicker‐enhanced student learning. These insights afford instructors new options for optimizing the contributions of clicker exercises to student learning in their courses.  相似文献

Abstract

We report on a randomized controlled trial of an intervention that leverages the availability of laptops for all public-school students in the state of Maine. The intervention, called “ASSISTments,” provides feedback to students as they solve mathematics homework problems and automatically prepares reports for teachers about student performance on daily assignments. Teachers received training and coaching on formative assessment. Data was collected from 43 schools, 87 teachers, and 2769 7th grade students. Planned analyses describe use of the intervention, analyze the impact of the intervention on an end-of-year standardized assessment, and explore variables that may moderate or mediate impacts. Findings indicate that students in the schools assigned to use ASSISTments learned more and the impact was greater for students with lower prior mathematics achievement. Although evidence shows that teachers used the intervention to target instruction to students’ needs, the mediating role of this practice was unclear. We also examined the generalizability of the findings and found generalizability to be limited due to the setting in Maine. Implications for policy, practice, and future research are discussed.  相似文献

The Boston University PT3 grant project proposed first to train faculty to use technology and then to sustain the gained expertise in a curriculum development project. Education faculty gains in integrating technology into their teaching and their modeling of that use were clearly demonstrated in phase one of the project (the initial two years of the project). In phase two (the third year), faculty were challenged to produce innovative, interdisciplinary curriculum development projects investigating judgment in their discipline. Prototypes of the Judgment Curriculum produced in phase two of the project demonstrate an intersection of technology competence and innovative, question‐driven instruction. Preliminary data show strong gains in faculty use of technology in their teaching and in faculty requirements that their students use technology in education coursework. However, continued development of the Judgment Curriculum lessons remains a challenge.  相似文献

刑法学派的不同立场对刑事立法和司法都会产生重大影响。综观我国的刑事立法现状和司法困境,当前的刑事立法应当坚持刑法理论上的主观主义,以解决“立法爆炸”和“刑罚威慑”问题,并且维护一个稳定的刑法典,促成人们对刑法规范的信仰和遵守;而当前的刑事司法则应该坚持刑法理论上的客观主义,以解决“保护人权”和“限制国家刑罚权”问题,使刑罚权在有限的空间内合理地运行。司法机关与立法机关之间应当按照宪法和法律规定的权限分工在法定权限内各司其职、相互配合与制约,对不属于自己权限范围的事项不能越权,最终形成立法机关与司法机关的良性互动,从而更好地发挥刑法的功能。  相似文献

伴随大数据、学习分析技术的发展,在线作业成为当前教育科技产品的重要形式,但是有关在线作业的用户体验研究并不多。文章采用技术接受模型来研究初中生和家长的在线作业用户体验及其影响因素,并结合相关研究中的教师用户体验进行比较分析,研究发现:易用性对学生和家长的在线作业使用无显著影响,对教师有影响;有用性是教师和家长更为关心的,而学生对此无感;社会影响和自我学习管理对学生和家长在线作业使用呈显著影响。基于此,文章对在线作业推广应用进行了反思,认为在线作业需避免成为强化应试的工具;教师要适应新的“把关人”角色;在线作业开发需更多地转向学生用户设计,以增强其学习体验。  相似文献

厦门大学教师发展中心开展的疫情期间高校在线教学调查表明,大规模在线教学实践为传统教学注入了新技术、新理念和新活力,为学校教育教学的时空观、教学观、知识观和治理观带来了一场深刻的思想革新,展现了高校课堂革命的希望之光。与此同时,高校在线教学之于课堂革命仍然存在着诸多方面的固有局限,如传统教学的遮蔽、网络学习的碎片化、单向度教育对精神成长的消解等等,束缚着在线教学对课堂革命的价值释放。展望未来,高校要深刻把握互联网信息及科技蓬勃发展的时代趋势,全面深化信息技术与教育教学的深度融合,推动学校教育教学生态重塑,促进高校教学范式的深层变革,实现教学革命、学习革命和治理革命。  相似文献

Abstract

This article describes a quantitative and qualitative assessment from a study done on the possible effectiveness of including an online homework component in first-semester calculus. Two instructors, each teaching two sections of Calculus I, agreed to treat one of their sections as an experimental group and the other as a control group. Students in the experimental sections were issued an access code from the publisher of the textbook used in the course, to an online site that reflected the problems at the end of each of the text's chapters. Homework problems were assigned for almost all sections covered in the course, and students were allowed multiple attempts with feedback on problems submitted incorrectly. The assignments were graded and recorded by the computer. One of the teachers had great success and significant results for his experimental section with the online homework program, whereas the other did not. 随着网络技术的飞速发展,传媒监督对我国社会生活产生了重大影响,刑事司法亦不能例外。适度的传媒监督在遏制司法腐败、促进司法公正方面发挥着重要作用,但传媒监督过度介入刑事审判会影响审判之独立、公正及权威。当然,这并不等于说我国的传媒监督已趋成熟,其对刑事审判的监督过度了,相反,我国的传媒监督极不发达,只是由于我国正处于社会转型时期,许多制度不健全、立法存在盲区,规范落实不到位而使然。所以,如何进一步的规范传媒监督进而使其更好的发挥监督作用则至关重要。  相似文献

"量刑辩论"改革的提出,是寻找公诉权、辩护权与裁量权连接点的有益探索,公诉人在案件公开审理时发表量刑建议,而辩方则可以对这个建议发表自己的意见,可以就被告人如何量刑、量刑的具体幅度展开辩论,这实际是对法庭辩论的细化,为法官量刑提供一个参考,有利于规范法官自由裁量权、实现量刑均衡的作用。因此,为深化与完善"量刑辩论"改革,建议适当限制量刑辩论的案件范围、强化裁判文书对量刑部分的说理、明确量刑建议的内容。  相似文献
