文章以工科类高等职业院校非英语专业一年级学生为调查对象,采用Horwitz的焦虑量表,经过前测和正式测量,了解高职工科环境中,外语学习情况与焦虑状况之间的关系;比较外语水平不同的调查对象在语言焦虑程度中的差异性;并就调查对象在焦虑各维度上的差异性进行比较,对焦虑水平与学习成绩的相关性进行分析。

Phonological attainment and foreign language anxiety in distance language learning: a quantitative approach

Learning a language through distance means is becoming increasingly widespread. The investigation reported in this paper was part of a large study (n = 590) carried out in 2011, which examined the experience of English-speaking students learning French pronunciation in a distance setting. This paper explores the hypothesis that there is a link between foreign language anxiety (FLA) and phonological attainment when learning in a distance setting. Quantitative methods included a questionnaire which explored FLA and learning pronunciation of English-speaking students learning French in a distance setting (n = 590). Pronunciation competence and FLA were measured using two instruments: an adapted version of the Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale, which was part of the questionnaire, and a phonological attainment rating table, assessed through a reading activity. A significant correlation was found between good pronunciation skills and low levels of FLA.     

团体箱庭疗法在高职学生干部队伍建设中的应用——以福建水利电力职业技术学院为例

探讨自发性、主题性团体箱庭疗法在高职学生干部队伍建设中的有效性。采用大学生人际关系综合诊断量表进行前后测比较研究(ABA),对福建水利电力职业技术学院某班级的15名学生干部进行3次团体箱庭疗法。大学生人际关系综合诊断量表中与异性朋友交往的困扰程度前后测试结果(t=2.35,p<0.05)有统计学意义;沙盘作品趋于整合、和谐。运用自发性、主题性团体箱庭疗法相结合的方式在高职学生干部队伍建设中是一种有效的尝试。     

Mindfulness,coping self-efficacy and foreign language anxiety: a mediation analysis

This study sought to explore the relationship between mindfulness, coping self-efficacy (CSE) and foreign language anxiety (FLA) among a sample of 295 Iranian English as a foreign language (EFL) learners. Further, the capacity of CSE in mediating the relationship between mindfulness and FLA was tested. The participants were administered self-reported questionnaires. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was utilised. The results of SEM analysis showed that higher levels of mindfulness were associated with lower levels of FLA and greater CSE. In addition, it was found that CSE could partially mediate the relationship between mindfulness and FLA. Implications are discussed.

Case studies of learning disabled students with deficient syntactic control in English as a foreign language

This paper discusses a mini‐experiment; an exercise was devised to investigate the effects of repeated articulation on the acquisition of syntax. The main participants of the experiment are two Hebrew‐speaking students, one formally assessed as having reading disabilities, one female age 14 (Q) and one dyslexic male age 16 (W). Q has been learning English at school for 4 years; she is in eighth grade. She is in the group for weak learners of English and does not show signs of a reading disability. She has taken private tuition once a week for approximately 5 months. She had not previously studied the target structure in the experiment. The results are discussed in light of the literature review findings, and some applied implications and conclusions were drawn for learning disabilities (LD) teaching.     

Understanding collaborative language learning in novice-level foreign language classrooms: perceptions of teachers and students

This study explored the congruence and disparities among three groups of foreign language (Chinese, French, and German) students’ and teachers’ perceptions of collaborative/cooperative language learning (CLL) strategies in novice-level classroom contexts. A total of 168 participants from a university in the USA took part in this mixed-method study. The quantitative findings from a 10-item CLL questionnaire suggested that while the students’ and teachers’ perceptions of CLL strategies were generally consistent and positive, some disparities emerged in terms of their perceptions towards pair work, 3–6 as a group work, interview, and role playing. The qualitative findings from interviews and classroom observations provided some possible explanations to the differences discovered. The quantitative findings also revealed that foreign language type was not a factor differentiating students’ and teachers’ perceptions of CLL strategies. Some practical implications are provided for the effective implementation of CLL strategies in novice-level foreign language classrooms.

水利高职生半工半读人才培养模式的实践与启示──以重庆水利电力职业技术学院学生水利调查为例

半工半读是教育与生产劳动相结合的教育制度。通过总结重庆水利电力职业技术学院组织水利专业高职学生参加水利调查的经验,提出了保障"半工半读"人才培养模式顺利实施的对策及建议。
