All human relationships are constructed and defined by the relative power of the interacting persons. Women, most often than not have been defined in all spheres of life in terms of their relationships with men. Most literary texts written by men over the years have tended to give women subordinate roles. A new trend however seems to have emerged with the appearance of women writers on the scene. These writers have sought to reconstruct these negative stereotypes by redefining the role of the woman in the light of current global and contemporary trends. This article sought to examine how Doris Lessing in her Golden Notebook has given voice to feminist concerns through her major protagonist:Anna Wulf. The article specifically looks at how Anna challenges patriarchal conventions and choose to express herself through writing initially considered to be the sole preserve of men. The article used the feminist literary theory as the main instrument for analysis. 相似文献

When normal, Lear can not even distinguish flattery and pat answers from sincerity and true love. While considered as insane, he learns to take care of the wretched and is able to discover the truth in life. The key concept of anti-logo-centrism in deconstructive criticism provokes us to reconsider the boundary between madness and reason, and traditional Western philosophical ideas, thus enabling us to appreciate the despised madness in King Lear from the perspective of philosophy. 相似文献

Why Anna’ fate is tragic and how to get true love are also analyzed in this paper. Mutual respect and consideration are the basics of love and never lose ourselves in love. 相似文献

My paper begins with a brief overview of Anna Karenina. And from which to explore five climaxes(conflicts), focusing on the essence of the fourth climax. Based on the above understanding and analysis, just getting to learn that power or money is useful, but they are not equal to love and happy life. Marriage without love can not be happy and difficult to maintain a long time. We should take a deep consideration mull to marriage, choosing the person suitable to us, and don’t follow Anna Karenina’s thespian road. 相似文献

When we read Shake speare's tragedies,we can not help feeling thatthe most painful and the most pathetic one might be Othello. For inHamlet, the hero knows his rival olearly to be his uncle clandius, themost vicious, incestus villain, thus he is on guard;in King Lear, theold king is the only victim of human ingratitude;only in othello, thenoble hearted hero is completely in the darkness, unaware of his enemy, and mislays his trust upon the most incomparably ingenious and unscru-pulous villain. He is led by the nose.to believe that his newly weddedwife is not as pure as he has thought before and finally to strangle thesublimely innocent and pure angel upon her wedding sheet, conceiving ofhimself as the agent not of vengeance but of divine justice. This mightbe the cruelest act that has ever happened inhuman history. This tragedyis partly due to the intrigues of the shameless villain Iago, partly dueto the vunerableness of the hero's character. 相似文献
